  1. I'm selling my 17" S-Lite (R85) wheels, which I was using as my winter set, but now that I've worn the snow tires out, I've decided to go in a different direction. The wheels are in quite good condition, although there are a few minor scrapes. I'm asking $400 for the set. Local sale only (i.e. I'd rather not have to ship them). Brand new MINI center caps will be included (so don't worry about the ones that look worn out). Higher resolution images available on request (I can email them to you). Set of all 4: Wheel 1 close-up: Wheel 2 close-up: Wheel 3 close-up: Wheel 4 close-up:
  2. OK, last Sunday I got my S-Lites (R85) out and cleaned them up. Here they are - as you can see, they are in quite good condition, although there are a few minor scrapes. I'm also going to post these in a "for sale" post. I'm asking $400 for the set. I also have brand new MINI center caps that I will throw in, so don't worry about the ones that look worn out. 3. Solar Solutions. His name is Carlos, although he himself only does tint, not graphics - but he has associates he works with who do graphics at his shop. Incidentally, I can highly recommend Carlos for tint - he does a very good job and stands behind the quality of his work (he'll make it right if there's a problem).
  4. Yeah, mine too! I took a pic of it just like you did. It even touched 103 for a moment or two, but
  5. I'd be up for that. We can use my place as a meeting point for the NoVA folks, if you like - since I live practically next to 495. I'm ope
  6. If it was that simple to repair, why not get it repaired instead of replacing it? Just curious.
  7. I have a set of S-Lites I am looking to part with. While they are not in 100% perfect condition, I believe they are in "good" condition (certainly better than I thought they'd be when I last looked at them). You're welcome to check them out - I won't be asking a whole lot for them! The tires on them now are very worn though, so a new set of tires will be in order.
  8. I just rated it. Gave it 10 of course. However, one correction to make (regarding your post here). It was MOTD8, not MOTD10. The first MOTD was in 2003, so this year was the 8th one. :top:
  9. Shrek 2 is quite old, and most people who have watched any of the Shrek series have probably already seen it. I vote for A-Team & Iron Man 2. I kinda want to see Marmaduke too, but not enough to make me choose it and Shrek 2! One confusing matt
  10. Yeah, Doug Whalen is very well renowned in the MINI community for his shift knobs. They are very, very nice... and a whole bunch of people swear by them.
  11. Awesome, congratulations! :top: I still recommend you take my advice when speccing out your MINI and focusing on steps 1-4 of the configurator.
  12. In some ways, yes... but harder to keep clean, especially against spills.
  13. It's the #1 reason I opted for the leather seats. (Another reason being that I hate the vinyl... oops, sorry, "leatherette" :stupid: seats, because they make my back sweat like crazy in warm weather. The leather doesn't.)
  14. ...which is totally invisible when it comes to service. All of my JCW stuff is fully serviceable at any dealer in the country. That's peace of mind that I truly appreciate.
  15. I stand by my original decision. I'll stick with JCW.
  16. Song 1 is by Aerosmith.Song 2 is by Blue Man Group. Song 3 is by Talking Heads.
  17. One of my favorite quotes from the comments:
  18. I have a slightly different perspective here. First of all, if you really want a MINI but you don't need a MINI right away (i.e. you actually have transportation that will get you by), then don't rush into anything. Secondly, I am of the strong opinion that it is always better to wait and custom order exactly what you want, no unwanted options, and none missing that you kinda/sorta/wish-you-had. After all, MINI is one of the few brands that lets you choose exactly what you want. They do have "combo" packages available to save money, but you don't have to get the packages to get the individual options - you can still do a full "à la carte" order to include just one or two of those pieces of the combo if you like. Usually you have to go to a much more "upscale" brand like Porsche to get that kind of flexibility! Yes, it is a difficult wait from the time you place your order to when the car arrives... but what makes the wait all the more worthwhile is that it's your MINI, not a MINI that someone else specced out and you picked out of a lineup. That's not to say that many of our members who bought off their lot don't feel a total, complete connection of their wonderful cars. Many of them have also done additional modifications (mods) to further "youify" their MINI to be even more unique and special. I'm just pointing out that it's a big decision so if you have some flexibility of time, why rush yourself? Another tip - should you end up deciding to order your own - the way-cool MINI configurator on the MINIUSA.com website has a myriad of options, of course... and you can really "go to town" with them if you like. BUT I highly suggest you completely ignore steps 5 & 6 of the configurator, and focus 100% of your attention on steps 1-4. Why? Simply because steps 5 and 6 represent "dealer-installed" options, which often also include additional labor charges... and steps 1-4 are "factory" options. You only get one shot at choosing your factory options, but the dealer will always be there if you want to add any of the steps 5 & 6 options at at a later date. You're better off concentrating your MINI budget on the factory options that not only avoid labor charges, but many of which are simply not available after the car is built (i.e. factory only!). You'd hate to pass up a factory option you kinda like for a dealer option, and later realize there's nothing you can do about getting it, right? (short of replacing the whole MINI). Just food for thought.
  19. Love the idea (of course), it's been brought up before though... tough to get 350 people to agree to prepay to make this happen. All I can think of to help is if the dealerships wanted to help front the money, but they may not immediately see the benefit to their business in doing so.
  20. That was awesome! Huge props to Laura for a fantastic job - especially considering this was our first ever Scavenger Hunt! I look forward to seeing everybody's pics - I'm sure there are some very amusing ones out there. I'll be uploading mine in th
  21. Dave - if you can't find anyone else to ride with you in Cricket, I should have room for 1 more in Mr. OEM. At the moment I just have my friend Jen and -maybe- my friend Beth who are my teammates, so if you run out of options, you can ride with me. :sm

  25. When you're tagging a lot of MINIs in a short period of time, you don't have time to check all 4 sides of the vehicle! Sorry about that. It's not wasted though - you can reuse it!
