  2. No worries Corey I went out there yesterday and just got there early and they gave me a spot right up front, it was nice and they took pics and all that so kinda representing for the club.
  3. Scott sorry I was out at the track so I missed this. An of the external events we share we will either include the info to sign up, if there is nothing directing you to a sign up they are just show up.
  4. Hey all, Brandy and I will be down at the dragon this year, how about you? When do you plan on getting to Fontana Village? Are you staying offsite or on the resort?
  5. Last week
  6. Have a question about the cars and coffee tomorrow at mini, is there any further signing up that needs to be done other than what I did here on the events section? I did go to their website and was not able to submit a sign up. Not really worried about having my car up front or anything like that but I do want to just attend and check it out and have a good time.
  7. Of course I'm going to love this because I have the same car in the "S" version!

  11. To the place I belong We have a full group of MINIacs for tomorrow’s Run to Old Town Winchester. Weather looks decent and the twisties are calling our names. We are looking forward to meeting some new folks in the group as well. I have attached the GPX file in case you want to make sure I don’t miss a turn. See you tomorrow. Country roads, take me home DCMM - Winchester Run.gpx
  12. Thanks @STXMINI!
  13. Welcome back! Look forward to seeing pic of the new MINI. Always love seeing a JCW F60
  14. We take our MINI to Premier Autowerks. They are certified BMW mechanics and are in Frederick
  15. Thank You! this is SUPER helpful. Yeah it's a rare car and I've been looking out of state as well. As for blind spots since I'm a first time driver, I'll definitely get some add-on tech like cameras everywhere, etc...
  16. After a long hiatus from the club and MINI in general, I secured a lovely Nanuq White F60 JCW yesterday (Pics to follow). Still undecided as to whether I'd like to bring it club events...but hey, the first step was coming back to the forums. I look forward to catching up.
  17. Hey guys, I need some work done on my Mini, along with a full safety check - about to drive cross country to see family. Anyone have good mechanic experiences in Frederick County MD? Used GTPeace in the past, but would prefer not to have to drive to Chantilly if I don’t have to. Appreciate any recommendations. Thanks!

  19. Over the weekend I booked NY hotels… probably make a week of it with MTVT. Just need to decide where to noodle around between the 2, maybe Montreal?

  22. CA - would be fun, but like everyone else just to far. NY - We have book our hotels and plan on attending FL - Up in the air on this one. though interesting views, the first drive has to be staight accross the swamp, and the second drive will be down route 1, when that first n14 craps out on the causways through the key it could quickly become stop and go traffic. Note for those that have a military tie they can exploit, Naval Support Activity Key West touches the park that is the end point. Cheap lodging ($115 a night) and the also have cabins. It will also help you get around trying to park down there.
  23. GT Peace will definately be able to help with a PPI. I own a coupe, so the hardtop version of the roadster. The platform itself is the same as all gen 2 MINIs when it comes to drivetrain. - I would recommend only looking at 2010 or newer if looking a cooper or cooper S models as these are the refreshes with the N18 verus the N14 motor. Do be sure to have a PPI with a shop familiar with MINIs (like GT Peace) as the will know the main issues to check on the gen2 drivetrain (thermostat housing, water pump, oil filter housing gasket, timing chain). As for Roadster specific, the rear glass in the soft top is know to fall out i the car was stored outside in prolong direct sunlight. The ahesive for the window deteriates and cause the window to fail. Tips on owning a coupe/roadster, be sure to test drive it in some traffic with the top up. The coupe/roadster have some pretty big blind spots you have to get used to.
  24. Thank you! will check out the GT peace - very helpful
  25. Welcome to the DMV and the club, I really don't know the in's and out's of the roadster but they do look cool, I would guess it would be like any other mini as depending on the year of the car you may have to anticipate a lot of maintenance but as far as a good mini mechanic a lot of the members go to GT peace in Chantilly because they are great over there. That's about all I could give ya, good luck and when you get your roadster I would love to see it.
  26. Hello, I'm new to the DMV area and interested in buying my first car (ever), and I decided on a Mini Roadster. Does anyone have experience with the Roadster, and would like to share? Also, I am looking for a good, Mini mechanic who would be able to help with some Pre Purchase Inspections - if you have recommendations please let me know. Thank you!
  27. Unfortunately, I think I'm out for all of it. CA - way too far. NY - Weather is just too iffy that time of year. FL - I would love to do this, but it's a tough time of year for me to take a week off of work. Also, have you checked hotel prices? Yikes!!!
