  1. I have. I talked to the shop and they rotated the tire valve away from the crack and suggested that I keep it full and limit trips to the grocery store as few as I can. They're working with me to figure something out and offered to fully document everything in case I want to try to get it covered until warranty. Does anyone know if something like this will require a full alignment? The shop thought that while they would suggest it normally just due to the new wheel, they thought that since I only had 17k, they said a rotation and then monitoring tire wear would probably be the best bet rather than investing into a full alignment right off the bat.
  2. So....mini update: MINI is saying it won't be covered under warranty because I don't have the tire/wheel warranty, despite saying that the normal full warranty should cover everything except normal wear and tear parts (i.e. tires, clutch, filters, etc). I went round and round with MINI USA because the first women claimed that tires meant wheels/tires/rims as one. Talked to a higher up, they said the same thing until I pointed out that the warranty clearly states tires, NOT rims or wheels. Finally, she admits that MINI would cover it but only if the dealer determined it as a manufacturing defect. I called Sterling and Passport-Alex and both said that in no way would a wheel be replaced under warranty, crack/bend/etc. A car with barely 17k miles and a full year of warranty left doesn't do it for them I guess.. I've looked on Ebay/CL for the wheels and the lowest I've found is $213 (I have the 17" Pace Spoke.. this is the same wheel on the MINI site. I like these rims and I'm not sure I want to invest in a whole new set of rims when I have three good ones. Though, now I'm considering buying a cheap set of winter ones because I'm guessing a pot hole did this. My local shop's $313 includes the rim, the tire re-mount, re-balance, and rotation of all four wheels (I'm due anyways). However, they can't seem to get the rim in from NY due to the weather. So, Clubby is just sitting until whenever I can get this fixed Oh, and while on the phone with MINI USA, I found out my speakers won't be covered by warranty either, unless they completely fail I won't lie, it gets really hard some days to not up and sell Clubby and get something that doesn't cost me a bunch of heartache and money to sit in my driveway daily (but hey, my insurance dropped again since it's not considered a "daily driver" since I metro every day! Silver lining somewhere :top:)
  3. Anyone have advice on picking up a new rim? Had a flat, went and got it checked out, it's apparently a cracked rim :banghead: Local shop is quoting me $313, which is killing me. I guess it's a good thing a family event came up tomorrow preventing me from karting Update: so it seems like this could possibly covered under the warranty (still covered) due to this being a safety issue. Calling MINI USA and we'll see...
  4. After falling off the face of the Earth for a week or so with personal stuff, I'm so excited to be back and see this! I know I'm in, lemmie check with the +1 and see if he wants to join in WooT!!:motor: hopefully I don't end up in the pit of shame again!
  5. I too can bring something else. I actually just updated mine to bring a dessert (boyfriend is coming so I can make/bring two things, riigghhtt? :top:). Will likely be cupcakes or mini-cupcakes, depending on how crafty I get during the day. If it looks like we need any specific food groups, let me know, it's going in the crockpot early Saturday morning or late Friday night so I'm pretty flexible up until then. BBQ chicken is the current plan, but a side-dish is also possible.
  6. I have a set of side view mirror caps, black, for powerfold mirrors (<more important than Gen type) FS, original boxes. I put on checkered a month or so after I bought the car to match my rearview when I decided it wouldn't be overkill  I was a newb back then
  7. #3: Phone keypad? #2: looks like stunning art
  8. I also work around the corner, if you need a second bobblehead :top:
  9. I have a set of two outdoor folding chairs and a breakfast-sized table. It's not a lot, but they're small and portable and sitting on a covered porch so they're clean. I'll see if I can get my folding camping chair back too Also, the part/stuff swap is a GREAT idea! :top:
  10. AND a white elephant gift! Dude, you could make out well if my brain decides to go all :stupid: on me. It's in my phone this time so I can't mess it up
  11. I third D&V :top: They work with major insurances and work with them directly, saving a magnitude of heart/headache. I've had Clubby and my previous Jetta in there for non-insurance claims and my parents have had two cars in there as well, one being an insurance claim. Family-run, nice folks, and on-par with pricing
  12. Woohoo! So much fun!! The weather couldn't have been better either! Glad to see we raised so much money for such a great cause too!
  13. 'Twas an electrical engineer in the past life, Tried your suggestion with no luck must be the batteries
  14. Ahhhh thank you!! I'm the blue Clubby with "Clubby" plates see you in the AM!!! 80+ MINIs!!
  15. Hey does anyone have an extra 2-way radio? I borrowed a set but the batteries are 100% dead and not holding charge
  16. Probably just give a baked good. I shot her an email, I'll see what she says :top:
  17. I have a friend that does baked goods, is that suitable for the raffle?
  18. Good to know about Ft Myer, I put up my hose for the winter and have tree crap all over my car that I need to get off
  19. Ft Myer has a lift? The wash bays are awesome enough! (btw, any one know if these close for the winter, and if so, when?)
  20. Across Cooper/Cabrio? I think that's right. I just remember being told that Cooper/Cabrio stuff fits my Clubby, and vice versus. Clubbies are only second gen so I only usually focus on second gen Cooper/Cabrio parts, but good to know that some may be interchangeable across all variants
  21. I looked into replacing my door lights awhile back and Cooper/Clubman/Cabrio lights are all interchangeable up to either 2012 or 2013 (can't remember). Countryman/Paceman/Coupe/Roadster are out, they apparently have different setups
  22. Moving and found these in the back of my closet. Only had them on for ~4 months/2000mi before ditching them for checkered side mirrors. They're in near-perfect condition other than the dust they've been collecting. Fits the following models with the Powerfold option: 2007-2011 R56 MINI Cooper and Cooper S Hatchback 2008-2011 R55 MINI Cooper and Cooper S CLUBMAN 2009-2011 R57 MINI Cooper and Cooper S Convertibles 2011 R60 MINI Cooper and Cooper S COUNTRYMAN 2012-2013 R58 MINI Cooper and Cooper S COUPE 2012-2013 R59 MINI Cooper and Cooper S Roadster Asking $100 for the set. Can bring them to the Beltway run or set up a local pickup (live in Arlington, live in DC, often go out to the Ashburn area, willing to meet up around those areas). Figured I'd throw them on in case anyone wanted a new set/replacement set
  23. Ahhh. Whoops. So how do you clean dog snot off windows? Just water wipes?
  24. Is Windex bad for aftermarket tint? :hmmmm::stupido2:
  25. I've seen a few old posts for covers for sale, but not much in the way of actual covers. Does anyone have an OEM or non-OEM cover and prefer either? I'm moving to a place with only a driveway and would rather keep my beloved covered since I don't drive daily anymore. Also, any suggestions on where to buy? I have the Sterling pass thingie for the 10% (or 20%, can't remember) off accessories, so that's looking like a decent option right now
