  1. I love my Mac too. I've been using Lightroom and do love it. Photoshop has me confused amd I use OnOne Photo Studio. I really would like a good HDR tool. I looked at your work, it's impressive! I really love a bold use of color
  2. That's not that far out, I have to go find it
  3. Where's Fairfax circle? This sounds like a perfect place!!!
  4. Mike, Those are really cool. Does the gopro have a fish eye lens? I love how you played with the colors. What are you using for post processing?
  5. The best I have found is the Exxon near my house has a high pressure hose that you can rent. I can do both MINIs if I work fast in the 10 minutes for $6. The biggest issue, is that it's really popular and can get a big line of people. Some people will finish with the hose and not move their car to finish it. The space is really tight. It's the only one I've found. They're on the Alexandria/ Annandale line at the corner of Braddock and Little River Tpk
  6. You got some good pics Steve. I added you as a contact on Flickr Ali
  7. Yay!! You and Alice were fun too. Hope to see you at more events.
  8. It was great meeting you too Mike, can't wait to see your shots :top:
  9. Here's some of the pics I took today
  10. Wow! What a fun day!!! We had a great group and I think we all fed off of each other creatively. I had a lot of fun. I'm processing the pictures now, I took over 200 of them so will put them on Flickr and post the link here. Can't wait to see everyone's pics. Ali
  11. OK then make sure you follow my directions to find the MINIs when you come in. Even if you don't I'll be in the Panera and we can all regroup from there. You'll need to pay a dollar for the parking, cash only I think Enter the garage on the Glebe St Side as soon as you enter, get your ticket, go to the right and turn where it says monthly (monthly doesn't apply on weekends) go right (it's a one way) Go down until you see MINIs. I am hoping to get there a little early so people will find Tigger.
  12. Yes! I'll be there
  13. Actually Ballston isn't that bad, that's why I picked it. By going downstairs to the area where the monthly parkers go we will be able to find empty areas. We can also head to the roof if we want and that should be fairly empty.
  14. So this morning I parked next to this nice chili red S that I seek out every morning in the parking garage. This morning I tagged it with a nice little note. I got back to Tigger at the end of the day and saw a scrap of paper on the window. I thought for sure it was from the MINI. "Awesome MINI Sincerely, The Saab in front of you" Sure enough there was a black Saab, so I tagged him with a club card and told him he had made my day:top:
  15. It looks like we'll have a good group and we should have a lot of fun on Saturday. I'm curious, if anyone would like to reply with their skill level of photography and what they're hoping to get out of the afternoon. I can help those of you that are not as into photography as others. Even with a point and shoot camera you can still get good above average shots. I am also happy to use my equipment to shoot your car. Some things I've learned about shooting MINIs to get a good look are as follows: Shoot them from a low angle Shoot them from a corner angle and not always straight on Get in there and do some close ups of your favorite parts like the headlights or side scuttles Try not to shoot your reflection in the MINI (you can avoid this by standing further back and zooming in) I think we're going to have a lot of fun on Saturday. This is the first time I've done this, so bear with me please I'll do my best to make it fun and help everyone get good shots. Ali
  16. I have blackish wheels, and the darn dust still showed
  17. I never changed mine, so they must
  18. Craig has faithfully guided me through all of my mods. :top:
  19. Yup, the dust is orange, kind of a rust color. It shows up on my Hyper black rims. Once I started treating them the dust didn't stick nearly as bad. I think those are the same I have. Craig would know better then me, he installed them
  20. Do we have to be nice to it? you know I'm joking, right...
  21. Wow that sounds scary. I'm glad you're OK. I only know of collisions places down here in the VA neck of the woods.
  22. Welcome to the forum, looking forward to meeting you at the shoot on Sat Ali
  23. To do that we first have to evaluate if we have too many MINIs, then does someone know the spot in advance and feel comfortable leading the group into it. I can't, I don't know the area. The last thing we need is to be frustrated trying to figure out parking etc. I think it could make great shots, but we need to know how to work it out. Ali
  24. Thanks!
  25. I have Hawk Ceramic brakes much less dust but the dust is orange. The one time I don't like orange. Laura taught me to use the Armorol wheel protector spray and the stuff really works.
