  1. Marty I still can't believe the dealer would miss that. It took Way all of a few seconds to see it. the windshield graphic looks great! Ali
  2. It is the same building style as Passport MINI. I like the black, it looks mean!
  3. Hey Craig you still get credit for the final push to get the pulley. OK, before I drove Kooper I had no intention of doing any engine mods at all, it really is all your fault. Edge is now just baiting me to get more, more, more..... Just wait till Tigger hits the Dragon next year :motor:
  4. It's not like anyone ever wants to sit in the back anyway. My dogs are the only ones comfortable back there. Ali
  5. I don't even know what a shock tower plate is. Last time I got into car engines was in the early 80's and engines were very different back then. It's going to take me years to get Tigger all fast and modded up, I plan to enjoy each and every step of it. I was thinking Cold Air Intake next or exhaust because I love the sounds of some of the beefier exhausts. Ali
  6. Hopefully Scoopie can come next year and get some presents
  7. I'm so confused, I don't even know which to do next... I guess that could be a whole other thread. Exhaust, cold air intake, suspension, brakes..... oh and I can't forget the sway bar Ali
  8. Ooooh how you bait me. I'll catch up, just give me some time
  9. Brian got his pulley installed because he saw Tigger getting a pulley. Way told Brian that Tigger was going to be faster and suddenly Brian was the next in line. I got the pulley and the flames :-) Tigger's first mod
  10. I saw you Alan, and Daniel and Celia and wolftoy There were a ton of us there, good pics too I found pics of me driving Tigger up the Dragon and Koop coming down the Dragon. Ali
  11. There are a ton of pics of DCMM members riding the Dragon on Friday. Lots of good pics too. Ali
  12. Audrey - We did the lazy bonnets up in the parking lot of the Microtel. There were 2 gen ones so we each raised our bonnets at dark and took the pics. It was fun even if we weren't on the dragon. Ali
  13. I had a blast the whole time. Tigger got his first mod and the flames. After that long drive home I washed and did a quick wax with slick just to see him all pretty and free of the road grime. I learned a ton about my car and love it even more now. I still smile every time I hear the new sound of the engine from my new pulley or when I see those flames!!! What to do next? I drove the Dragon twice once before the pulley and once after, there was a difference for sure. I really noticed it going home on the big up hills, Tigger was keeping up much easier. I uploaded a slew of pics http://picasaweb.google.com/AliDrew/20100430# http://picasaweb.google.com/AliDrew/20100501# http://picasaweb.google.com/AliDrew/20100502# Thanks to Craig, Marty and Rick for leading us home. I've never done a caravan like that before. It was way better then driving alone. Can't wait for next year. Ali
  14. I just spoke with Bill who has the bolts and is bringing them tomorrow. So not sure if you're getting one or two sets but better then none :-)
  15. Tali and I are working together to try and accomplish this. He's calling now to see if the parts are in stock, if they are, he's picking them up and bringing them to me in DC at my work. I'll bring them with me and have them to Fontana by tomorrow It's the MINI network at it's finest. I will let you know more after he calls and confirms that he has the part. Ali
  16. Edge - If MINI of Annapolis can transfer the bolts to Passport MINI I can get them and bring them with me. Passport is 3 miles from my house. We leave tomorrow night so I could get there right before 6:00 Let me know if that would work. My cell is 703-201-6899 if you can get them to do the transfer. Ali
  17. Glass artists can discuss glue for hours. That one looks good, it's pricey but if it works worth it Ali
  18. In my glass art we use a lot of glues, and super glues can become brittle after time or in cold. Generally we go for something with give and flexibility which made me think of silicone. But I'm not sure how durable that is in the cold either.
  19. You may have an issue with the Krazy glue when the weather gets cold. If the glue goes brittle it could let loose, but then you have the tape holding it all in so it would just need to be glued again.
  20. Scoopie's dash looks spectacular, it's not fake CF and you can tell. Now I just want to figure out the best way to glue it on since you had so many issues with the 2 sided tape
  21. I actually looked into that option and besides the cost, you have to remove the whole dash which looked to be a challenge, given there are airbags etc. In my younger days I would have saved up, bought the dash and done it but I was a gear head then. Now I just want to glue this thing on top and be done with it. I think the ones I found were around $600 to $800 but I can't remember now. Ali
  22. Audrey had this dash in Scoopie and I love it http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-MINI-COOPER-S-R50-R52-R53-DASHBOARD-CARBON-CF-COVER_W0QQitemZ200412377287QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMotors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories?hash=item2ea98230c7 It's installed with double sided tape though and she's had some issues with getting it to stick properly, she has areas she's had to go back in and glue. My mirror covers and bonnet scoop both have a similar cover and I remember how difficult the double sided tape is to work with because you can't reposition it and it sticks too early. I am thinking of ordering the dash and removing the tape then install using silicone glue. I suspect it should work better since it's goopy and dries softer then other glues. My thought is a hard glue would not hold up to the rattling in the MINI. I figure with clear silicone I can just shave off any that oozes out where I don't want it. I'm just wondering, anyone see any flaws in this idea? Would it hold up during the various temps? It's basically the same stuff in a clear caulk. Ali
  23. That was fun, felt like we were right in the car with you :congrats: Ali
  24. Are the snow tires on rims? Ali
  25. I would prefer Sat both because of the food options at the restaurant and also because I could barely drag my butt out of bed at 6:00 this morning. I sent Mark an email about a party and he said he was too tired to think about it or ever doing anything
