  1. If you have not been to one these before, I really encourage you to go. Even if you never intend to detail your own car, you will learn a lot. Darryl is great! I'd be there if I was in town!
  2. I was there recently and there weren't any speed bumps. I parked in the garage next to World of Beer.
  3. Are the tires all-seasons or summers? Also, are you willing to sell just the tires?
  4. Does anyone have a recommendation for a portable jump box? After a minor panic this morning, I realized I need one of these. There won't always be someone around to give me a jump. There are tons on Amazon, but it's really overwhelming and the reviews are all over the place. I don't need one with an air compressor, I already carry one of those. I don't care if it's one of the tiny ones that fits in the glove box, either. I just want it to work when I need it to. If anyone has any personal recommendations, that would be great!
  5. Yay!!! I have the BEST. IDEA. EVER. (ok, probably not, but I'm excited)
  6. I'm stuck as a maybe until I know if Michael's travel has changed, which I will hopefully know by this afternoon.
  7. 1,350 tractors just crossed the bridge! http://www.9and10news.com/story/33055712/mtm-on-the-road-2016-mackinac-bridge-antique-tractor-crossing
  8. Is this still on for tomorrow? If so, what is the ETA at Rocky Point and is that the end point? I might meet up with the group there since I live so close. :motor:
  9. Yay! The date doesn't conflict with Poolesville Day!! That's really too bad about Hard Times. They were so nice to work with, but the smoke is just nasty. Finding locations for the meeting is one of the hardest parts!!
  10. I added the route sheet to the Route Repository in case anyone is interested. :motor:
  11. I vote for Mosaic. I'm free any night next week.
  12. Here's a link to the events that RVA MINIs and HR MINIs have put together. http://mtts2rva.com/
  13. The route sheets have been posted on the MINI Takes The States website.
  14. Michael uses Adam's Leather and Interior Cleaner and Adam's Leather Conditioner on his Roadster's leather interior. It does a great job and smells good. I've also used it to clean and condition some of my leather bags, and it works well for that, too.
  15. There was someone in DCMM who did this a few years ago with a 2nd gen. I remember him saying it was a huge pain and it never really worked right. Unfortunately, he's not on DCMM anymore to ask.
  16. For those that are taking the Ferry (either to the run, in the middle of the run or after the run), please be aware there is a big event going on in the picnic shelter. It is the Poolesville Military Support Group’s Annual Outing to Entertain Wounded Military Personnel and Benefit Fisher House and Yellow Ribbon Campaign. They will be busing in about 100 wounded soldiers, caregivers and family members from Walter Reed and Fort Belvoir. The buses will be escorted by motorcycles that will leave from Cuginis between 10:00am and 11:30am. This is no way will interfere with our event, but there will likely be a lot more people at the ferry than usual. I expect this to be more of an issue if you are leaving the run early to head back than at any other time. :motor::motor::motor:
  17. I'll be there (unless there's a work issue that comes up in the next few minutes...). However, this is why I don't go to happy hours... Ted's is only 4.2 miles from my office and it will take me 20 minutes (of sitting in traffic) to get there. If I take the HOT lanes, it will cut that in half, if not more, but will be $5. Ugh. I HATE traffic around here!!! :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead: Just venting... I'll still be there. :top:
  18. I'll probably be there.
  19. I completed the final route check this morning and we're good to go for Saturday!! :motor::motor::motor::motor::motor: This was a perfect example of why you need to actually drive the roads and not just rely on a map. Several of the roads that looked to be paved on the map were most definitely not! I lost track of how many times I turned around today. There are NO gravel/dirt/otherwise unpaved roads on the route. The parking lot at the Creamery is gravel, but it's fine, very level and no holes or drop offs. Craig - I keep reading your RSVP comment as "server ROBOTS"!
  20. I saw Nick on 7 in Tysons as I was leaving work tonight. :wavey:
  21. I've updated the event with the mid-point stop of Rocky Point Creamery http://rockypointcreamery.com/ We'll arrive there around 11:30 (when they open), so it shouldn't be too crowded yet. I'm pushing our departure time back to 10:15 in order to get us there closer to 11:30am. The parking lot IS gravel, but it should be ok for us. I'm doing the final route check this weekend and I'll update if the lot is going to be any issue for anyone. I've been there a few times before and it was fine.
  22. Who is NOT planning on taking the ferry?
  23. Here's a link to the FAQ page on tint laws in this area: http://dcmetrominis.org/forum/topic/4628-what-are-the-state-laws-regarding-car-window-tint/ Cricket was originally a DC resident, but I wanted tint, so I had it done VA legal (50% all around - I didn't want it darker in the back). I never had an issue with the DC police, but I didn't do anything crazy, either. Now that she's an MD resident, I'd love to get her retinted to 35% all around, but it's expensive (and time consuming) to remove the old tint.
  24. You'll make it by 9:45. I'm also flexible, so I'm not going to leave without anyone. We aren't on a tight timeline.
