  1. We will see you thursday morning
  2. Brandy and I are heading out Wednesday after work and headed as far as chirstiansburg,VA. Then an early start Thursday to be in Fontana by mid morning
  3. I bet they do fit because the Carbon edition has JCW tips on it, but it is still the S exhaust. Need a better view of how the attach. does @wyretrip has JCW tips?
  4. The local pick-a-parts might be a good place.
  5. The Countryman projects continue: today I switch out the stock rotors and pads for EBC performance rotors and red stuff pads. Fun fact for anyone looking to tackle this project on a countryman or guessing Gen3s, the project is very easy but BMW/MINI has made it that you almost every form of fastener possible. There are standard metric hex bolts for the caliper guides (you also need narrow open wrenches to fit the backside) and FRONT caliper carriage, metric allen head screws holding the rotors, but just to be crazy the rear carriage bolts are echo heads (female torx). Now to get them fulling bedded before the dragon.
  6. No worries, thank you for the heads up

  9. Hey all, We are now less than 24 hours out from the start of the cherry blossom run. If you are a maybe on the RSVP, I ask that you please update your status if you know if you are coming. There are some blossoms out so we will not see just sticks. I will post the route sheets after work, along with a link to the google maps route. I used google maps for the first time on the test run and it worked well. I will have several had copies of the route sheets at the driver's meeting. Put those radios on the charges if you have them, I will bring a few spares. please let me know if you have any questions. See everyone bright and early.
  10. I can jack stand it of you, and have stands if mark doesn't have one for each corner. It is a bit unsettling the first time you jack up a MINI. The combination of the short wheelbase and stiff uni-body means when you jack up one corner the whole side lifts up. You can see in the one photo I still always lay the tire under the car when it is off, as and extra safety to catch the car it a jack stand was to slip.

  12. I was considering having them powder coated. Maybe some orange calipers when I do the brakes.
  13. Got working on the honey do list today: first on the list NM sport springs,
  14. thanks for the update. Unfortunately do the conglomeration of factors: snow delaying the blooms, estimated temperature that morning in the mid 20’s, and now large protests with road closures we will have to slide the event to the right. It has been moved to 31 March, this is Easter weekend but I have shifted from Sunday to Saturday hopefully not conflict with peoples’ plans. A decent amount of blooms should be out, but likely still missing the crush of people a peak bloom. The weather is tentatively going to be in the high 50’s. I can’t promise no protests, it is DC! Have updated the calendar event to reflect the new date, the site did not blow out the RSVP's so if your availability has changed I ask the you update your RSVP accordingly. Again, I am sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and I hope you will all still be able to attend, and hopefully a few more. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions.
  15. Yes, Sunday the 25th. We will make a final call tomorrow.
  16. Need to check the effect of the snow tomorrow, as of now still this Saturday
  17. That was nice of them.
  18. Did you tell Passport not to do the oil change then, since the oil has to be change to replace the oil pan gasket? also remember that their are lots of gen1 in the junction yards, great place to get replacement parts for pennies on the dollar
  19. Vinyl cut
  20. Quick update for all, I did the pre-run yesterday and the route is good to go. I will finalize the route sheets today and post them. According to the NPS peak bloom is March 27-31 and the Washington post is saying March 30 to April 3. Though recent cold weather has kind of stalled the blooms in the bud phase, I will keep an eye out as we move through the week. If the blooms continue to stall what is everyone take on sliding a week to the right to 31 March, this would also be a Saturday as Sunday is Easter. This is a last resort, as long as long as some of the blooms are out we will go as scheduled. I will provide an update on Wednesday, my intent is to keep the 25th date as long as it won't be a twig run instead of a cherry blossom run.
  21. I am posting this for @carman63 please contact Jim for any information or comment below. MINIFINI spare tire mount with the attachment base. Bought in 2012, used for MTTS 2012 and has been in storage ever since. Both pieces sell for $375 or so on MINI FINI’s site. Asking $90. Will meet up in the DC/NoVA area. Prefer not to ship unless you pay ALL shipping costs (to include boxes, etc needed).
  22. Great run today, thanks for hosting Dervin. Awesome job at adapting on the fly. I feel like this captures the run:
  23. Good choice on the control arms. As for adjustable endlinks, it depends how low you plan on setting it up, more than two inches and you should probably get them. Nothing required for my time, I will bring whatever we need tool wise it really is basically just a couple sockets and an Allen key.
