  1. I prefer these: www.vipcustomparts.com
  2. Try Mach V in Sterling.
  3. Does anyone know for sure whether Fuller & D'Albert still does b&w developing? I think I asked not too long ago and was told no.
  4. Hampton Chase, between Lee Highway and Braddock Road, just past Costco.
  5. Broke the dipstick on my 2004 MCS; anybody got one they aren't using? TIA.
  6. I went last year; it was great.
  7. At the diy tech session with Keith last Saturday someone mentioned that Do It Yourself Mechanics in Sterling was closing. They are no longer answering their phone, so this may have already happened. Sad. Was a really great facility.
  8. I suggest that you also take a test drive in a Clubman, since the longer wheelbase (100" versus 97") may bring some of the 'comfort' you're looking for.

  15. Also consider www.dbbrewingcompany.com, Devils Backbone Brewing Company, near Wintergreen.
  16. I spent two hours at Do It Yourself Mechanics in Sterling earlier today, doing brakes on my Subaru. Fantastic facility, great people. Every bay was occupied.
  17. I'm interested.
  18. I did!
  19. Me too.
  20. I've heard good things about Royal in Sterling.
  21. I'll try; my hard-drive is full and I've had a hard time uploading even a single picture.
  22. I have five (5) 1/24 scale model R-50 MINIs for sale. 4 of them are Maisto; one is something else. $25 takes them all.
  23. The dealers have people that make that kind of repair all the time to cars that they are going to put on their previously owned lot. Call your closest dealer and see if they can work something out.
  24. TVRGeek, I disagree. The filter cannister is a bit tricky and it is quite easy for some grease monkey that has never done one before to screw it up. Recent example - a friend took his 1985 grey market Porsche to a local non-Porsche independent for an oil change. They put the lift points on non-structural parts of the rocker panels. Did $2500 worth of damage.
  25. DIY oil change is something that every self-respecting MINI owner should know how to do. Make it easy on yourself by installing a Fumoto valve. Buy the 36 mm socket (at least thats the size my R53 takes) for the oil filter cannister. With those done, the only tricky part is learning the 'feel' of reinstalling the oil filter cannister. Tricky at first - you don't want to risk cross-threading it - but you'll figure it out.
