  7. My turn , rather than quoting the previous responses, I'll just hit the items as I go along... 1. Ride Comfort vs. Performance Handling - If you are concerned about this and want to be thorough, you'd need to test the following four combinations: a. no Sport-Suspension with 16" wheels b no Sport-Suspension with 17" wheels c. Sport Suspension with 16" wheels d. Sport Suspension with 17" wheels This is really a personal preference based on your driving style and what look you're going for. The MINI handles very well regardless and includes anti-lock brakes and traction control, and you can add the option for DSC (stability control) all of which work very well keeping you safe. Also, the difference in tire that Ali mentioned might have some affect as well since the All-season tire might be (ever-so)slightly softer than the Summer performance tire. In the end, make sure you are buying what YOU want and not what your family/friends/co-workers are telling you to buy! 2. YES to Xenon headlights!! 3. YES to auto-A/C 4. Stereo system - If you enjoy jamming to your tunes, the base unit might not be good enough, so you'll want to upgrade to the H/K option. The most important thing to remember here is that the MINI cannot be upgraded to a standard after-market system like so many cars of past, while it is possible to upgrade the speakers, it is a big job - it is really better just to go factory upgrade (Harmon-Kardon) and not have to worry about it later. 5. YES to heated seats!! 6. Also, like Edge mentioned, if you haven't used the Configuration Tool on miniusa.com, you absolutely should! Not to say that you can't have full confidence in the dealership, but by configuring your own and printing the brochure with pictures and line by line option listings, you can insure that you will be getting the MINI that is right for you. GOOD LUCK!!!
  8. I just thought it would be fun to start a thread about getting our MINI's ready for Winter. The change in the weather today - quite a bit cooler - gave me the idea. Some of the topics that generally arise are: winter tires/wheel sets battery checks fluid checks wiper changes Maybe there are some other things that should be done to prepare your MINI for the Winter, such as....:questionmark:
  9. Welcome, and Hi Eva! You'll definitely enjoy the increased gas mileage!

  11. I REALLY hope I can go, although, as with the last two years, I can't promise anything yet. I'm afraid it'll probably be a last minute decision and I'll find myself scavenging around for some place to stay! Hopefully, this will be the last time though, as my wife will have finished her Masters degree and my daughter will be a little older. I'm excited about the fact that this being the 10th year, there will be some celebration and a reunion of the original founders.
  12. You could email the picture to someone, perhaps a board member, I'm sure they'd gladly post.
  13. I'm glad to see all the recommendations for Cali Tint, Kattiya and I are wanting to get this long overdue job done on the Acura and the MINI. Do they offer any club discounts for us?
  14. A Clubman that looks like a WWII fighter plane engine would be cool!
  15. This just occurred to me! HAHA, I was reading some stuff on NAM and this idea just popped in my head. Trying to explain how Mr. OEM (Edge's MINI) produced so much smoke. Now, realizing that he did put an entire can of Seafoam in the PCV, but still, I just wonder.... His MINI has the JCW kit which uses a colder heat range Spark plug, (7 as opposed to 6) than standard S models. I don't think anyone else there had an R53 JCW that day and even though most of the other R53's (B.A. and Tigger at least) have a pulley and other mods, they probably have standard plugs, I know B.A. does. Could it be possible that the lower range plug is enough to cool the engine enough to promote higher rate of carbon build-up? Just a MINI geek thought for the night
  16. Well, not so much :toilet: more of :puke:
