  1. Welcome to club. Love the color of your JCW. :motor: What do you mean "just wish I got to drive it more often ;-)" is someone keeping you away from your Mini?
  2. going up to Philly on Saturday. Sowey!!! :itsme:
  3. getting a new clutch and throttle body installed on my R56, and waiting to get my new LED Grill-Mount lights to come in.
  4. Love to get some BG restore. Anything to help my oil burning engine. Let me know when you're ready to buy.
  5. I had mine done a couple of months ago. My R56 turbo required the entire cover to be replaced as oil was leaking out and puffing out the back. The cover was the most expensive part and it took the shop an hour to install. $450
  6. Not sure if you still haven't gotten this service done yet but we have a discount at GT Peace Auto in Chantilly. I had mine done for $400 about a month ago, but just be aware you may have other problems that may come-up if you have a N14 motor.
  7. regarding the leather cleaner, a friend got me hooked on Zaino soft leather cleaner and conditioner (leather in a bottle). Haven't looked at the Adams leather cleaners yet but their products are pretty good.
  8. pretty much. It mounts inside your engine bay and just hookup a power cord to maintain the charge. I use this one. The fan is loud but it charges both car and bike batteries well. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Stanley-FatMax-8A-Battery-Charger-Bonus-Extension-Cord-Bundle/38243757
  9. Clear paint? sounds like a sealant must have been applied. BTW, been meaning to ask, has anyone ever tried using plain (non-gel) toothpaste to get the lens clear before? curious how well it works.
  10. I believe we've talked about good tint guys on this board before. You may want to do a forum search for them. I use a guy in the Silver Spring Auto Park who does pretty good work and somewhat reasonable priced. I've also used F3 Auto Detailing in the past who do pretty good tint work, not sure about the other services they offer.
  11. basic concept behind the trickle chargers, it slowly adds amps to the battery over time and won't allow normal depletion of charge. the battery regulator generally dictates how long the charger can be left on, so a smart tenders can regulate flow and kept on longer (months). I have a friend who uses this on his RX7. Schumacher on-board battery charger. The 1.5amps keeps his battery charged and when it drops too much the unit beeps.
  12. One of the reasons why i want to get out of my Mini is the sound system. this gave me an idea but haven't done anything about it. Best Buy can get the dash kits etc.
  13. Wanted to know if anyone has tried one of the aftermarket-OEM replacements Throttle bodies from Vemo or VDO on their Minis? https://www.eeuroparts.com/Parts/64242/Throttle-Body-13547604918/ https://www.ecstuning.com/Mini-2010-Cooper-R56-S-Coupe-L4_1.6L_N14B16A/ES2587103/ Any feedback?

I'd like to go but the R56 has a gasket issue. BTW since this is the first time i'm seeing this site, can anyone join it and race? I am a novice/green level and would love to do the October 9th event.
  21. Do they have ASE certified MIni techs or Mini/BMW techs?
