From Mapquest: Note to I-40 Travelers in the vicinity of Asheville, NC: Both directions of I-40 are closed between Exit 20, West of Asheville in North Carolina, and Exit 421 (I-81 Interchange) East of Knoxville in Tennessee due to a rock slide at mile marker 2.6 on I-40 in North Carolina. The road is not expected to reopen for several months. You can drag your route to avoid this section of highway or use the official NCDOT Detour: Motorists traveling on I-40 West are advised to take Exit 53B, I-240 West. Follow I-240 West to Exit 4A, I-26 West. Follow I-26 West (a North Carolina Scenic Highway) to I-81 South. Take I-81 South and follow back to I-40, Mile Marker 421, in Tennessee. This route is 53 miles longer than I-40. We also recommend visiting the NCDOT Travel site for additional information. For your safety, always obey local construction and detour signs.

If anyone wants to try Naked Mountain wine, they sell it at Wegmans I believe Chrysalis is on/near the route. Gravel road to get there, though.

We'll be heading out on Wednesday morning. Most likely 7 to 81. I'll most likely keep a radio on at all times.

I've been looking for a new set of wheels for my '09 Clubman, and really like the look of the R98. If anyone has a set in 'excellent' condition at a reasonable price, contact me via email or PM. Will also consider a wheel/tire package. Not in a rush, but if MachV gets the Rota RBs in that I'm looking at, I won't need the R98's -Jim

I know it's last minute but... If you wear a men's size 9 shoe, I have a brand new, unworn pair of Piloti driving shoes up for grabs. They are size 9 1/2 but run small, which is why I can't use them. First person to respond or look me up gets them

I have a set of Cobra radios for use / to keep for whomever doesn't have radios. They work but battery life stinks. I'll bring them along if anyone wants the set (w/charger). EDIT: Cobra radios are spoken for! I'll also have a spare Motorola for use

We're still on for the drive, but I'm not sure about lunch and won't know until the day of. I'll be dropping J off at Dulles Airport in the afternoon.
