Finally got my coilovers installed! After speaking with the technicians at PTuning, I only went 1" lower as that puts the control arms right at parallel with the ground which is ideal for handling purposes. I think it looks great, and it handles amazingly!! Can't wait for the next run!

On a side note, I wasn't aware until last night that PTuning offered 10% discount on labor to DCMM members, so I got to use that! AWESOME!!!

Looks great. We have club discounts with PTuning and GTPeace. We will be working to re-establish agreement with other vendors in the near future.

NCC is hosting the fifth and FINAL autocross event of their 2021 season on October 2nd on the Washington Circuit at Summit Point Motorsports Park. Registration is open through September 30th. The cost is $35 for the morning or afternoon session and $55 for both. This year they are requiring all participants be members of the BMWCCA (NCC is the local chapter). In-car instruction is back, along with ride-alongs and loaner helmets.

We've had a few MINIs out at each 2021 event, and it's a great way to meet other MINI drivers and test the limits of your MINI's handling.

Let me know if you have any questions or if you'll be there!

Johnny has a strut that's starting to leak. I'm thinking about upgrading to coilovers. Does anyone have any recommendations?

You have the upgraded JCW suspension, those are really good springs, keeping your springs and replacing the stunts with koni yellows is a very cost effective and great handling solution. This does not let you adjust ride height it would be what you have now. This is the setup that Colin has run for years, if that helps rate the handling.

If you want to adjust ride height then go with an adjustable coil over setup KW has a few variants depending on how much adjustability you want.

Happy to talk more about it at the meeting.

  4. You mentioned you do not plan on putting a lot of mileage on the MINI. So would you really get that much service. Like you said you are paying for the last 4 years. If you are doing 10k a year that’s 4 oil changes ($100 ea), likely one brake job ($600ish), a few air/cabin filters($200). So let’s call it a $1000 in service.

if it’s a manual and you are hard on the clutch and it is absolutely worth it. One clutch job pays for it.

otherwise you have to be putting miles on it to see the value.

    just my two cents

Looking for some advice. My 2013 Roadster S clutch slipping, smooth gear change, no rattling, no vibration, no burning smell. Just slipping under load

Best guess and best place for repairs

    Thank you

    David

Does the pedal feel very stiff or and easy push?

GTPeace is where I had mine replaced. Way better prices then dealer, while still getting MINI certified techs.

Finishing up now for 0900 at Annapolis. How about everyone else?

They only had 3 available spots...but Montgomery and Baltimore are looking quite available. May end up switching to allow wife and kids to join along.

I think the Delmarva club was signing up for Annapolis, so that  might have filled a lot of there spots
