  1. If Nigel ever got his own FB page I'm sure he'd be booted within the first 24 hours, for violating the ToS, among a few other things
  2. 1. Don't be concerned with using a 'taken' name - My car's name is Nigel (as was the MINI before him), and there are plenty of Nigels out there 2. Have you determined if your MINI is a boy or a girl? Some folks out there will have you believe that if your MINI is a manual ('stick') then it's a boy, and automatics are girls. Don't believe them! Only you and your MINI know for sure. Good luck, and welcome to DCMM! :wavey:
  3. Assuming we/I can come, I'll bring my buffer as well. I'm an Adams Polishes user myself, but I have a ton of various products I'm willing to bring, so folks can sample stuff if they'd like. BTW - for those washer fluid stains, try straight vinegar on a microfiber applicator, followed by a straight water (or detail spray) rinse. If that doesn't work, I have some stuff designed to remove hard water spots from glass. I'll see if it's safe for paint.
  4. I figure when Jan has some more data on the JCW engines he might be able to get a wee bit more out of them But with the JCW CAI (that's not a true open-breather like some others) that could be part of my numbers.
  5. For my 2010 R55 JCW. Note that my car is stock, with 15K miles on it. Baseline run, 196 whp, 208 torque. After the tune: 210 whp, 239.6 torque.
  6. I assume this is a 'go' :questionmark:
  7. Did you drown another phone?
  8. Lots of places in town. If you need some recommendations I can pass along a list. Also - a British Pub!
  9. Dan, Since I have to leave my car, fit me in around others as you see fit. If there's any chance I can hang around, it would be the earliest time slot. I hope to have a definitive answer tomorrow. Jim
  10. I'll leave it overnight. I'd just prefer having a witness. Filming the dyno would be cool, too!
  11. We have a greyhound event that entire weekend. HOWEVER - if someone will take care of Nigel for me, I'm in.
  12. Quoting from my friend (several chat messages pasted together): "Most of the restaurants in The Shep are pretty small. Parking is all on the street, but that's not usually a problem. Best bet for a nice, casual lunch would be Mellow Moods. It's kind of a veg-head place, but the food is AMAZING. Great sandwiches, juices, and the like. Maria's Taqueria has fantastic tacos and such, but you'd have to get your stuff to go, because it's teeny-tiny. ...the Farmers Market runs from 9-1, and it's always got great stuff. Ummm ... hmm. Kazu can accommodate that many people easily. It's Thai/Japanese (great Udon soup). Press Room is great, but too fancy. Same for Yellow Brick Bank. Stone Soup is also terrific, but it's on the small side. If it's a really nice, sunny day, it might be hard to find a place with seating for that many (unless you get reservations first). [i asked for places that could accommodate 10-12 folks w/10-12 MINIs]
  13. http://www.google.com/search?q=food+in+shepherdstown+west+virginia&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a The only place I've been is Bavarian Inn. On Sunday's it's brunch, and not cheap. I have a friend that lives (literally) next door to Bavarian Inn, I'll get input from her for food stops.
  14. Food places at Harpers are 'so-so'. Shephardstown WV has a few options.
  15. Lots of good roads, but bugs (gnats/mosquitos) might already be at Harpers Ferry. That area is nasty with bugs in the spring/summer :willy:
  16. I'll see if Jennifer wants to come along (and, as a driver or passenger). We might try to catch you along the way, vice driving to Wegmans just to drive past/near our house on the route Of course, if you need a sweeper or want to break the drive into 2 groups, I'm okay with starting at Wegmans.
  17. Hobbies are expensive Motoring is a hobby. Mods, gas, you name it, all are part of the hobby. Otherwise, we're just a bunch of fuel-efficient commuter cars
  18. I figured that might be the case, but you never know
  19. Are you specifically targetting 2011 models? If so, I'll get permission from my wife to bring her R57 by. If a 2010 will work, I'll bring my Clubman by this week. How long do you need it, and how extensive is this 'exploratory surgery'?
  20. For some reason I thought this was a Friday night. We'll try to make it. I don't know if we have anything else going on - can't see our shared calendar from work, for some reason.
  21. Heh. I was wearing my shirt that says "Paddle faster! I hear banjo music!" when we headed home. I was wondering why some of the locals were giving me dirty looks
  22. A Mac! Here are some options. I cannot give you any personal experience with any of them because... well, I'm a Mac. http://download.cnet.com/1770-20_4-0.html?query=video+editing+software&platformSelect=Windows&tag=srch%3Ba&searchtype=downloads&filterName=platform%3DWindows&filter=platform%3DWindows
  23. Does anyone know who (person or company) had the Monte Carlo edition with the flashing lights? I assume they had Bosch relays, just wondering how it was all wired up.
  24. They're probably selling them at the Dragon, if you're going.
