  1. I had a dream that I saw Cricket and waved, What does this mean? I'm dreaming about waving to MINI's :wavey:
  2. Craig gets way more then my mileage. I just would like to get something a tad better, but I guess it won't happen. I did read that a lot of the mods that are recommended can increase performance and gas mileage, so maybe as I add more it will get a bit better. Ali
  3. Craig I'll come over to your place and dump it in your neighbors yard that wouldn't even notice,
  4. Oh how you torture me Craig :banghead: I guess it's a gen 1 thing, my gas mileage is really bad. I wonder if I can toss a can of seafoam in the tank once a week, will it help?
  5. I paid $90 at PMoA, but now that I'm out of warranty I should learn to do it myself. I used to change my own oil all the time back in the 80's. Has the process changed much? drain the oil out, remove the filter with the oil filter wrench. Close it up and add new oil. right? How do you properly discard the old oil? I'm going to check out those YouTube videos Ali
  6. I'm not really sure, I think every few months. I did figure out that it's when I toss it in the tank that it improves the gas mileage. Last weekend when Craig helped me do my second Seafoam we put almost the whole can in the pvc valve. It smoked like crazy and is more responsive but there was no change in gas mileage. I just happened to have another can so this morning I put that in and my gas mileage jumped from 17 mpg to 19 mpg with an average speed of 17 mph. I hate all the city driving, I rarely get to see any decent gas mileage.
  7. I'm still getting comments from the neighbors asking if my car is OK after doing the seafoam on Sat. This time gas mileage didn't get better, but we barely put any in the tank, so I'm thinking that is what made the difference. Ali
  8. It's really cool AND Whalen has generously donated a custom shift knob as one of the prizes for the rally in Aug. Ali
  9. Congratulations!!!! :congrats: You will love it! :motor:
  10. Did the seafoam today, this time I let it sit for a good 30 mins, I got SMOKE!!! I drove it across the street to Craig's to show him it was smoking. He had me take it down the street again keeping the rpm's high. It stunk so bad too, kind of like burning rubber. The smoke lasted about 10 mins and then was gone. Later one of the neighbors asked if my car was alright, let's just say there were some stares. Already I notice he's more responsive, the results are quick.
  11. I just had a good little group of waves. First I saw this really pretty dark red (sorry don't know the real name of the color) Clubbie. It was obviously loved as it was so shiny and pretty. So I tagged it with a note saying how pretty it was. Then I got my first wave from a classic Mini, he was a good waver too, big smile, I really felt the fun :wavey: Then I got a wave from a Chili red MINI just a min or so later. I was happy
  12. Before you give up you could look at a used MINI. They're just as fun and could be more affordable for you. That's what I did to get Tigger, but now I know when it's time for my next one I'll be able to afford a newer one. Could be better then no MINI at all. Ali
  13. We'll let you know when we're doing it again. There are also a few youtube videos that show how to do it on a MINI. It's really easy Ali
  14. I really enjoyed the run on Monday and I wasn't even driving my own car. I had a blast driving Koop. Brian you picked some really nice roads
  15. Spike - Did they fix the issue you were having with it over the weekend? Ali
  16. I just updated the details on the rally. After doing some test runs we dropped the White's ferry crossing from the run, it had the potential to really backlog the whole day and that just would not have been fun. Since the ferry is dropped I lowered the
  17. My Tigger found me too. I got him at Carmax in Sterling. I had been searching the internet and I really wanted an orange convertible (I had no idea back then that the orange ones only came in convertibles). I found two of them at Carmax and I called to have one reserved for a test drive. One was an S the other wasn't, I honestly knew very little about the MINI but said to reserve the S. I went in, looked that the two cars and they were very similar in mileage but the S was $1,000 more, it had been sitting on the lot longer so they'd dropped the price. I took it for a test drive and I drove like a whimp, the sales guy kept telling me to go ahead and punch it, but I was scared to. Geeesh :embarassed: So I said decided to take the S because it had a hood scoop and I thought that was cuter. NOW, I know I made the right decision and have been happy with my Tigger since day one. :motor: I did buy the first car I test drove, but I had researched enough cars online, knew my price point and had some idea of what I wanted. If I bought another MINI I'm sure it would be a very different process as I actually know something now, but I agree, not to let the sales guy pressure you. Good luck in your search Ali
  18. I'm riding shotgun with Craig. Back is bothering me so I really don't want to drive the car for hours. Ali
  19. I need to do mine again, I'm noticing my gas mileage slipping back again. Ali
  20. I love the covered bridge shot, where is that?
  21. I wish I could go but I'm running my blood drive that day. Ali
  22. After the Tigger song is the Dub Pistols AC/DP then comes Low Rider
  23. Craig also pointed out some road kill when we were watching it
