Event Title: The Great Ice Cream Run 8 to MINI on the Mack Event Date: 07/29/2023 04:00 PM to 08/06/2023 12:00 PM Event Address: The Great Ice Cream Run 8 to MINI on the Mack By popular demand, Jak and Dusdee Yaemsiri, who have organized and led 7 prior ice cream runs to Bar Harbor and Mackinaw, have agree to co-ordinate Event # 8 this summer. The ice cream run begins at Staunton VA on July 29th. Group hotels have been reserved with overnight stops at Charleston WV, Cincinnati OH, Dearborn MI, South Haven MI and St Ignace MI. In addition to 2-3 ice cream and donut stops daily, we will visit the US Air Force Museum Dayton OH and Henry Ford Museum. After the end of our run, we will join up with MINI on the Mack on Aug 4-5. If you plan to participate please be sure to register @ MINI On The Mack as we will try again to break the world record of 1450 MINIs in a parade! There are 20 hotel rooms reserved for each stop. There are already 9 claimed by prior year participants. Something clearly looks wrong with that overhead of MINX MINI - oh, wait, convertible on a beautiful day with the top up, that's it .. It was a little after 3:30 - Perry was pulling out, a 2nd MINI leaving also (Scott maybe?) and when I asked the parking attendant he said the MINIs had left. Apparently they didn't know I had choco cake to share. I don't think I have the # for anyone on the run so couldn't text ahead a choco cake warning .. boo.

Fun time - fun roads - great weather. Just what we want for MINI'ing. Sorry to bail at lunch -- I did try and catch up at Bear Chase after lunch - with chocolate cake in tow - but looked like everyone had left or was leaving. Thanks for organizing and making sure everyone had fun. I was kinda sorry I didn't have lunch in Middleburg. Next time. Stay safe, y'all!

Question: The PDF shows meeting at Leesburg C&C, but the run is on Saturday, and C&C at Leesburg Public House is on Sundays; where is the meetup / start point? What is the lunch plan? Restaurant or BYO picnic? Has a reservation been made for lunch somewhere? Thanks - making plans to meetup and do at least the first leg of the drive to Middleburg - but may have to drop out, possible conflict for the afternoon. Thanks

For those who are new to the group that I was talking with on Sunday about other MINI events worthy of interest .. I had mentioned the events at Watkins Glen several times .. as soon as I got home, this arrived in my mailbox. Please note, this is a MINI USA sponsored event which generally translates into it being well attended, well organized, lots of corporate 'perks' (free food, door prizes from dealerships) .. it's definitely a "don't miss" .. if you need some other excuses to make a long weekend of it ... Corning Glass Museum 30 minutes away (trust me, 5 out of 5 starts with 3000 reviews or something like that) and it's Finger Lakes wine country. Now let me get my hotel booked before I hit Post on this one (there will be a group caravanning on Friday from Carlisle PA and there is usually a contingent that caravans from Frederick to meet up with the Carlisle group) .. if any of that is of interest, don't post here, this is just an FYI, find Carlisle MINI on Meetup. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1574069059577905/

Yes, my email said May, so I signed up and just noticed the change of date. I left the RSVP to Yes at this point. I was actually looking forward to it being "in lieu of the drive to the Dragon" for any not making it there this year :-)

Thanks for the update - Creekside on my way home from Harvest Gap so that'll work -- I just won't be having lunch at Harvest Gap and it is pretty good food! See you in the morning. Trying to recruit a few more so you get to the 5-8 .. (including my son with his BRZ - of which I saw no representation at C&C last time I went, but he's not an early riser ... )

50* and sunny is some good driving weather! I have a Meetup commitment at Creeks Edge Winery in Lovettesville at 12:30 tomorrow. If the end point of this run is there or Flying Aces, I'm in! (RSVP based on the end point working for my other plans)

C&C was impressive -- and well behaved. (Some of the C&C's in NC got punted out of the parking lots because hotheads insisted on doing burnouts when leaving the the hosts got annoyed .. hopefully this group stays well-behaved. Oh, I don't mean the MINIs :-)) Was a great day for a drive and fun roads, fun company, and decent food .. thanks for organizing and to the others who contributed. After a lull in driving last year, WINIFiED is thrilled to get to go out and play with her friends!

Since there is not a holiday event conflict on the DCMM calendar, I thought I would post this event. I believe it's the 7th or 8th year that the club has hosted this event. I based my comment about Monks on the event description about "overwhelming Monks last year";' group size limit is always organizer's choice.

The DCMM Tri-State event indicates that MTTB isn't happening this year (2021) though I don't see anything about a cancellation on this thread ...

Since the RSVPs are full, maybe meet you at Monks? And if you are good with more MINIs, I assure you Monks can handle twice this size .. we show up on W&OD bike rides and there can be 30 people ... and they are likely super glad for the business these days.

I was going to say it depends on the date .. because it wasn't until I got to the "Discussion" link that I knew what date it was. (I hadn't heard that MTTB was canceled, but I wasn't planning to attend, so maybe that's why) I'd plan to be there. I have an afternoon commitment so won't be able to stay at the brewery for long, And I am weather contingent. Sorry. No fun to run in the rain ...

I can't make it this weekend -- but have fond memories of C&C in NC so would definitely be interested on a future date -- please keep posting them, thanks! And Have Fun!
