All, the lunch is a pack your own (damn covid) the lunch break will be at a park pavilion in sterling. The exact location will be in your packets at the start.

Just go on Amazon and order a front tow hook lisence plate mount. They are like 15 bucks and you don’t have to drill holes in the bumper. Just make sure it is fora 2001 to 2006 mini
Or there are several picks parts around Maryland with gen 1s in them just take the mount of one and will be 10 bucks or so.

Not planning on MOTD this year since I don't go every year and I'd rather go when it's in "full swing" since it's been a few years.
With MTTS also canceled this year, I'm mulling MINI summer / fall vacation plans. (I still believe with all of the driving we do, it can be done safely)
That said - and this might not be the correct forum - if anyone hears of organized MINI events being held, please post. I haven't checked to see if MINIs in the Mountains is going to be held, but that's an event I've never attended (due to designated vacation time and $$ to MTTS or MOTM) that could be justified this year in absence of the other events. Other ideas?
I try to post external events especially those of our neighboring clubs. With everyone looking for summer plans I will be sure to post the ones I find. I know Dale with Hampton Roads MINIs is planning a summer run on the east coast since MTTS is cancelled. It is in the early stages so no details yet, but Dale does really good multiday runs and it may be a good alternative.

For those that haven't seen the social media posts or are not on the MOTD emailing list, the event has moved to a non-official event. This means there will be not formal events (i.e. welcome dinner, bingo, brew swap, Farewell Dinner) and there will not be formally host runs. That being said Brandy and I will still be headed down as we have a cabin in Fontana Village and with so of the management changes lets just say I am "pot committed" to use a poker term. I know quite a few folks are also still making the pilgrimage, for surrounding clubs and like me will still be doing their run for anyone that wants to tag along.
Is anyone here still going or are the first timers that are still going down?
If you are a new to the Dragon, please post below and I will be sure that you are introduced and included in all the informal opportunities the will be happening.

One more spot just opened up as I have decided not to join. 37 degrees and summer tires on wet roads might not be the best choice. Have fun, see you all soon! Hurry up warm weather!
Steve, check your email
UPDATE: if you are a yes RSVP please check your email, for important information about the Mistress run.

I went with VIP custom's quad light bar, also available as a dual light setup. I included the link the the Gen 3 parts they offer below. The quad light bar is extra sturdy, their light set up mounts between the subframe and bumper making it very strong, might support a person. They also sell the setup will lights or I ordered Hella Black 500 Magic driving lights separately.

I haven't done all that I wanted to.
Roxy ('12 JCW Coupe) got new Haawk hps pads, slotted rotors, and steel braided lines front and rear. I also did a radio upgrade and installed a 15w radio with a external 3db antenna, no one can say they didn't hear the turn calls now.
Watson ('75 MINI 1000) got a new fuel tank and lines.

There is updated infomation in the event discription. The Main changes are:
1) event is limited to 20 MINIs! The 15 that already RSVP'd are locked in, so there are only 5 spots left. Don't wait to RSVP.
2) Due to hours of operation changes and COVID restrictions, the lunch stop is at a park and it is pack your own lunch, restroom are available.
3) The ending winery has shifted to Rappahannock Cellars, still in the Hume, VA area.

I want to do just the hood in black or the whole hood or a different strips in black
Just something different but black
If you are wrapping the entire hood you need to use a product like 3M's 1080 series vinyl wrap. When it comes to full panel wraps the quality and proper time of vinyl is very important. Using a sub-par product will never get you the result you want.
If you are doing stripes or some other type of design, a sign shop can cut the pieces, make sure the are using a quality cast vinyl like oracal 651 or 751, as what the color waranty is on the material.
Or you can always Plastidip.
-
Can you give a little more detail are you looking to wrap the entire hood to include the incorporated front fenders a different color, or are you looking to change up the stripe/different graphic on the hood. Just want to be sure we are giving you proper advise on materials, etc...

This looks like so much fun. Can I officially join and have my daughter as my co-pilot?
Absolutely, you just have to buy a single membership for yourself. You can find it in the website store. Your daughter is definately welcome to join you as your co-pilot.

Ali threw me under the bus so I will weigh-in.
Looking at your photo your common de-chrome points are the grille surrounds, door handles, beltline, headlight beezles, and MINI badging.
there are a few ways to go about it:
- the expensive way: they sell snap over or replacement pieces for the surround, beezles, door handles, and badges. This gets expensive very quickly exspecially on a gen 3 as everyone is still trying to make a buck off you.
- cheapest option: plastidip, this is a spray on vinyl that can be pealed off when you no longer want it. advantages are cost, color and finish options, and pretty easy to do. Having someone give to the tips and help, makes sure it is done well.
You also can have pieces vinyl wrapped, which will fall somewhere between to two in cost, again this can be done on your own or by a shop. The pieces are not full of complex curves, so if you have the pacients you can save a few bucks doing it yourself, or pay a shop to save your sanity.
*** My recommendation for whats thats worth:
- order knights edition front and rear MINI badges (they're black) and because they are OEM they look the best, IMO.
- order door handle covers (your will be touching these alot and PD will not hold up well over time)
- grille surrounds and headlight beezles: plasti-dip (the cover pieces are over priced and the PD will hold up fine) or wrap yourself in vinyl
- beltline on gen2 MINIs standard electrical tape is a perfect fit, and you can do two MINIs for like $1.96 I am not sure on the width of the gen 3 beltline. You can order beltline kits (proper width vinyl on a roll) for not a bad price. Try sites like detriottuned.com
I would wait till spring to do it, as warmer weather ensure better bonding of the parts, also clean areas you are installing very well and then use rubbing alcohol to remove any wax and particals. There are a few of us that have done a few and we are always willing share lessons learned or lend a hand.

Event Title: (External Event) MINI of Baltimore: Toy Drive and Rally
Event Date: 12/09/2020 12:00 AM to 12/09/2020 08:00 PM
Event Address:
RSVP on the event here: (External Event) MINI of Baltimore: Toy Drive and Rally
There is a Toy Drive and Rally to see the Merriweather Symphony of Lights hosted by MINI of Baltimore & Porsche of Townson next Wednesday, the 9th, at 5 p.m. The meetup is at MINI of Baltimore at 5 p.m. with a 5:30 departure to Merriweather. Its a socially distant event, so you stay in your vehicle and hand them a toy (or pop the boot for them to get it) and they hand you a prepaid ticked to the Light show. They are asking for unwrapped gifts for the Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital and they have a wishlist link if you need ideas (in the link below). I realize that some of you are in D.C. and Virginia and can't make it to MINI of Baltimore before they leave at 5:30 p.m. However, for those of you who want to donate a toy and attend the link is below. I have a toy coming in via Amazon and will be there unless something big comes up.
Looking forward to seeing other MINIs,
Garrett

If you are interested in going this year and staying on Fontana village shoot me a message. there are several folks looking for people you fill there cabins, and I would be glad to put you in contact.

I am guessing you have a F56 JCW if you have a manual, as the GP3 did not come with a manual option. If I am incorrect, then it is not a clutch issue the GP does not use a dual clutch configuration. It uses a torque converter, and you issue is likely hydraulic related.
Here are the a links for clutch kits for a 2020 JCW

Can you clarify a bit, so we can help. Is the MINI a 2006 model year GP1 or a 2020 model year GP3?
