Dragon Mods

Y is everybody h8in' on the chrome? I loooove bright 'n shiny things! But, I guess it's just me ... :tongue:

Maybe you were a parrot in a past life.

I like shiny things too, and I like my carbon fiber glossy not flat, but I don't like the polished chrome look with Tigger. It looks very nice on Scoopie

@Ali: U could be right! I like the glossy CF, 2. Can't w8 2 see (& hear!) Tigger w/all his new-fangled mods! :rock:

@Lola: ^5! :top:

@Laura: U're sooo right about that! That 'uific8tion' thing is awesome! :biggrin:

Speaking of MOTD mods, do u think any1 would be able 2 help me w/my non-adhering interior CF issues? I was gonna try 2 find some1 2 do 'em b4 I got down there, but w/all the MINI specialists there, maybe 1 of them could tackle it? :nurse:

This is what I love about MINIs. There are so many things you can do to them to make them "you". Whether it's carbon fiber, chrome, matte black vinyl, pink metallic, etc. :top:

But not Hello Kitty right? :hahaha:

MINIs are too tough for that :biggrin:

You're still having issues with the dash sticking or is it the door pieces? I stuck mine on with silicon gel and it is on tight. I don't know if any of the guys at the Dragon would want to get into that job. We could try and tackle it here one weekend. I figure if we can remove the piece, clean the base really well of any residue, we can stick that sucker on well.

Count me in the "chrome hater" camp. The only chrome I want on my MINI are the badges. I've managed to get rid of all the chrome except for inside the headlights and the taillights. Those are the toughest. :frown:

I'm not a fan of the "CF" look either, I think it's played out... that's why I have a few CF pieces on my car that are painted or vinyled over. :biggrin:

However, Laura is right - "youifying" our MINIs isn't about doing what other people like, it's about doing what you like, and that's all that matters!

Ali - before you go wrapping your chrome hoops, you do realize you can just take them off and replace them with the black plastic ones from the R52 Cooper (Justa/Non-S), right?

From this page on RealOEM.com:

06 Trim panel roll bar, front right PANTHER BLACK 51437123550

07 Trim panel roll bar, rear left PANTHER BLACK 51437123551

07 Trim panel roll bar, rear right PANTHER BLACK 51437123552

Ballpark dealer pricing $13.25 each for the front covers, and $12 each for the rear covers. So the (very rough) price is $50.50... and I bet you can get them cheaper from an OEM parts dealer who doesn't jack up the prices. :smile:

Just a suggestion! Or, you could find a R52 Cooper owner who likes chrome and wants to trade covers... free swap! :smile:

Thanks Haemish, I did look into them in the past and decided that I don't want black. I really like the metallic dark gray, which is why I'm going with the vinyl.

So is anyone else planning to get any mods at the Dragon:questionmark:

Aren't those hoops more than plastic? I think they are metal and they are the roll bars for the car aren't they?

They have covers, you can just replace them. They come in two pieces per side. I had considered buying the covers and painting them, but I think the vinyl will be nicer.

As long as the color is what you are wanting. I emailed Tod last week and haven't gotten any response back...

As far as mods at the dragon? I don't think I am actually - of course, that could change depending upon what's offered.

The only mod currently on my list of stuff I want to do is a GP intercooler :biggrin: Once I have some money saved up I will bite the bullet and buy it :top:

The other mod on my "when I win the lottery" is a Quaife differential :biggrin::biggrin:

almost anything you can think of, but you have to schedule them in advance. You can do this by going to the MOTD website, viewing the the vendors, and contacting them. It's getting late, and they're getting booked up, so if you want something done, I suggest you act quickly!

Damn seems like im the only one that likes the chrome haha

What kinds of mods are available to have done at the Dragon?
