  1. Unfortunately no, while we are getting back into the MINI culture and are planning on joining MTTS (we did 2006) my schedule is a little nuts. We hope to join in the near future but possibly not until MTTS.
  2. I might be able to stumble my way through them
  3. After a while off the MINI grid we are coming back. My wife has a 2006 MCSc JCW and I have a 2005 MCS...I do the majority of work myself so I thought I would share what tools I have and what repairs I have done as I am happy to offer help/advice when I can. Tools: Code readers, one that reset the airbag lights too, Bavarian Technic software and cable, Belt tensioner tool, ball joint separator, hub removal tool, Motive Brake Bleeder with MINI and Hummer connections, brake caliper tool, and a garage full of jacks, air tools, oil filter wrench, etc Repairs/mods: LCA bushings, alternator, brakes, brakes, brakes, struts, brakes, belts, regular maintenance, heating core, lights, horns, brakes, exhaust, DVD replacement on NAV, speakers on cabrio, big brake kit, clearing the dreaded lean o2 sensor error code...
  4. So are you leaving the PCV valve in and removing the tube from it and driping it in there or are you pouring it thru the PCV valve?
  5. I used to seafoam my camaro but never did my MINI. When you say the pcv method, what do you mean? I used to disconnect the tube from the master cyl and suck it in to the camaro block that way, how are you doing it on the mini? I checked Youtube but all I found was people showing the smoke.
  6. I debated on the FSD or yellow, I ended up with the yellow and have been extremely pleased.
  7. Anyone know who does road force balancing in or near Gaithersburg?
  8. Friday we saw a DS/B pulled over by the police on the Clara Barton... I remember the lic plate was Super Cooper (don't remember spelling tho). I hope you got out of the ticket... also I hope they did not mistake you for me. I drive a DS/B and we got pulled over in the morning going at a good clip on the CB. We were let off with a very stern warning.
  9. Has anyone replaced their own lower control arm bushings? I am planning this in November and was looking for advice and a local resource.
  10. In about a month I am planning on replacing my lower control arm bushings myself. In order to do this safely I need to borrow a tranny jack. I will need need it for about 2 weeks since I am sending my powersteering pump out to be refurbished at the same time. Does anyone have one I can borrow?
  11. You don't need a local shop, the job is easy and I am happy to help. You need to replace the pads AND rotors at the same time. The stock rotors are soft and wear quickly. I picked up some good pads and rotors from Tire Rack...I live in Gaithersburg and I am happy to show you how to do the job.
  12. Saw a R56 DS getting a parking ticket behind GW Hospital... sorry, I ran to add change but the meter maid had started the process and would not stop despite the money I added (sorry, only had a dime).
