  1. If anyone see's this before heading out to meet at Sears (across the street from PMoA), I thought I'd offer up the opportunity to hit some back roads on the way down to Cooper Vineyards. According to Google Maps, this route is only about 15 minutes lon
  2. Try to remember your radio's and we'll be on 7/21 like usual. Look forward to seeing everyone in the morning!
  3. I'll bring cash or dog food! Yes, I meant Saturday for meeting up to head out to Cooper Vineyards. My mental day/month/year/time calculator has been off lately... I think middle age is catching up with me...
  4. I've created a monster....
  5. Seems there are a few that are interested in a meet across from PMoA at 9 a.m. Sunday for the run to Cooper Vineyards! I'll be there and if anyone has a an "extra" person that needs legroom, my passenger side will be empty as Lona will be between night
  6. Jason - hope you can make it out to the picnic because that will mean that everything worked out okay in FL. Can't wait for the picnic Laura!
  7. We'll be there, rain or shine! Farro? I guess I can't wait to find out what it is!
  8. I saw a crazy lady in an orange drop top MCS and she was waving with both hands! About a week before, we saw her and she was talking on the phone with one hand and waving like crazy with the other and you won't believe this but she was TOPLESS! Okay, the car was topless - she had clothes on but.....
  9. How would everyone feel about meeting at the Sears Parking lot across from Passport MINI? Meet at 9 a.m., wheels up at 9:30 and have a save drive down there? That location has easy access to 395 and all points south.
  10. Headed back home from the range last Friday and saw "REDMINI". Waved and honked but got no response! It's all good though, at least they are members already!
  11. Wolfie, Thanks for the bonus round! It was great to see everyone again, that's for sure. Hard to believe that this was our first event with the group a year ago. We were in a totally stock LB/LB MCS this time last year. Here's a link to the "fal
  12. Give "Carman" a shout and he can point you to a place where he's had some work done that is really, really awesome!
  13. But I asked for permission before posting it! And you are right!
  14. Jay, You are correct. The fisheye lens doesn't give you much range or it looks like you are a couple of city blocks away. The exception of course is unless you are actually laying around in front of one of these mighty gems. If you are doing that, it looks like the video at this link.... Anyone recognize the "players"? files.me.com/cmcveay1/prowe9.mov
  15. I'll give props to Dan and the guys at Mach V again. Had an oil change done out there last week as a walk in and it was done pretty darn quick at a very affordable price (because I was too lazy to do my own oil change). Ever time I've been out there to Mach V, it's been a very positive experience.
  16. Gart, Here's the link to the place where I picked up my dome light. http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/store/index.cgi?action=DispPage&Page2Disp=/led_prods.htm
  17. Brian, the Hawk HPS pads work really well (I put a full set on Lona's Z) and they are very low dust as well.
  18. "cooper senses"... Is that anything like "spidey senses"?
  19. Katie, Yep, it's a gasoline additive (the type that we use). Some people add it to the crankcase very shortly before an oil change. My experience is that it would evaporate from the crankcase pretty quick. I ain't gonna be the one to blaze a trail on that method and I'll only help with the induction system treatments. +1 on Pep Boys, that's where I get mine.
  20. Dan, great job with the props and all! It looks clean and happy now!
  21. It just goes to prove that lots of people out there driving are totally incapable of rec
  22. Yeah, that sounds like a loose fastener in there. I've got a bunch of dynomat and various thickness rolls of double-sided tape that you are welcome to try. I don't think the dynomat will be of any use but it's helped me cut down on some of my "self induced" interior noises. There's a video on YouTube of a guy pulling the dash apart of a 2nd Gen MINI - I can PM the link to you if you need.
  23. Who is that guy? Get him a movie contract! What a cool hat that guy wears!
  24. Welcome to the group and to the MINI! Carman's reply on the rattle was spot on, it's most likely a fastener of some sort. Are you able to isolate a general area of the annoying sound? I can relate as I am driven a little "batty" by those kinds of things. I've got plastic window hangars for my condo and work parking and they vibrate and make noise from time to time. As for the Speedo, it's a built in error to comply with EU laws and they (MINI USA) wont' change it. The good news is that the odometer isn't "fed" the same amount of "discrepancy" so it's accurate (or as accurate as an uncalibrated odometer can be). Enjoy the car and we look forward to meeting you at an event soon!
  25. Wow, the first "post event post"? left just for little old me? It was awesome to see so many MINI's out there last night and from the number of people stopping and staring, it was obvious that they thought the same thing! I got a laugh at the mall se
