  1. So, suppose I do decide to go, which is a really hard decision this year due to various factors, I have no idea where I'll stay.... any thoughts? P.S. I've already been offered a kitchen and a back porch... HAHA (I said no)
  2. I hate the chips too, fortunately for him, the silver is easier to touch up and hide the defect.
  3. I thought rock chips were a badge of honor!!
  4. Slanket, slanket, slanket!!!! (chanted like Toga, toga, toga)
  5. Haemish, Was your fact about the ECU due to just a MINI policy, or was there also a technical impediment to prevent the tune from being applied? If so, meaning there is NO way this car has the tune, then this would be problematic for how the car might run as the JCW kit includes a different exhaust, cylinder head, pulley, and injectors, all of which really NEED that tune to perform properly.
  6. WOW, looks nice! It's a little too soon to buy it for my daughter though.
  7. It was the little strap for the belt tensioner. One of the bolts fell out, PMoA suspected lack of Loc-Tite when it was reinstalled. We can only speculate though.
  8. All, Just a quick word concerning mods installed at MOTD. We've probably all had at least one of some description while at MOTD. There's a reason I'm posting this... I'm getting my MINI serviced and they've just discovered a missing bolt that explains a rattle that I've had for a while now. This is a bolt associated with a mod I got at MOTD last May. So, I'm not trying to discourage anyone from getting mods, BUT, at least try to learn as much as you can about the potential mod and understand what it involves and how long it might take. If you choose to get a mod, don't be afraid to ask the vendor to check and re-check for missing parts, loose bolts, general "work-quality". The MOTD vendor area can become very chaotic at times, and while many vendors are willing to take on very large jobs - brakes, sway-bars, cylinder heads, often bragging they can do it very quickly - pulleys in 10 minutes!! Even the most experienced technician can make a mistake in that sort of environment. The last place you want to find out that a mod was not installed properly is ON THE DRAGON!! :embarassed: So, just be cautious and informed. Enjoy MOTD!
  9. Are you trying to do ASCII art with smilies?
  10. I second this, if you just recently had that work done, you should have some warranty on the work, because it doesn't seem to have been done right. You shouldn't have to worry yourself to fix something a shop didn't get right. Good luck!
  11. Red Robin in Fair Oaks? It can get crowded out there too.
  12. We've created more monsters!!!!! :rock::rock::rock:
  13. HOLY CRAP!!! I guess nobody got the "NO Countryman" memo! LOL JK
  14. That looks really nice!! :top:
  15. Try to determine if the car has any after-market ECU tune on it.
  16. I'm not sure if I'll make it but here are some links to some Virginia Breweries if ya wanted to pick something up that might make for a rare find at the swap: Shenandoah Brewing Blue & Grey Brewing Co. Starr Hill Heck! Here's some in North Carolina too: (All 3 on the way) Nantahala Brewing Co. (This one's in Bryson City) Pisgah Brewing Co. (Black Mountain) Sapphire Mountain Brewing Co. (Sapphire, NC) There's plenty more if you search the web!! So, you don't have to show up with something that everybody else has already seen.
  17. It would be interesting to see what the differences are *if any*, the most likely change would be to take into account the Clubman's added weight, but other than that, they might actually fit just fine.
  18. I've heard those are noisy and can decrease life expectancy for pads and rotors. Probably a bit much for a road car, race car or track car, maybe worth it.
  19. Yep, they're discontinuing MINI work.
  20. BUMP! DINAN is running this sale again. Of particular interest might be the camber plates and the rear anti-sway bar. Unfortunately, they've sold out of the intake, which was really a gem! oh well.
  21. Of course not!
  22. Cool, sounds like a plan!
  23. Thanks, looks like a nice place. Do they keep it warm in there? I might even try and go up there next weekend to do some stuff. Does anyone else have any work to do? It would be fun to do a group thing :motor:
  24. I just don't know... between unknown job schedule, school commitments and new baby, I probably won't know if I can go until a couple weeks ahead. I'm keeping my fingers crossed though:top:
