  1. Issue against roof racks? Just curious, I'm debating getting one (though I have rails already)
  2. How easy is the plasti-dip? Looks pretty awesome with the stripes
  3. :wavey: '10 Eng (yup, I'm a youngin) The UVa Engineering and DCMM are the only stickers that grace my tiny back windows
  4. Dangit, really? All I remember is being able to get a 1-bdrm for $900 on the downtown mall. $900 gets you a room in a 4-bdrm group/clown house in Arlington. And yeah, I could see Cville being stuck up. I just liked living in the mountains with a big city feel. DC is too expensive for me to imagine staying here, once my parents leave I don't have a whole lot left here (besides the MINI club, obviously!)
  5. I now envy the townies. I miss Cville so much, I'd love to move back there one day. Or farther south. Anywhere but DC/traffic
  6. Hah. I always wondered why you picked orange, every time I see it I see UVa colors I may actually go orange. It would be a nice clash to the blue and something different. Though, it might look dorky with the UVa plates I'm considering. Picking colors = me :stupid:
  7. $100 is steep, especially with the tint job happening the same weekend Plus, I think I might go for something that pops. I like the bright green against the LzB, which is why yellow came to mind. Orange would be UVa colors...gahh decisions!
  8. Ah I thought it was you! Good to know. I think I'll go with G2 as well. I'm torn about colors though, I'm down to either yellow, red, or orange. Don't want to do blue as it may clash..
  9. I know the paint has to be high-temp paint. Do you know the limits on plastidip? Found: http://www.tirerack.com/brakes/accessoryDetail.jsp?ID=41
  10. Anyone subjected their brakes to this? I'm thinking about painting Clubby's to make him stand out a bit and I have a garage to store it in overnight jacked up. I faintly remember someone having done theirs..

Hey guys, I just found out my mom's having outpatient surgery earlier in the week so I'll come early, but may bug out shortly after to go over and help out. Might decide to paint my calipers finally too, so I'll need some sunshine left

Good to know! I'm considering 50 all the way around due to nighttime vision and such. I wear sunglasses whenever the sun is even remotely out anyways. I think i'd rather the uniform look, but I haven't decided..

Look up some reviews on the stuff, people seem happy. Heat rejection seems to be poor, but if it's the QDP (not QD), the tint itself has lifetime warranty and purple-ing doesn't seem to be an issue. Can't figure out if it's dyed or ceramic, I think dyed I wish I knew what my brother's Mustang has. He's got a gunmetal grey '06 and it's tinted to 35% all the way around and looks beautiful.
  14. Hahah i'm not too much of a nut about that stuff, as long as there's nothing to get inside the camera
  15. If you're coming to tinting, I could take one of those camera bags. I need one that'll fit a D90 and two lenses (one zoom, one standard). It's more for transport than anything, I often just carry my camera around me, but I'm tired of stuffing both lenses in and then it bouncing around on drives...

I'll just stick to legal, don't want the hassle, although if someone before me gets 35% all around I may be enticed to 35% on the front sides. I don't know if that messes him up... Front Side Windows: 50% Rear Side Windows: 35% Rear Windshield: 35% I'd too like to know some deets about the tint type (3M?) and warranty info..

Monster, if you want 830 I'll take noon. I may go wash/detail in the morning. Or I'll take 830. Doesn't matter to me.
  19. What % did you get? Looks sharp!
  20. I may be on work travel that day, but FYI, on Mondays they have a "buy a beer get a free sandwich" deal. It's one of my favorite places to eat in Arlington. Parking can get tight but if they're out of spaces, people park across the street at the Giant. Also, they allow dogs on the patio :top:
  21. Yeah I was thinking along the lines of a foam gun almost, but portable, that didn't require the use of the hose. They've had serious problems with the hose freezing before..
  22. Yeah, I know it's 100 degrees outside, but my dad's (the 'Vette guy) bday is coming up and I was looking to get him something he could use for winter "washing", i.e. a quick and easy way to get the general crap that ruins cars off his beloved baby. I've seen systems that are basically a pump system, but don't know much about them. He's a bit too old to be hauling buckets in and out of the house to do a two bucket wash and the hose goes off in Nov until March, at least. Anyone familiar with a system like this?
