MINI for A CAUSE – About: MINI FOR A CAUSE is an event that Norm and Jess Nelsen (MINI owners in CA who lost their home and several MINIs in the Paradise, CA fires last summer) are organizing with Chico Mini Cooper, Shasta MINIS, Capitol City MINIS & Mini & MINIS Int., co-sponsored with Butte Creek Country Club and Niello MINI. It is a Show & Shine MINIcar show Fundraiser for the youth of Northern California who lived through the nightmares of the Camp & Carr fires of last year. Most of these kids now have no place to go to relive their memories of childhood. MINI for a Cause event Facebook Link Let’s show some “east coast love” to support this cause for these children! As is often the case, there’s an initial outpouring of support, but as time passes, memories fade and more current events eclipse the devastation of the past. It’s too far for a day drive, but we can help locally. Here’s how: Saturday March 9th after the Meet and Greet at MINI of Montgomery County, we will take a ~ 1-1.5 hour drive to Beef – N – Buns in Paradise (get it?) in Frederick for some lunch and some fabulous ice cream. After lunch we will have a “local” 50/50 drawing with the proceeds designated to MINI FOR A CAUSE. MINI FOR A CAUSE has a 50/50 raffle, raffle items (for tickets) and silent auction items. Any items bid on and won by one of our “local” MINIs will be shipped by the organizers for free. We can also buy 50/50 raffle tickets for the California based event. I saw that .. it is the only date the Brewery Comedy Tour will be in this area so no choice on the dates .. if it goes well (it's posted to C3M and Carlisle MINI, too, but so far not much response) there will be another chance next spring. Wish they synced up a little better to be able to do both! (Can always meet us for ice cream / dinner / comedy) .. Have fun, be safe, see you soon!

Ha .. and since I saw there was a photoshoot, I thought for sure you were going to be there! Have fun at the beach! You'll be missed! I know what you mean, not enough weekends for all the options! I know the dealership is hosting a breakfast and a dinner, I've got fingers crossed there's enough of a turn out that they are inclined to do the same in the future! Regardless, it's a place I've never been, and I'm going through Mini Takes the States withdrawal so I'm ready!

MINIs Take Mountain Lake (4th annual) I was really posting this to see if others were planning to attend and interested in caravanning .. but then I realized if you aren’t on Facebook (like me) you might not have even heard about it, so I thought I’d post the details. WINIFiED is on a truck with 8 of her MINI cousins on her way to Portland, due in Sunday night. I am still interested in anyone who is going to do the express run back to the mid-Atlantic leaving out of Keystone on Sunday after the farewell breakfast. I know alot of people have more leave time than I do ? .. I do here there are 3000 MINIs that will be in Portland on the 14th and have heard 6000 at Keystone, but I'm not sure if that is MINIs or people .. so psyched!!

Just as an FYI, we need 2 MINIs on the transport truck out of Atlanta to Portland to qualify for the $750/MINI price. If anyone is thinking of doing the west route and driving to the start point, unless you've got a lot of fun stuff planned along the way, consider shipping your MINI. It will spare many miles on the odo and the wear and tear *before* the event. Please post ASAP if you need additional information as the MINIs need to be in Atlanta on or before July 1. They will be shipped to MINI of Portland to have good eyes on them until we arrive. Feel free to send PM for any additional questions!

Have a family member interested in joining -- the family. Since the budget is dictating a used MINI, it would be great to find one that has a known history (read: club member) that would fit the bill. Only "must have" specs -- automatic (yea, go ahead and groan) -- looking at 2015 model year, but if it's close, send the details. Preference is 4 door, but if you've got a 2 door and you're moving out of the country next week so have a fire-sale price on it, it might be of interest. Send details and photos and I'll forward. I'll mark the post CLOSED when a MINI has joined the stable. It will happen, just a matter of the right deal .. MINI has been purchased .. but Stephens got a great Countryman / R60 for sale at this time if anyone is interested, PM him!
