  1. I've got a 50mm prime which has become my workhorse. I also have a 60mm macro and a wide angle (which is great for shooting multiple cars in a line). Just for fun I just ordered a Holga, medium format film camera. I can't wait to play with that for some vintage style MINI shots. I hear that the photo event with C3M next weekend is being rescheduled. I'd love to do more with the cameras and our cars. Like Craig I'm playing with the manual mode more often lately. A friend of mine taught me a decent trick to shoot a few shots on auto, take a look at it, see the settings then go into manual and adjust from there.
  2. When you guys are ready for a digital SLR I would be happy to get together and let you try my Canon Rebel. It's an entry level SLR, I like it a lot. But already have my eye on a more professional model Ali
  3. Nice pics. What kind of camera did you get? I saw a cabrio Laurel in Old Town on Friday night. Thought of your car. Ali
  4. Today I went for a reflexology massage at a place that I had a Groupon for. It was kind of hard to find the location from the parking lot because they didn't have signs. I called them for directions and to make sure I was in the right place. I noticed a MINI in the lot and it was in a spot with their number so I asked if the MINI went with the place. Turned out the chiropractor that owned the place owned the MINI. I gave him a card. Then the massage therapist comes out and tells me that she has one also. So I gave her a card and grilled her about her MINI during the massage. Turns out she's in a poligaMINI family as her husband has one too. I was in MINI heavan, and was harassing the receptionist to get one since she was the only one that didn't have one. It was a MINIrific experience and I managed to tag 3 MINI owners. Ali
  5. I remember a few years ago when I went to Dave and Busters and played a bunch of driving games. After I got in the car later, I felt like if I drove into walls it wasn't going to hurt. It took me a few minutes for real driving to feel normal again. Ali
  6. Allright then. I'll set something up
  7. Great, now we can count on Craig to make gummy bear fruit cake :stupid:
  8. I have an idea for a restaurant for another dinner. It's one of my favorite places to eat. Food Matters http://foodmattersva.com/ They're off of Duke Street, between 395 and Old Town Alexandria. they're set in a little village like town i
  9. Chris - You are not good for my wallet. First I need the better camera, then I'll think about a game.
  10. I only have an older Xbox, I am not buying a PS3, but you guys are tempting me
  11. I think this is a different driving game but did you guys see this article. Pretty interesting, they took the world champion in iRacing and put him behind the wheel of a real race car on the track. http://www.topgear.com/uk/photos/geek-rebooted-2010-11-26?imageNo=0
  12. What if I make really tasty cookies in the shape of a bear? Is that OK?
  13. Educate me please, I am guessing this is some sort of driving game. It sounds fun and the pics are cool Ali
  14. I saw the Laurel today in my parking lot The new lights look great!
  15. Do you guys think you'll still be there around 8:30? I forgot that I have a massage scheduled for 7:00 that night Ali
  16. I'm sure you'll do something cool with them :top:
  17. They seemed to ride fine for me, they've been on the car since it was new. When I had the last tires put on those guys would have told me if they saw any issues with the rims. Ali
  18. I just ordered my new winter tires (Continental Extreme Snow) and dropped the S-Lite rims off at the service station. One of the guys at the station saw me unloading the rims and made it his duty to let me know that the Rota's I had on the car were much better looking and asked why would I change them. In the meantime the manager has already realized that I am not the typical female client so he defended me right away before I could explain. It was pretty funny They might paint the S-Lites for me, I'm waiting on a price. If it's reasonable I'll do it, I just don't have the time right now and they are tireless. Hoping this whole tire thing is finally over Ali
  19. They're gone!! My back yard looks better and I no longer fear a HO association violation. Ali
  20. That could work if I can clean a corner of the basement for painting. Don't I need ventilation?
  21. I was thinking a dark graphite, I'm afraid orange is too much. But I don't think I will be able to paint them until Spring. It's probably too cold to paint now.
  22. Being in school myself, I'm happy to help out
  23. Yes they're the two piece ones. They are structurally fine. I just don't need 3 sets of rims and don't want to sand and clean these things down to fix them up. The back yard is small and lately it's full of tires Ali
  24. Yup, the rims have found a home I'm keeping them
  25. That was fun and easy. I filled it out. Good luck on your assignment Ali
