  1. Cool guys! I'm the other roommate fyi. Well myself and my gf.
  2. And what dunlops and do you want summer or all season tires? I wouldn't recommend nankang tires, cheap chinese junk. I would go for 215/45r17 size if you are looking for a slightly wider tire with next to no consequences. You also open yourself up to many more options that are less than $200 a tire.
  3. It's usually ~600 for r53's and ~800 for r56's.
  4. He does all mini's. I'm in if it's before Helix's party as that's when I was planning on it. Just need it before the dragon. I'm pretty sure D-unit will be in on this too.
  5. If anyone saw a hzb/w on the side of rt193 @ the 295n on ramp friday morning 730am, that was me in a passport loaner. I had just got rear ended by a ford focus.
  6. One easy way to duplicate it is to start it once for ~10-20 seconds, then shut it off and let it sit for a few minutes, then start it back up. It should sound quite loud. Anyway, mine's at pmoa getting it replaced.
  7. Could be worse and been the older mini's with the filter under the exhaust manifold at the back of the engine bay. Sweet garage. My e30 gets jealous because it doesn't run yet (going on 6 months for an s50 swap).
  8. Never had an issue with the window light coming on. I have however had issues were I almost couldn't open the door because the windows didn't drop down, but that was when the entire car was iced over, not just a little frost. I usually just bang on the ice a lil to break it up and it works ok.
  9. As far as i know, it isn't a full blown recall yet, as recalls are usually a safety problem, not a purely mechanical failure. I need to get this done on my r56.
  10. Switch is in the overhead switch thing next to the sunroof switch and overhead light switches.
  11. you got a 22mm bar now huh krutty? Is that the nm brand? how do you like it?
  12. Good call Voyager, I guess I was just wishing they had an oil temp gauge lol. The third gauge is a relative torque gauge (which I find almost as useful as the hp gauge on the bugatti veyron).
  13. Mini just came out with some new dealer installed gauges. I think 3 options are for coolant temp, oil temp, and a g-force gauge. I'm sure I could figure out how to install them with out too many problems.
  14. Normally $20, but for a member we'll do $15 to change the oil with your supplies.
  15. OT: Do you still like the down pipe? Any check engine lights?
  16. If it's a single cam engine, then the filter is on the backside of the engine, between the engine and the firewall towards the passenger side. If it's a dual cam engine, then you have to loosen the coolant bottle and move it out of the way, then you can see the canister on the driver's front of the engine, over the trans. The allen drain plug is 8mm. If you still aren't sure about the filter location, feel free to stop by. I work at the Goodyear on rt 301 in Bowie across from Honda of Bowie. Jeff
  17. Haemish, that still works with the vinyl on the sunroof? Cool. If it isn't something you use everyday, they make suction cup mounts for it. I leave mine in the glove box til I need it, then just stick it to the windshield when I go on a trip.
  18. Damn, as much as I'd love to go, I just can't fit it in. Autox at 730am, College park car show directly after, and I'll be in the bmw, and it doesn't travel in dc. Sorry guys.
  19. On mini's I've only done springs/shocks on an r50 and 2 r56's, a rear sway bar, rear brakes, and an intake. But I am comfortable elbows deep in any portion of a car, especially the engine bay. Nothing should be out of my grasp, I just haven't done it yet. I should prolly post a thread about side work I do, huh?
  20. Where are you again? Germantown right? That's not too bad. I once drove out to Sterling to replace a timing belt and rocker arm for someone.
  21. I'll come up and visit after work, that is, if anyone will be there around 330-4.
  22. Need some help Jay? Let me know and I'll be glad to help out.
