  1. We've already said you were a bad influence
  2. I'm bringing cash. Will cash work?
  3. Glad you could join us, Nancy :wavey: It's nice to have another yellow MINI in the group, to offset all the blue (including mine) -Jim
  4. +1, No rain at all, and I don't think the temp got higher than 76 while we were there. I was probably one of the hotter (temp-wise) folks there, since I helped man the grills
  5. Depends. Are you shooting the 'getting ready' shots of the bride?
  6. ALi - we'll take photos EDIT: Maybe we need a 'Flat Tggrr' to take along, for occasions like this.
  7. The last wave I got was of the one-finger variety
  8. You're bringing Mia Farrow?!
  9. I think we'll just head south on 15. It eventually meets up with 29 and then, 522
  10. Craig - can you shoot me your proposed route? We might try to meet up somewhere. For us it's almost a straight shot due south.
  11. I can't get into the URL from work - it's blocked :\ I'll test from the house later.
  12. There are quite a few places to get stripes made. ToddsMods, as mentioned, Cooper Flags (www.cooperflags.com) both have standard designs, or will work with you. Justin Good st Redline Designs (http://www.redlinedesign.tv) printed my graphics and stripes. He will work with you to make stripes, whatever design you want. But Justin has just gotten into MINIs, so he may need help with dimensions. Also, he works mainly with 'dry; vinyl, which means you need to make sure it's lined up correctly the first time As far as installation goes, There's a guy in Laurel (Solar something-rather) that folks have used. Justin did mine for me last time he was in town. And folks like Todd at Todds Mods might be able to recommend a place locally. Good luck, and have fun choosing your stripes/graphics!
  13. I'll have to look at my video and see if I caught you on cam
  14. Good pictures, everyone. Thanks for sharing! :top: I think I managed to fire off less than a dozen through the entire trip. But I managed to get several hours' worth of video And in the 'small world' category, I realized 3/4 of the way through the t
  15. I'll have 2 GoPros (fore and aft) and a DSLR at the ready! :motor:
  16. We might need to have some navigators on standby, in case a driver finds him or herself without one. Life happens
  17. Nice! :top:
  18. Welcome to the group, and congrats on your MINI! :wavey: A couple of things: 1. A vibration / rattle at certain RPMs usually - to me - means you have something that 'resonates' at a certain frequency. Could be a loose plastic snap connector, could be something in your doors, or glovebox, or elsewhere, that rattles only when you hit that certain frequency - which happens to occur when you rev the motor Can you duplicate the noise sitting still, revving the motor? Is it only while you're rolling? I know for sure that there's 'something' in my er... spare tire well area that rattles when I'm moving. I know for sure that nothing rattled when I took possession of my Clubman, and I've moved/removed enough to eliminate most areas. But I've heard of EZPass transponders being the source of vibration / noise as well. 2. Our cars are made in Europe, so I suspect they follow the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) Regulations. Basically, they allow for certain tolerances to account for various wheel sizes / diameters, and to ensure that a speedometer error doesn't account for speeding. In the US, there's an allowance of 5% (the indicated speed can be more by 5% than actual speed). MINIs aren't the only ones with this issue. But it's not a bug - it's a feature Wish I could help you more. Good luck finding the source of the rattle! :itsme:
  19. +1 to Craig's comments. Props to PMoA for putting all of this together, from the security at the mall parking area, to the local LOEs blocking traffic, to the goodies, food, and fun. There were a few snags due to traffic, but that's the DC area for you
  20. Yellow, black roof, MINI B plate. Turning into Starbucks. Are you MINI BEE? If so, you do have a Doppelganger!
  21. I saw Ryan in Leesburg today. I waved as hard as I could! :wavey:
  22. I have 2 GoPros you can borrow, with 8GB SD cards. Will they allow them? I thought during AutoX events you were to remove all things that could move/shift/bounce around. The cameras "shouldn't" but you never know
  23. What I'm talking about is getting the same POV as having a car driving in front of you, with a rear-facing camera. Special effects / movie production companies have a rig they attach to the car that extends out about 8-10' or so, to point to the car, for that POV. I'm just thinking of something a bit less expensive / technical
  24. We need to fabricate a bar that attaches to the tow hook, that will allow you to point the camera back at yourself, about 4-6 feet in front of the car. THEN you can film yourself, instead of 'drafting' the car in front of you (with a camera facing backward). That would make Pammy happy
