  1. If that swaybar fit an R53, it would already be sold.... dangit.... lol
  2. I wouldn't have any issue with leaving a "bolt-on" part on the vehicle, but what you have is different- You're messing with boost levels using that power module, and I know that if you came into my shop for warranty issues I'd make a note of it...
  3. Sorry I wasn't there gang, this was one of my "non-car" weekends, and spent Sunday riding through DC on the DC Bike Ride!!
  4. While I have air at home, I also have a Dewalt cordless driver, and a Matco 1/4" one too... The Dewalt is nice for sending screws into wood, and smaller nuts/bolts on a car. The Matco driver, I actually slap an adapter on so i can use 3/8" sockets with it, because it's so strong...
  5. So today was a lot of fun! It started out for the morning heats with rain, but by the time I ran in the afternoon, the pavement was mostly dry and times were dropping fast!! I ended up placing 7th in a very strong STX field. Looking at video, it's easy for me to see(and hear) how badly I'm being hampered by not having a limited slip differential:
  6. SCCA Points event #1 tomorrow!!!
  7. Hey gang, I'm going to sell the roof rack off of my R53. Here's a link to the craigslist ad: http://washingtondc.craigslist.org/nva/bop/5551485480.html For club members here, I'll let the entire thing go for $420.
  8. I had fun out there yesterday, but didn't do anywhere near as good as I wanted... grrr.. Sunday night, I was staring at the car thinking "I didn't change a damned thing over the winter. I should do something..." So I yanked off the back tires and set the rear swaybar to full stiff... Not my brightest move, since on course the car just didn't want to settle in the transitions... It'll be back to last season's settings before this Saturday The course was great though, and I'm happy that we didn't have to deal with the temperatures being too cold.. :motor:
  9. I carry a tire repair kit, and a small electric compressor that fits in the glove box.
  10. I planned on getting there about 9am
  11. This Saturday the National Capital Chapter of BMWCCA is holding a cars and coffee event at BMW of Sterling! I'm planning on going, and think it would be cool if we could get a few more MINI's up there! http://forum.nccbmwcca.org/content.php?430-April-2-S3-Spring-Kickoff& Anybody else want to go?
  12. blossoms still up? Anybody interested in this Sunday?
  13. So the seemingly never-ending process of fixing the brakes on my R53 continues. After securing the new line and making sure my fittings wouldn't leak, I went to go bleed the system. Right rear caliper bleed screw snapped clean off!!! Okay, I guess I'll just replace the rear calipers(they are OLD, and covered in rust anyways). For 2003 model year MINI's, there is a production split on the calipers at April of 2003. Lucky me, my production date? April 2003.. I tell auto parts guy this, and he says no problem, orders everything up. Go to slap the new calipers on yesterday, and find the brake line is different. Sigh.. Call the parts guy today, and he can get me one caliper tomorrow, but the other one is about a week out. I WILL FIX THESE F*&&$%NG BRAKES DAMMIT!!!!
  14. Yeah, I was expecting it to break where it blew out, but was shocked when it snapped in THREE OTHER PLACES during removal!!! The bending tool is $15 at Vato-Zone
  15. Spent the hours before the "big game" replacing the hard brake lines running to the rear of the car- It was a joy trying to get the bends just right up and over the exhaust, and then around the fuel tank....
  16. Awesome!! I keep thinking about doing a big Union Jack pattern on the back half of the car...
  17. So... yeah.... HAHAHAHAHAHAAAA
  18. I'll be there!!!! (Guess I'd better wash Bruiser)
