You mentioned you do not plan on putting a lot of mileage on the MINI. So would you really get that much service. Like you said you are paying for the last 4 years. If you are doing 10k a year that’s 4 oil changes ($100 ea), likely one brake job ($600ish), a few air/cabin filters($200). So let’s call it a $1000 in service. if it’s a manual and you are hard on the clutch and it is absolutely worth it. One clutch job pays for it. otherwise you have to be putting miles on it to see the value. just my two cents

Does the pedal feel very stiff or and easy push? GTPeace is where I had mine replaced. Way better prices then dealer, while still getting MINI certified techs.

Were you unable to make a run you wanted to? You can now enjoy the roads on your own or invite a few friends and enjoy the routes the club has put together. As a member of the club, we want to share our routes with you. In an easy-to-use turn by turn Navigation App. We will be posting the routes we use in a GXP files; these files can be loaded into an navigation application to get turn by turn directions. Unfortunately, the common turn by turn applications do not support these files, but below you will find the download and installation steps for the app Corey uses when leading runs. Download & Setup The Application is OSM and Maps, and can be downloaded from both our apple and android marketplaces. This is a free application. Once downloaded open the app, and click “get started". You will be prompted to download the map for your state, click download. This will down down your state and the world overview map. Select close on the "whats new" popup, or read and then close Now click the three lines in the bottom left of the app, then select Maps & Resources Select: North American>United States Download the map for Virginia or Maryland (which ever was not the auto populated map when you opened the app). ***NOTE: You may also want the West Virginia map as a few run go out that way. Congrats your application is now read. How to Load the route I want. Locate the run you would like below, then click to download. Send the GXP file to an email you can access on your phone. From your phone, open the email and click the gxp file. The File will be displayed in txt form, select the share button in the upper right corner (box with an arrow coming out the top). The share popup will open and you will see the OSM and Maps icon, Click the Icon. This will import the GXP file and launch the OSM and Maps Application, to the details for the file. Slide the slider next to "Display on Map". Once the slider is green select the close arrow in the upper left to return to the main map screen. ***Note: you may have to zoom to the area of interest (VA or MD) when you return to the map view. Additional information for our day at the track. Arriving: 1) For those joining the run, I will coordinate everything at the gate just follow the MINI in front of you. 2) If you are arriving separately, tell the gate worker you are with the SCCA MINI Car Corral. a) Any issues, have them contact Bob Crawford (race chair), Chris Doherty, or Scott Merker. 3) You will be asked to sign the general waiver at the gate, and given a wrist band (don't lose it!) 4) The car corral will be located directly across from the main entrance to the track. There will be large banners and a popup setup denoting the area. (a) Chris will be wearing a BRIGHT GREEN polo shirt. He will be hard to miss. 5) Waivers - Chris will ensure everyone has signed the SCCA waiver in the morning, and we may provide an additional wrist band for the track touring laps. 6) I've attached a map of the track to indicate the main gate and the Car Corral location. During the event: 1. Spectating: You are free to visit any spectator areas or grandstands within the track confines. The outer parts of the track is a great place to watch the racing, and the Car Corral will be in a prime location. a. I strongly encourage everyone to bring folding chairs, umbrellas, etc. If bringing canopies, make sure you have a way to secure them down if it is windy. Use best judgement here. b. We are still confirming if the group will have Paddock access while racing is going on. This is TBD. 2. Technical: We've asked one of our racers (Scott Luttrell) to bring his STU race car MINI by the Corral during the day. Assuming it's running, he'll be stopping by! 3. A live audio broadcast from the announcing booth will be on FM 88.7 Lunch Track Touring laps: 1. Lunch laps: Lunch time laps are limited to 25 and first come first served. Chris will shuttle everyone to paddock and grid. 2. We expect this will happen between 11:45 and 12:30, depending on track cleanup and race group schedules. This could be earlier or later. 3. Lunch laps will follow the Track Tour rules here. Food & Snacks (COVID): 1. There will be coffee and doughnuts waiting when you arrive. 2. We will also be providing light individual portion snacks and coolers with chilled beverages. 3. Due to the continuing uncertainty of COVID and logistics, we won't be able to provide a grill for lunch: a. The 'Che Summit' concession stand will be open in the race paddock. Burgers/dogs/nachos, etc. will be available for purchase. b. Your participants can bring their own meals, grills, snacks, etc. There are no outside food restrictions at the track! c. Your participants can bring beer, wine, alcohol, etc. Just no intoxicated driving during lunch touring laps, which should be fairly obvious

Recommendation for good Shop to work on Modified R56
1975_mini replied to Rob Mc's topic in Maintenance & Modifications
I do all my work in VA, but I can highly recommend GTPeace in Chantilly. Great shop that is comfortable with everything from routine service to track builds. A tuned ecu will not bother them.
