Does anyone know if they are going to have window clings this year? I loved the ones the second year, and was a little disappointed they didn't have any last year.

Clings have gotten really expensive so we had to drop them.

So if we pre-order/pay are you willing to get them again?

The problem with clings is the minimum order. They require we buy 100 before the cost starts to get reasonable, buying 100 clings eats a huge chunk into the budget and makes them too expensive for a give away.

We tried to figure out a way to sell them, but we still have that 100 cling minimum, and we might only sell 20 of them, so we would have to charge around $5 - $10 a cling depending on the interest. We're also fast running out of time to even get them before the event.

A few years ago they were much cheaper. Not sure what happened in the world of clings, but they are pricey now.

I was just working on the t-shirt orders and we are not even close to the minimum order, which is 24. I will not be sending invoices until we reach the minimum.

If anyone has not placed an order, please do! The deadline is October 24! Please PM me your order. There will not be any extra shirts for sale at the event, so you must pre-order.

I can order another two for my daughters, if that will help some. Let me get their preferred sizes.

I'm going to work on something special to recognize all the service members and veterans for the MTTB since it falls on Veterans Day.

If you're interested in being a part of this, all I need to know is what your rank/branch is/was. I'd also like to include photos of our service members in uniform. If you're interested, please send me the photo to my email. http://catalina.rivera2@gmail.com.

I would like to have all submissions by Sunday Nov 4th. Thanks!

We have met the minimum for the t-shirts!!

If you have ordered, you should have received an invoice or an email/pm asking for more information on your order. Please let me know if you ordered an did not receive one or the other.

This year Mike will be leading the run. He really stepped up as it's his first Beltway run and he's leading it, but we're pretty sure he won't get the group lost. Haemish has led the run the last 3 years and done a fabulous job. Thank you Haemish!!!

This year he was willing to lead again but really wanted a Veteran or active duty service member to lead. Mike is active duty Army (I got that right I think) and is excited to lead the group.

Does the run still have to be in the right lane?
No. After doing that once it became clear that was not safe. We are usually in one of the center lanes.
We now use one lane in from the right. This is to make things easier for other cars that are trying to exiting or merging on. Also, as a very large caravan, we drive the speed limit (or close to it), so we don't want to use the left lane and frustrate other drivers there either.

1 lane in from the far right is therefore the most sensible lane for MTTB.

Just a suggestion. Has anyone thought of contacting the local Police Dept and ask if they could stop traffic as we are all exiting the parking lot as to keep us all in one group as we enter the freeway ? Last year we got caught at the light and we had numerous staggered groups. I just thought it would look more prestigeous and it would be easier for all to stay in one group.

Yes, we've tried that in the past - it's easier said than done. We actually had the police help us with that on the very first MTTB, but it was from a different start point and a different county (Fairfax County). Since moving the start to PMoA, I believe we've tried and haven't had much success with getting an escort for that... or we were told we would have to pay for the privilege, and obviously we want the majority of funds to go to the charity.

That being said, if any Alexandria County residents (or people who personally know any Alexandria County police officers) would like to give this a try, it wouldn't hurt to try again.
