  1. I have a set of Web Spokes, the clear coat is gone on a few of the center rims, they have some road rash. They could be fixed up but I just don't want to deal with it. They have set of older Pirelli snow sports on them, one of which is flat and can't be fixed. I'm in Alexandria, near the Annandale line Free if you want them, just send me a PM Ali
  2. I'm making myself nuts here but I've decided to keep the S Lites and paint them. The Web spokes that I have are in worse shape so I'm going to get rid of them instead. Ali
  3. I figured they could be patched because we noticed a patch in one of Mark's runflats after they changed him out to winter tires. I guess I'll see what they look like in the morning and decide if I need to take them somewhere or if it's holding the air. If they have a leak, they should lose pressure overnight, right? I can probably take it to the gas station near the house if it's just a leak, or maybe Sears can help me. The place that usually handles my tires (one of the only places I could find to do runflats) is on the south side of Springfield, so I don't want to go that far with a leaky tire. Hey Craig - I NOW have an official tire obsession. OY!
  4. Well in case anyone is wondering what the sound of a flat runflat is, I now know. it makes the whole side of the car vibrate. It's not like the thump thump of a regular tire, it's much more extreme then that. It was loud and really rough, I heard it over my loud music even, well probably felt it. I just got my first flat, luckily I was leaving the house and figured it out before I'd gone a block. Of course, I call Craig and tell him the car is making an awful sound. The TPI came on a few days ago, but that happens on and off and it's never meant anything so like an idiot I just push the button, it goes out in a few miles and I forget to check the tire pressure. It never came back on and I drove for several days. After giving this tidbit to Craig he suggests that now would be a good time to check the tire pressure. I had 3 tires at 30 psi and one at 0psi. A HA! He's such a good Best MINI Friend Forever (BMFF) So I limped Tigger home and put air in the tire. So far it's holding. I'm not going to drive him till the morning, see if it's still got air then. The lesson I learned is that sometimes the TPI is right, and every time that thing goes on, check the tire pressure. Hopefully I don't need a new tire, because I've got those Pirelli Snow Sports on and no one has them in stock. Ali
  5. Not sure what I'm making yet. what to bring? what to bring?
  6. hmmmmmm I can't possibly meet your high standards in detailing yeah that's it...
  7. I feel the love :marshmellow: Thanks for all the input guys. Ali
  8. uh, good luck with that one Craig. Last I heard he had 500 unread emails in his hotmail and he only comes on the board if I tell him to. He still mumbles on his occasional foray into Facebook Mark won't mind if Laura and I take Max for a night time spin, I always wash and wax Max, so I get some rights too :motor:
  9. grrrr you guys never give up a chance for a shot at Ali Don't think I'm not noticing Thanks for solving my little mystery
  10. If you want to come by one night and take Max for a ride it might help you judge for yourself Ali
  11. I am not fixated on tires, I'm simply in a state of deep research
  12. Yes please PM me if you're interested
  13. That makes sense Haemish I miss my Rota's, I'm on the Web spokes now.
  14. I'm going to do the same thing Greg. I've done a lot of research and have decided I would much rather have an all season performance tire, I know Craig is happy with the one he has. I figure if I carry a portable compressor and some slime. For longer trips I'll buy a small donut tire to carry, and if we take both cars Mark can carry the tire. Run Flats are more expensive, they don't last very long and if you were stranded somewhere in the middle of no where, even if you can limp to a garage chances are they won't have run flats in stock. For this winter I had these tires, so figured I'd get a season out of them. Ali
  15. Both sets of tires are 17" but the Rota's are 215's and the Runflats are 205's Would that make a difference?
  16. I know that properly filling your tires will give you the best gas mileage but I've noticed a difference when switching between run flats and regular tires. I've been on run flats since I bought Tigger, so I knew my gas mileage. When I bought the Rotas they came with regular tires. My gas mileage went up noticeably. I was seeing an average of about 2 more miles per gal. My hwy mileage went from 30 to 32 mpg and my average miles for week day driving went from 24 - 26. then I put the snow tires on which are run flats and my gas mileage went down again. This weekend I drove up to Baltimore with no traffic at all and could do better then 29.5 mpg. At first I thought maybe the cold weather gave me better gas mileage, until I got back on the run flats. Anyone else notice this? Ali
  17. We don't know what Mark's car Max came tinted with but it's really dark. He says that it's actually so dark that at night on a street with no lights, he has a hard time seeing out the sides. He's contemplated having it removed for something less dark, but not sure if he'll change it. The car came this way, but if he was given a choice, I'm sure he wouldn't have gone this dark Ali
  18. A friend of mine just took some pics of Tigger and I, they came out really nice. He used to be a professional photographer so it was a real treat to work with him. Ali
  19. What color? I'll keep an eye out too
  20. I have a set of S-lites rims for sale. It's just the rims, they no longer have tires on them. I bought them from this list, here's the original thread with photos http://dcmetrominis.org/forum/topic/753-fs-s-lites-wpirelli-snowsport-2054517/ I never actually put them on the car as I decided to go in another direction. I'm asking $300 for the set, they're in good shape. In the images you'll see some minor road rash, and some marks. The marks will clean off and I'll try to do that myself and then re-post new pics. Please PM me if you're interested in them. Ali
  21. Plasti dip would never have held up. I painted my little R52 letters with it and the first time I waxed I hit the letters with the cloth and peeled off half the plasti dip. I really like the look you got. Ali
  22. I love the graphics and the rims look really nice. What kind of paint did you use? Ali
  23. Picture looks awesome!
