  1. Hello all, especially you competive drivers! I need a little forward planning advice in regards to wheel and tire setup. Here's what I currently have: 16x6.5 et40 Tire Size 205/50R16 (Currently with Winter Tires- possibily last season on them) 17x7 et48 Tire Size 205/45R17 (OEM Stock wheels- need new tires) With the exising intention/need of dailying, which Wheel should get the tire upgrade for the new year. I've been leaning towards either Continental ExtremeContact Sports or DWS tires. I'll be doing "spirited" runs (MOTD), possible AutoX and maybe a couple of track days. I have been weighing on the idea of getting a good set of 16x8 or 16x7.5 race tims and slapping a set of RE71Rs on it, but current budget says no (maybe after taxes are all sorted out). I think if I went with the 16sIi have (due to how much lighter they are then the 17s, i would think about getting some spacers to help push the grip surface out a little further. I'd really appreciate your input... Thank you in advance.
  2. This is great idea, can't wait to rock my new flair in the parlor...All in all, I hope someone wins something!
  3. I do, it may need a little cleaning. I'll take a pic in the next day or two.
  4. I'm Down with Orange Voted for Option 1 with updates posed by Haemish and Melissa
  5. YES!!!! I'll hold onto that link, till the new logo is added
  6. This may be side tracking this idea, but for me, I enjoy shirts...they're a way you show the places you've been/seen. (though the wife would say I have been too many places ) :idea:Anyways, if i can use this a plug for another item...I love the idea of polo shirts with DCMM embroidered if possible. Just a thought to wear something around the office.
  7. How about our logo in the free space?
  8. How Early? I'd need to be an hour ahead of you. Also, my man Xiek doesn't come down until Monday...anyone willing to let me crash for a night?
  9. :rock:I have been clear by my better half, I can leave either Sunday or Monday.:motor:
  10. typically, how long does it take to get there? Last year, from Baltimore I took Skyline Dr, Did a portion of Blue Ridge...then go off at Tye Dr to 81S, then I hopped off to do the back of the dragon. then straight into Fontana. Took 13hrs in one shot I'd love to do the Snake this year (for the old check in the box).
  11. Check with the Village now, There must have been quite a few cancellations as many lodges and rooms opened up!
  12. So...I signed up for welcome dinner, but would love to go with DCMM for some BBQ
  13. Does it make more sense to be a SCCA member and sign up for these, or can one just sign up for the events? I think there is a discount associated with it. I have gone back and forth on whether to become a SCCA member (which I imagine have more benefits than not), I'd love to do autocross just to be come a better reaction driver...but not sure that I can dedicate those amount of weekends as it comes up. While a member, do you get a drive log or other proof of competency that allows you to attend other events without having someone in the passenger seat for a track day? (wasn't sure if this was thread worthy, but just some questions i was thinking while on this subject) Cheers, Ross
  14. What year/model did this rack system come off of? many have different means of mounting. Just curious as I'm looking for an attic solution for my MCS
  15. Minis Slay the Sleeping Dragon? i think that one is in Fall...just as the leaves turn colors.
  16. Hello All, With Registration now opened, I was curious as to what events everyone is planning on doing? I know the focus for some is strictly running the Dragon but many like the 'excursions' to other places/roads. I'd love to run the Dragon as many times as possible, last year being my first time, i think I got about 16 runs (out and back) in.:motor: I hope to increase that number this year, without killing the great social aspect of this event. once I sort out my scheduled events i'll post my rundown Cheers, Ross
  17. Aw Yeah, I have been waiting for this to happen since departing last year. Already have my leave put in [blocked off a few days before and after].
  18. I have...cost me about $70 at an exhaust shop around the corner...It's a little more poppy and raspy on the high side, nothing to major. Shaves some weight but the remaining pod is on the driver side If you're not planning on acquiring an exhaust system anytime soon, I recommend. Will not throw an CELs. :top:
  19. Just to keep it on the road or have you 'massaged' more performance out of the r53? For the OP, purchased my r53 at 88K last year...sitting around 104k (hit 100K on the Dragon):top:. No "issues" at all but I have replaced some minor worn parts, which I was expecting/wanting to do anyways. Helps me get a fresh baseline on where there were some unknowns.
  20. Tire Racks Distribution facility is in Delaware, I've always selected ground and received them within 2 days from ordering...if you end up going that route.
  21. Ugh, just realized my 10K across the Bay bridge run is that same day :banghead::banghead::banghead:
  22. At Speed Motorsports is no longer in business :banghead: To think I finally found a tuner/shop near me...which would have been great!

I plan to go...let the hotel hunt begin.
  24. Wow, this is right around the corner from me. I'll look into this shop and let you know what I find out. I know that PTuning (Manassas) will provide the 'house/Dyno' for a remote tune with Jan from RMW, will require a bit of coordination though...he'll do the same for Helix (but they are in PA). I'n the past i heard that he'll fly out if there are enough cars at either site for in house tuning. Depending on what your plans are for the car over the next year...he'll most likely be a vendor at MOTD again, you could have it done on site there (and then test it out immediately):motor:
