  1. Nice, looks like you had a pretty calm night to be out there! Got a new camera now, so am Jonesing to get out, as soon as I am able, and do some night shooting! The first shot is nice, I like it a lot. With Flickr, noise/artifacts seem to sometimes be an issue, but is is very hit or miss, I know your frustration. Certainly still one of the best hosting sites out though(Imo).
  2. Perfect. Might be the way to retouch/redo my rims. Got out to the MINI for the first time in a week or 2, my dad was the last to drive, and left me with some GREAT curb rash to sort out, but the rims need a good going over with black again anyways.
  3. Good Lord! Do the Plasti Dip people know the cult like following they have? WOW! Is that a WHITE plati-dipped MCS?? From the camera shots, I gotta say, Damn, looks pretty nice for a driveway job, would LOVE to see it in person, and take a real look at it. Only thing I would have done different, is left the rear inserts to each side of the reverse lights black. . .but I mean, wow, that's pretty damn good for a lot job(I would send PD Pics!). My Li'illi Ka'a has been sitting, Dad used it for the time he was here helping me post-op, and glad to have it being turned over. BUT, I finally managed to make the walk out to the resident lot I had to park it at, in my space(My handicapped pass is in use by Dana so she can tote me around) and was doing a walk around. . . .my poor MINI, it's in such sad shape, if it made me want to cry, I can only imagine how SHE feels. . . It had had a day with Mr.Rockwell at Alexandria getting all new brakes, rotors, and a few other lil things, so I wanted to just SEE my MINI. . . My. MINI. IS. FILTHY. My rims, that I did well over a year ago, look like they might be in need of some TLC and this thread has certainly got me thinking of the PD route. Does the PD dry texture free? Is it a flat product? For some reason I have always though of it as more of a spray in bed liner type "paint", you know, with a little texture to it, or am I way off in this assumption?
  4. DCMM has a waze group??
  5. AWESOME!
  6. Joined as well. Was checking out some of your site too, your water lily reminded me of a water lily shot I forgot I had, one of my favorite flowers: A few from Annapolis too https://picasaweb.google.com/107358116562096230364/AnnapolisShots?authuser=0&feat=directlink Wouldn't mind doing a shoot at the greenhouse up by the capitol building either. . . we just need a bunch of DCMM Photo gigs, sheesh.
  7. I will dedicate to buy, if you want to consider it sold. Anyone know how hard an install this will be, lol?
  8. Yup. Poop.
  9. Well, that's just it: I would love to read some reviews/testimonials, as well as see some examples of their craftsmanship. . . and ya can't:frown: They reviews Google provide all stink, the reviews in Baltimore.cityseach all suck. . . all the more reason they should have a site that features what they say they can do, not have the features installed, yet do nothing with 'em. Just a little bit of an internet peeve for me.
  10. Welcome to DCMM!
  11. I hate that after 20 years in business, they have such an antiquated site. I remember the site from 3 years ago, or so, and nothing has been updated. Everything you click on from the gallery, to testimonials, stall all says "Coming Soon".
  12. You should have the option to attach them from your computer, to your post. Look for the little paperclip icon in the top part of the reply box, next to the lil Smiley face icon.
  13. Ohhh, and it does time-lapse!! Me likey.
  14. IIRC, it was basically this: http://www.adorama.com/AEOLSIICN3.html?utm_term=Other&utm_medium=Shopping%20Site&utm_campaign=Other&utm_source=gbase That is a budget price when compared to the almost $400 one offered on other sites. they may have been discontinued(according to B&H)but can be found. Here is a pretty comprehensive review: http://mansurovs.com/aeo-photo-lightning-strike-pro-review
  15. I too have seen 'em, but can't justify the price of 'em. .. I have found another make, that offers the same thing, but is sold for like $120, iirc. I have the page bookmarked at work, and will update tomorrow.
  16. I believe the technical term is: Suffering from an acute case of Cerebral Flatulence, lol. And no worries. I just wasn't sure if there was an option I hadn't explored. I do almost exclusively bulb when I am doing long exposures, and just having the mirror locked up would be an advantage, especially when trying to capture lightning shots.
  17. I am not sure if Terry is doing them yet, but, fortune auto has pretty decent coil overs, and I know he has them for a lot of BMWs. . .I'll see if he has any plans for MINI.
  18. Hrmm, I am not sure, maybe it's a Nikon thing(I know you shoot for the Dark Side), but I can only to a mirror lock up for a dust reference photos. I like the idea of being able to lock it up, especially for star trail projects I have done, and want to do. . .I just don't like the sensor warming involved with exposures over 20min. But that little jiggle, even with a delayed shutter, drives me bonkers with that project in particular. A straight up mirror lock up is an advantage. Nice little insight, thanks CMV!
  19. Also, I LOVE night shooting, and almost prefer longer shutter speed(bulb, full manual, and remote, rear curtain flash), and sunrise/sunset shooting. One of the BEST things I can offer, is set your shutter to go off a few seconds AFTER you touch the button if doing it manually. This eliminates and micro movement of releasing the tripod. . . even subtle movement will will KILL sharpness. Just the shutter shale alone can be a P.I.T.A. I would be down for a PM shoot and meet, so long as it's a slow pace, lol.
  20. Some of my favorite local content to shoot, actually. I'll share a few of mine: feel free to check out my flickr, if ya want http://www.flickr.com/photos/tattrat/
  21. lol, it's my daily routine, though normally, I am in the city by 5am. Today was my "late" day.
  22. Craig, was that you on 123, and FFX Blvd this morning?
  23. Congrats, and welcome! The anticipation would be killing me, good luck with the wait!
  24. welcome! I want Nigels' wheels!
