The are plenty of gen1s in the pick a parts. you can get one for a few bucks as long as you are willing to pull it. http://lkqpickyourpart.com/ the price list says ABS Unit (complete) $62.32

Mario, You may also want to consider calling one of the two third party shops that offer club discounts. GT Peace automotive is located in Chantilly and PTunning in Manassas. Both are very familiar with MINIs and many members of the club use then for both basic maintenance, repairs, and upgrades. They are a very good option to save some money compared to dealer prices.

Welcome, you do not need to buy a membership to attend runs, or access the forum. I encourage people to attend a few events and see if they enjoy it before buying a membership You do have to buy a membership to get a membership card which is what vendors will ask for to give you the club discount. A paid membership also opens up a few extra threads on the forum. what are you looking to have done to you MINI?

I jokingly now call it MINIs take the Colonies 2020!!!

What legs are you thinking? I am thinking picking it up in Pocono and going through Roanoke maybe Abingdon.
-
Or we can do it Wed evening, in place of the welcome dinner. We can find somewhere to work it in.
-
i am in for either, do you want to do the hub early in the week? I know some folks had a bad experience and do not go there any more, but I don't mind going. We could do a fancy dinner at the lodge Saturday night since I a lot of us don't do the farewell dinner.

The Mistress Run will kick off our run schedule this year. As many of us have not been motoring our MINIs much these past few months here is a friendly checklist to ensure you are ready for the twisties. Check fluid levels (oil, coolant, brake, and even washer fluid) Check tires for wear, cracking, bubbles (don’t forget the inside side walls) Check brakes (pad life, any vibration when stopping, is there an annoying squeak) Optional Run Prep Radios: charge and function check (if this is your first run do not worry, others have spares you can borrow) Cameras/GoPros: Charge and function check (did you get a new gadget for Xmas, try using it on your drive to work to get familiar. You do not want to be fighting with it at the run.) Wash your MINI: There will be plenty of Cameras and GoPros shooting the run, you may want to look your best for your close up.

We finished the Pre-run today, and everything looks great, no gravel other then the winery driveway this year. this years present is they have freshly paved Crest Hill Rs, some of the best twisters on the route and now smooth pavement!!!! great little winery and they are excited to have us, and will even be setting aside the back room for us with private tastings. brandy’s review of the tasting was very good wines, all wines on the dry side. Tasting will be $13.

untilBefore the event: Registration: There is a $15.00 registration to attend the event. From there you can add the following prepaid items to your registration package: Welcome Dinner, Dragon Bingo, Brewswap, Farewell Dinner, Grill Badges and several event shirts. All registration items will be picked up at the event. (Click here for a step by step Registration Guide) Registration for the event and pre-paid add ons will open up 9:00am on Friday January 17th 2020. You will be able to sign up for day drives at 9:00am Saturday February 15th 2020. You will only be able to sign up for day drives if you have paid your registration for the event and your order has been processed. Keep in mind, it can take me up to 24 hours to procees your registration and you won't be able to sign up for the day drives till I do that. Day Drives and Events: Individual Volunteers, Clubs and Vendors host different day drives and events each year. Most of these are non pre-paid events. There are a few that your have to paypal the drive leaders in advance. Some of them are free, many of them you just pay for your own meal or the designated activity. You can view these drives/events via the Schedule tab on the top of this page. You can click on each drive/event to get more details. We try to have a "Map" tab on each day drive on the schedule page, so if a drive is full and you would like to do the drive on your own you can print these out and take them to the event. Most events will have a limit. These are due to various reasons. Sometimes it might be due the size of the restaurant, the final destination or just the need to limit the number of MINIs to keep the convoy manageable. These events will usually fill up prior to the MOTD. Please make sure to delete yourself from any drives/events you no longer want to attend to make room for others. Check back often as events and drives are often added up until the last week. You can also become a "fan" of MOTD on Facebook and I'll post up each time we get a new event! Or add your name to get your MOTD News Letter emails HERE. Lodging: Fontana Village is the where the MOTD is based out of and the preferred lodging location for most people. Most folks re-book their rooms at Fontana when they leave the previous year, so you may find that Fontana is sold out when you call. You can ask to put on a wait list. You can also monitor the forums on Motoring Alliance for cancellations or folks looking to share lodging. You can check the Lodging page on this website for other places to stay. Robbinsville,NC is the closest town, followed by Byrson City, NC and Maryville, TN. At the Event: Make sure to stop by the registration room to pick up your Name Badge and other goodies. HERE is the schedule of times that volunteers will be manning the registration room. The registration room in located in the Rec. Hall at Fontana Village. (MAP). Once inside the room, there will be several lines that are sorted by your last name, there you will get your name badge (which is also your ticket into any pre-paid events you purchased) and swag bag, from there you will pass by Bill Connelly and hopefully donate some food or funds for the local food drive and then stop by the Shirt Table if you pre-paid for any event shirts. Inside your swag bag will be a lanyard in which to hang your name badge and schedule card. There will be two large maps of Fontana Village displayed at the Wildwood Grill and General Store. This map will also be in the event guide that is available to download in April. The maps will show where the different events start. Vendor Alley: Will be located in front of the Wildwood Grill / Rec. Hall buildings at Fontana Village. You can check the list HERE towards the end of the year to see what vendors will be at the 2020 MOTD. A friendly tip: Don't overbook yourself. Leave some down time to just relax and take in the mountains and Fontana Village. And if your schedule allows come a day or two early, you'll be glad that you did. Reminders: This is a grassroots event, I personally donate 8 months of each year to hosting this event and then we have a dedicated army of volunteers that all sacrifice a small portion of their MOTD time to help out. So be patient and understanding when you are at the event. The Dragon and the surrounding roads can be dangerous. Please use caution, watch your speed and stay on your side of the yellow line. Please visit our Driving the Dragon page, watch the safety video and sign up for one our Dragon Safety Classes on Wednesday or Thursday.
