  1. I LOVE those wheels. Even cleared, it can be easy to mask, sand, fix/fill the rash, sand and paint & clear. depends on the level of rash if you should do the whole wheel, imo.
  2. I like low, but still function>form. sorry to hear about all that, Ricky!
  3. I did mine, including fixing some rash, for about $65 in materials, and about 4.5 hours of work. It really isn't hard. Are your rims flat, or cleared? I have a step by step(with pics)if you are interested.
  4. Subscribed. Great idea for a thread!
  5. so, ahhhhhhhh. . .did ya email her? lol:biggrin:
  6. Nice to have another 1st gen on board! Grey for the color is kinda generic, but if you pop that bonnet, you will see what color you are on the left brace, EX: Dark Silver. . . . MINIs meet all over the place. The longer you spend with the group, you will see that there are may Club organized meet and greets/runs/gatherings, but there are also lots of impromptu get togethers and what not. there are also LOTS of photography enthusiasts/pros here too. Tiggrr, and Merlin are the resident photo buffs(I would love to be in those ranks), and handle a LOT of the photography with the group runs. I like your shots, ad I am sure that others will agree. Great people work! EDIT: I hope you aren't the same jonniehenreqiz that has been bumping 2+ year old threads on another site that I mod on. . . if so, don't be a PITA here, please. Also, don't call people racial slurs.
  7. whatever it was, it was down for anything. Perhaps a Geo Metro?
  8. While I have never me the OP, or Sarah, if she gets mad over an annon note left on a car, that is just dumb. Sounds like my my ex(Not Dana for those that know us). . . . .HER:I had a dream that you cheated on me, you better apologize! me: What?? I just woke up! Amy has a most unusual middle name: thecarbehindyou. Is that Slovak?
  9. had to make a rather impromptu run down to Virginia Beach over the weekend, and I gotta say, the Hampton Roads MINI community is awesome(not that you guys/gals aren't). EVERY MINI I passed, I got a wave from!! Was awesome! After getting back in to FFX, I saw, for about the 100th time, REDMINI. Wish I knew if they were on here. All red, tinted out, jcw grill, euro plate up front that says REDMINI, and a really clean looking MINI over all, love it.
  10. I am sure everyone had a great time! Sorry I missed out, last years was so fun!
  11. http://dcmetrominis.org/forum/topic/2043-spring-cleaning-sale/
  12. I have the same set, if you have a 4x100 they will fit. They are a 17inch, and, if I am not mistaken, when I originally got mine, Edge mentioned that they even fit over the Big Brake kit. Certainly a great price!
  13. Nice, I like the Storm Trooper look! I am thinking that one of these is going to be my next MINI purchase.
  14. Yeah, if you are happy with the ones(style)you have, I can walk you through a DIY, or do it. It's a straight forward project, as you can see here: If you are looking to get new, then the sky is the limit, what's the budget? There are a LOT of 16/17inchers with the 4x100 bolt patters, just depends on the offset, and what you want.
  15. beside installing an air horn set up, I don't understand why anyone would do a swap that WASN'T operated by the stock horn buttons. Honestly, I want to do both, I would like to have my stocks replaced with hella supertones for just daily driving, and those kind of "gentle" nudges where you don't want to blow someone away, BUT I want a set up like Celia(Stickers)has for those moments that I am sure everyone has, and you're like, "WTF, ARE YOU SERIOUS", and want them to snap back to reality, and remind them that while behind the wheel, DRIVING should be the Number 1 priority, not talking on the cell/putting on make up/being clueless to others around you. As for replacing the stock horns, I though it would go without saying that they need to be operated by the factory wheel mounted buttons.
  16. Today was easily, by a LONG shot, the MOST MINI's I had ever seen out and about, AND. . . The MOST waves I have EVER gotten back! Have a best friend in town, haven't seen in years, took on the nickle&dime tour of NOVA/DC today, saw SO many MINIS it was kinda silly, and I got a total of 11 waves! I don't know who any of them were, but hell, I can go a month and be surprised to get a single wave, so today was just awesome!lol. Stopped in falls Church at Ba Lee for some Banh Mi, and talked to a MINI owner, Chen, gave a card and hope that he will come over to say hi. Had a great looking first gen, with an awesome stance(god I want to go a little lower), and was a really enthusiastic MINI owner. VIVA LA MINI WAVE!
  17. I want to say it was $33? IIRC, they don't issue it/allow you to renew, until you have paid your personal property tax though, so basically, it's just a revenue maker.
  18. You hit the nail on the head. Anything can be done, if you have the cash to so it. I was please with my replacement from MachV, not a fin, but very short, all metal, and blends well with the car. Good luck on your shark hunt!
  19. Yeah, that really makes no sense, and seems like just another way to separate people, from their money. That is some schiesty business. I know that this is a different example, but now, in the City of Fairfax, we are required to have a City Sticker. I had mine, didn't install it due to, well, forgetting all about it. . .got a ticket, had to go to court to say "yes, I have it, and it's on the windscreen", Dismissed. BUT, there were like 8 others, that are attending Mason, have VA tags, NOT LIVING IN FAIRFAX CITY, but were ticketed because the Officer "saw the vehicles for more than a week" and ticketed them all. All were dismissed, but still, what a crock, and a waste of time.
  20. I am curious to see about this stuff. What are your thoughts? Any pics, before/after?
  21. lol, sounds like a hoot, and, well, an honor! I think it would be quite the compliment to get booted, and ticketed, CONGRATS!
