It is my mom's birthday this weekend. Haven't figured out what we are doing, but if I'm free, I'll try to show up! I'll try to bring my friend Emily, who you all convinced to buy a MINI at Passport the other day, too!

The only issue I have with DC is that every time I go there for dinner or something, I never allocate myself enough time to park/walk to the location, so I am late for everything. My own fault, I guess

I have heard a number of people talk about the bank for your buck value of a good ECU tune. As a matter of fact, Jan from RMW has my stock ECU file sitting in his inbox as we speak and should be working on getting me my first "canned" tune to get me started!

On a 2003 Cooper my friend Emily just bought the glove compartment latch has some issue where it falls open while she is driving it. Has anyone else had this issue, and what do I need to order to help her get that working again? Yeah, for me its just not worth the possibility of me screwing something up, combined with the fact that I live in a townhouse, so work space is at a premium.

The exhaust is for a R56. I can in fact attest to its awesomeness. I love it!

Since I bought my MINI in Aug 2009, it is still under the 3 year maintenance period, so I have gone to MINI of Sterling a bunch of times, and have had good experiences every time. The only thing I have gone to Mach V for is oil changes midway between the ~16000mi recommendations from my MINI computer and to purchase/install my new wheels. If anything, I have only good things to say about MoS. They seemed like they went above and beyond any diagnoses required to fix my issues. Even the small stuff, like a slight sound like something was rolling back and forth in the headliner. (Turned out to be a small rock in the headliner rolling back and forth around corners!) I have never felt like a number, and actually have 2 service advisers that recognize me the second I walk in the door of MoS, and can recall what I was last in for and much more. I understand the desire to save a bit of money, and I can't say how my maintenance will change after my 3 year period is up, but for now, I love MINI of Sterling.

As much as it may have been harsh, it was something that made me realize that I am sure companies that get a HUGE influx of business from something like GroupOn probably do skimp on the services a bit since they have to go through so much in that period of time. I am perfectly happy finding a company I like to do a nice full detailing, since I am WAY too lazy to do it right
