If anyone is planning on going to see Carlos next week (26/27 November) I'll go along with you so Carlos know the MINI crowd appreciates his work. I'd like to put limo tint on my sunroof and maybe go darker on the rear side windows... Tks!

Brian, If we can't use rifles/shotgun, we can change the format to pistol or we might have to give up on the turkey shoot and just punch holes in paper. RedMini - The range has rentals on lots of different weapons if you are interested in trying a

Will a pre-facelift grill fit a facelift R50?
cmcveay replied to PSUMINI's topic in Maintenance & Modifications
Billy, Sorry, that's outside my "comfort zone" for an answer. There's gotta be a first Gen owner here or on NAM or one of the other MINI forums that would know this. -
Just a reminder about this months Meet and Greet if you can make it.

Will a pre-facelift grill fit a facelift R50?
cmcveay replied to PSUMINI's topic in Maintenance & Modifications
I'm not sure I'm following you Billy but I do have two spare R56 upper grills and you are welcome to try the fit. -
Tinted to VA max. No problems during inspection and no problems from LEO's on the streets. Tint has been on for almost 18 months with no problems (that I didn't create). I liked the work so much, I took Lona's "Z" to have it done. I went to Halstar (SP?) in Laurel, MD and the trip was worth it.

I had to go the stealthier route with my new IC. Painted it black and put it behind a heavily modified lower grill. Nice look though, which one did you decide to go with. I have a side-by-side comparison between the OEM IC and the Forge IC that I installed. There's a substantial difference between the two!

Ummmmm. LB (laser blue) with chrome OEM driving lights.

HEY! Lona and I were coming home from the grocery store this morning and we passed MINI MLZ! They waved! Lona was getting a card for them at the light but they turned into the Home Depot so I'm guessing they live somewhere close by. We'll keep an eye out for them.
-
Jay - you sure can. Take a look at the website for their restrictions but it's basically no incendiary, no tracers and that kind of thing. Standard FMJ is fine.
-
Dang it! Sorry folks, please let me know if you can make it. I'm going to be out there regardless as I need to sight in a couple of my firearms after some "mods". Yeah, I modify my personal weapons but not to the extent that I do my car...
-
Fixed. It's on the 21st.

Ryan, The Joey mod sounds far harder than it actually is but I understand what you are saying. Take a look at this link http://www.rvinyl.com/headlighttint/mini.html and take a look at their covers. I used a set of these to see if I liked the darker headlights and I did so I went to the Joey mod. The material that these things are made of is super tough and I have a set of clear that I'm going to put on just to protect my headlights. They have different colors and they come in sets. I also have a set for my front fog lights. Now, are they legal? I don't know. I pulled 'em off and went with the Joey mod before I did my safety inspection. Now, if ya "know" people, give it a go. Basically, there are no replacement covers for the 2nd Gen, just films/materials to cover the lens. If you do get 'em, make sure you have a heatgun, it makes the install much easier.

Try one handed, through the sunroof with the Nikon. Used the 10-24mm lens and a "slow" shutter speed. I hadn't planned on it, they were totally accidental!

It would have been awesome to have someone drive the MINI through that fog to catch the swirls around it!
-
No worries, thanks for the edit.

CR Fiona, I'd suggest a trip to the dealer as soon as possible. Most of us 2nd Gen owners have gotten letters about the high pressure fuel pumps as MINI USA has acknowledged that there have been some failures. Just this past week, BMW USA announced a recall of about 135,000 BMW's for the same problem. Your symptoms are exactly what other owners have had but it sure does sound like the problem the BMW's have been having.

Hey, Odj. Could you go back in and edit your post to include your asking price for the item(s)? That's part of the policy/guidelines for posting things on the market place. Tks, Craig

I just shot some video with a GoPro mounted on the rear hatch. I've got the same exhaust so I'll get it posted. This link "should" take you to the video. Some of the exhaust note is muted as I has packed the camera to cut down on wind noise. https://www.me.com/gallery/#100159

Lona and I will be on a Harley, somewhere in Death Valley while you guys are on the beltway. We will miss you all!

Friends, Photographers and MINI/Mini drivers, grab your gear and lend me your ear! The D.C. Metro MINI's monthly photo contest has risen like the Phoenix! It's time to drag out your camera, clean up your car and get out there to make some art! The rules and submission guidelines for the contest are here - http://dcmetrominis.org/forum/topic/7-dcmm-photo-contest-rules/ Contest begins: Today, right now, get going! Contest closes: Midnight, November 16th. Theme: Fall colors/Thanksgiving. Reminder: Please remember that we are a group of MINIacs so your photo submissions MUST have something MINI/Mini related in it. Please make it obvious for the "gifted" among us (that's me) and this month's selection committee will thank you.
