  1. Slight correction to my earlier post: I need a 16 mm strut nut socket, not 17. I have a 21 mm for the front on order, but no one stocks the 16 for the rear. How do people disassemble and reassemble the rear struts? Will an offset box wrench work? TIA.
  2. Don Elkins used to do that but they have closed.
  3. Fantastic! Thanks! See you then.
  4. And it is no longer available, at least at that Amazon site.
  5. I will probably be there but will NOT need a lift. I am assembling a complete duplicate suspension and have all the parts; however, my spring compressor does not work with the MINI front springs; will someone have (or can you bring) one that does? And, I also need the use of the special sockets (17 and 21 mm) with slotted side that permits an Allen wrench to hold the strut shaft while torquing the top nut. TIA.
  6. Costco currently has the BatteryTender in stock for $40.
  7. Looks promising!
  8. Claims there is an embedded link to the listing but I can't find it.
  9. Doing the change by yourself? If not, by whom?
  10. If they are in reasonably good shape I'll take them; when can I inspect?
  11. You should expect to pay at least $300 in labor for this job at any independent; much more at a dealer.
  12. I drove some friends around the Tidal Basin this (Wednesday) afternoon; still lots of blossoms out.
  13. Randmness: I have heard of supercharger inlet tubes leaking but never 'breaking.' Any idea what caused that?
  14. I stopped in Liberty just recently and spoke with the owner (Jim?) He said that he still welcomes work on MINIs, and that one of his mechanics was trained at Sterling.
  15. They will be at Sterling December 3.
  16. Bold Rock, yes. Brain cramp. According to their website, India Pressed Apple is still only available in growler refills.
  17. I will be in Nelson County next weekend and can get something from Blue Mountain, Devils Backbone, Wild Wolf, and/or Hard Rock Cider. If anyone has any suggestions or requests let me know.
  18. Consider that plug wires should be replaced every 75k. Why you changing the timing gear and chain?
  19. Sucks big time . . .
  20. FYI, fax number at Liberty is 703-683-8754.
  21. Some of those parts are gen-specific; which gen are they?
  22. What about Saturday mornings in Great Falls; when do they start?

Carl: happy to take one set and as it appears I am first to respond I will take the 'best' set. Will pick up on Monday. Thanks!
  25. There is a 2005 DS/B R53 for sale near me. Low miles (99K), looks to be in good condition, but with no apparent options other than chrono pack. Only visible mods are rear wiper delete, window tint, smoked tail lights, and front aero grille inserts. Recent Virginia safety inspection, but owner must have borrowed someone's wheels for the inspection because the front tires are bald. New clutch. Asking $8K. 703-608-1343.
