  1. I was digging around in some of my pictures the other day and I found these images from the original Spring Fling, 12 years ago! This is the one that was led by Bruce Pancoast (mty_mini), and organized with Jen Oakes (Jen). My co-pilot was Alan (Scavenger), who didn't have a MINI yet, but bought one a year after I did.
  2. Yep - RSVPs are OPEN! Susan and I did the practice run yesterday, and it was a beautiful day for it. The roads are mostly in great shape - there's even new paving on most of Snickersville Turnpike, which makes for a very smooth ride. There are a few other roads on the route where the road isn't in top shape, but no gravel roads. Attached below is a copy of the April lunch menu at Griffin Tavern, our lunch stop. I highly recommend the Shepherd's Pie - absolutely delicious! :eating: Looking forward to seeing a bunch of you at the event in less than 2 weeks! :motor:
  3. Pure coincidence, dictated by the restaurant's schedule.
  4. I am hoping to make it to Ted's, so that could work. If not, let's try to sync up another day after that.
  5. Brian - I'll take Ian Cull auto-up circuit. I already have one (an older version of it), and it still works fine... but would be nice to have a spare if it fails.
  6. Good page! Back in the earlier MINI heydays, I used to use this MINI2 forum page as a good reference: MINI Cooper Forum - FAQ & DIY: Wheels and Tyres Unfortunately, the image links have all broken on it, but it still has some useful info not shown on the earlier page - wheel weights! Excellent info if you care how much your wheels weigh (and you should). It's through that page that I learned that the 1st Gen GP 18" wheels (R107) are actually lighter (19.8 lbs) than all of the OEM 17" wheels... which is one of the big reasons I use them for my summer set (in addition to me really liking how they look). (Yes, there are a number of aftermarket wheels for MINIs that are lighter still... but I wanted to stay OEM.)
  7. If you mean the photo you posted at the start of this thread, you have R90s. They look similar at a glance, but the R90s have straighter spokes and the R98s have more curvy spokes.
  8. Yeah, that's the R98, or "web spoke". I originally had them on Mr. OEM (a factory option).
  9. I'm still interested in the OEM outdoor car cover, should the eventual buyer not need it.
  10. I'll order 2 (one long, one short) from work tomorrow.
  11. If you want high quality work, I highly recommend D&V Autobody, in Sterling VA. (703)661-8545 They aren't the cheapest, and they aren't the fastest, but they do top notch work... as you will able to tell from the range of cars they work on (including exotics). I've had both my MINI and my Mustang in there for extensive work and I've been very happy with the results. The manager there is Kevin - good guy.

  13. It's that time of the year again! Spring is in the air, old man Winter is running off to hide, and the trees are starting to blossom! 14. Sure - that works, thanks! ...but if it becomes a problem/conflict for some reason, we can find another space.
  15. Sounds great! ...hopefully it will be early enough to not conflict with the Brew Swap though...
  16. Cool - I have the "Imploding Kittens" expansion pack, too. The Joking Hazard expansion doesn't come out until May 1 (while we're there at MOTD).
  17. Hey guys, Are any of the folks in the club who are coming early, interested in a game night at MOTD? I have the following games that I could bring, for example: Settlers of Catan - 3-6 people Cards Against Humanity - 4-20+ people Joking Hazard - 3-10 people Exploding Kittens - 2-9 people Secret Hitler - 5-10 people I figure that on one of the early nights (Sunday, Monday or Tuesday), it could be a fun thing to do.
  18. Well, being a SINK helped to avoid that.
  19. 11 years ago, a friend of mine introduced me to the RealOEM site... and it has been a long, expensive ride ever since - all it did is let me discover all of the OEM parts & accessories I must buy!
  20. That's great! :top: What are the green and yellow ones for?
  21. Spotted yesterday (Thursday): A blue Honda Civic sedan, with an "I am the Stig" sticker in the rear window... ...driving like a Great Grandma the way to church on Sunday, while in a blizzard... and drunk.
