  1. Scoopie's dash looks spectacular, it's not fake CF and you can tell. Now I just want to figure out the best way to glue it on since you had so many issues with the 2 sided tape
  2. I actually looked into that option and besides the cost, you have to remove the whole dash which looked to be a challenge, given there are airbags etc. In my younger days I would have saved up, bought the dash and done it but I was a gear head then. Now I just want to glue this thing on top and be done with it. I think the ones I found were around $600 to $800 but I can't remember now. Ali
  3. Audrey had this dash in Scoopie and I love it http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-MINI-COOPER-S-R50-R52-R53-DASHBOARD-CARBON-CF-COVER_W0QQitemZ200412377287QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item2ea98230c7 It's installed with double sided tape though and she's had some issues with getting it to stick properly, she has areas she's had to go back in and glue. My mirror covers and bonnet scoop both have a similar cover and I remember how difficult the double sided tape is to work with because you can't reposition it and it sticks too early. I am thinking of ordering the dash and removing the tape then install using silicone glue. I suspect it should work better since it's goopy and dries softer then other glues. My thought is a hard glue would not hold up to the rattling in the MINI. I figure with clear silicone I can just shave off any that oozes out where I don't want it. I'm just wondering, anyone see any flaws in this idea? Would it hold up during the various temps? It's basically the same stuff in a clear caulk. Ali
  4. That was fun, felt like we were right in the car with you :congrats: Ali
  5. Are the snow tires on rims? Ali
  6. I would prefer Sat both because of the food options at the restaurant and also because I could barely drag my butt out of bed at 6:00 this morning. I sent Mark an email about a party and he said he was too tired to think about it or ever doing anything
  7. Great video Jay, liked the music too. What was that? Ali
  8. That's the end of our vacation in Cape May New Jersey, we'll be heading home that weekend. So close yet I know we won't make it
  9. anyone want to see the pics I took they're right here http://picasaweb.google.com/AliDrew/20100418DCMMSpringFling# I got a few shots of people smiling in their MINI's, nothing like happy MINI people Ali
  10. That was fun! Thanks Hamesh, Laura and Alan for facilitating such a wonderful day of MINI fun. I just exported the data from my Garmin, but I can't figure out how to share all the details. Here's the overview though, I had auto stop on so the clock s
  11. I'm so excited, this is the first run that my husband is joining me on. I gave Tigger a quick bath this afternoon. The camera is by the door and I have the new walkie talkies all charged up. I'm really looking forward to this :motor: Ali
  12. I'm going to bring my running garmin to record the route and what ever speeds Tigger happens to hit. Hoping it's a top down day! Ali
  13. I wanna come too. I am having Mike do the vinyl work on Tigger during MOTD so I should probably not wax him, right?
  14. I just checked my Droid which uses Google maps, It's sending me I- 81 to I-40 to TN 115/ 129 so to be safe I should print the directions and map info from the MOTD site. I do have the traffic option but don't know if it would re-route or not. I just thought I'd check and see if it knew anything Ali
  15. I'll test my Droid tonight and see what route it pops out. It uses google maps but it doesn't have an option to alter the route. I hope they add that functionality one day. Ali
  16. Thanks this helps a lot! Ali
  17. I have never been to the dragon so I'm confused. How are they planning all of these runs if there is a road closure on the dragon? Is it just a small portion of the dragon that we won't be able to drive while we're there? Also Can anyone suggest the best route for getting down there from the DC area? I'm afraid my Droid Google maps app won't know about road closures and I'm so unfamiliar with the area that I may get us lost before we realize we are heading into a dead end or something. I'm so excited about our first trip down there but I'm also kind of confused. Thanks Ali
  18. Scoopie's so pretty!
  19. arrrgh I just found the post. I'll try next time Ali
  20. I love tagging MINI's I've been on a streak of tagging myself lately. A few weeks ago I even found the owner with the MINI and chatted about the club with them.
  21. Scoopie and and Tigger could be brother and sister, we have to get a photo of them together. Ali
  22. Tigger's got eyes!!!
  23. The Dragon eyes look so tough! Back when I was looking for the rogue eyes Detroit tuned was out of stock, maybe they are carrying them now. I remember I got so obsessed with wanting the eyes that I did eventually order them from the guy in England. And here I've never installed them.
  24. Maybe I can do them on Tues too, depending on what time I get out of work
  25. Do you need any volunteers? Where is it going to be? Ali
