NYRican MC40 Posted October 17, 2014 Report Posted October 17, 2014 Random gusts caused by motoring minis:top: :top::congrats:
Stephatron Posted October 18, 2014 Report Posted October 18, 2014 Lucy's heading back to Dr. Passport tomorrow (don't even get me started :banghead:). If I get Charlie the peppy red Clubman loaner, I'm in. If I get a Countryman or Paceman, I will be a maybe. If I get a non MINI, run far away from me. Sigh.
minime331 Posted October 18, 2014 Report Posted October 18, 2014 Time for a new car. STella- 14' Focus ST Roush CAI, Cobb access port stage1 tune, custom Ptuning 3" exhuast, Levels FMIC, Turbosmart BOV, rally armor mud flaps, more to come.
Stephatron Posted October 18, 2014 Report Posted October 18, 2014 Time for a new car. Trust me, I've already decided that. I don't know what I would get and I need to take my mods off before I start selling. It just really sucks.
phillymini Posted October 18, 2014 Report Posted October 18, 2014 I'm new to the area and would like to join this run tomorrow. Would that be possible?

carman63 Posted October 18, 2014 Report Posted October 18, 2014 FYI. I was at the donut shop at 12:00 noon today. They'll be able to accommodate us. I saw coffee, in the big pump-style carafes. Lots of donut choices, sadly I didn't sample any. It's about 5 miles to Skyline Drive from the donut shop. I never made it, due to the traffic congestion. I gave up when I was about 1-2 miles from the entrance. Under normal traffic conditions, expect a ~15 minute drive. (As I type this, Google says it's currently 40 minutes.)
phillymini Posted October 18, 2014 Report Posted October 18, 2014 I'm coming from Rosslyn Virginia which is really in Arlington right across the Key Bridge. It looks like I'm about an hour and a half away to the donut shop
Stephatron Posted October 19, 2014 Report Posted October 19, 2014 Passport gave me a handsome black manual Clubman S so I'm still in!!

I think that at the time we are going we should be ok traffic wise
carman63 Posted October 19, 2014 Report Posted October 19, 2014 I think that at the time we are going we should be ok traffic wise If not, there's always Plan B. (Now I have to come up with a Plan B...)
Ice Posted October 19, 2014 Report Posted October 19, 2014 I know this late are we doing anything for lunch?
carman63 Posted October 19, 2014 Report Posted October 19, 2014 I know this late are we doing anything for lunch? Doubtful. I know my wife and I are going to bail at 211 and head home. This is a loosely organized run (no route sheets, no true end point). Best to take a snack or buy an extra donut
Stephatron Posted October 19, 2014 Report Posted October 19, 2014 I know this late are we doing anything for lunch? I don't see why we couldn't if we wanted to!
Stephatron Posted October 19, 2014 Report Posted October 19, 2014 Drive it like you stole it ....just kidding....but no, really though. You bet I will!!!! I always abuse... I mean... Make sure to treat loaners... Like they should be driven. I think I've named this one Sylvester. Charlie is the chili red Clubman. Ali will be so proud of me!!
mikev Posted October 19, 2014 Report Posted October 19, 2014 I don't see why we couldn't if we wanted to! There's always Big Meadow Wayside... between US-211 and US-33... right next to the visitor center.
Brandy_Brown Posted October 19, 2014 Report Posted October 19, 2014 It was great seeing everyone and meeting the few new ones , a few know Corey made the decision to make a $130 dollar donation to the park while we were there LOL http://www.dcmetrominis.org/forums/image.php?u=1132&type=sigpic&dateline=1367319111
1975_mini Posted October 19, 2014 Report Posted October 19, 2014 (edited) 1 mile an hour under wreckless, thank you mini for the 3 mph buffer on the speedo. First ticket in 10 years. 35 is really slow especially on the downhills. Edited October 19, 2014 by 1975_mini 1975 Mini 1000, 998cc A+ w/ K&N air filter, 10" Mamba wheels
