  1. Today
  2. I hosted an "open" run this past Saturday and a) it's not on the list at the top of this post b) did not get socialized so unless someone happened to check the calendar it wouldn't have been seen and c) even after setting a start location conducive to DC Metro members (which was an early alarm & not particularly convenient for me) the attendees were from other MINI groups & not DC Metro. So not sure what the reasons for the low attendance and dearth of folks willing to volunteer are -- but at the status quo, I fear, it's going to be tough for the club to survive.
  3. Thanks to those who came out for this event. I wasn't good about taking pictures (got spoiled in Scotland last month with a dedicated photographer!) Unfortunately, I set the meetup spot in Ashburn to accommodate DC Metro members & of the MINI friends who joined in, none were from DC Metro. Any future events I host will be based out of Frederick for the convenience factor ...

  5. Hello Club Members, who would like to help out your VP and sign up to lead some Fall runs? Not sure? We'd love to help you set something up. We are in need of the following: NOVEMBER: OPEN RUN LEADER SEPTEMBER: HSB LEADER OCTOBER: HSB LEADER NOVEMBER: HSB LEADER
  6. Last week
  7. Just as an FYI, there are several Ohiol clubs mashing up Friday AM from the Cleveland and Toledo area -- about a days drive from the DMV to join up on Friday morning. If interested, check out NEO MINI or NOMO MINI, there's probably others. (Just as a 2nd FYI, it doesn't appear that the RSVP link above works)
  8. Event Title: Mini on the Mack 2025 Event Date: 08/01/2025 12:00 AM to 08/02/2025 12:00 AM Event Address: Over the past 10 years, 5,987 MINI Coopers gathered for MINI on the Mack, a parade across the Mackinac Bridge in Mackinaw City, Michigan, to break the English-held world record for largest-ever MINI Cooper parade. The parade was organized by MINI of Grand Rapids, with the support of MINI USA, and has become the perfect way to bring the community of car owners together. For more information check out www.minionthemack.com. Several DC Metro Mini's will be in attendance this year for MOTM 2025! This is the place to throw some photos and let the rest of the club know how much fun it is. If you plan to attend and you are from the DMV area, even if you haven't joined the club yet, please let us know as well. RSVP on the event here:

  10. Sounds good. Feel free to join for whatever part works for you. If you can do the short drive - only about an hour - from The Filling company to the distillery that's fine. If you can just meet up at The Distillery and skip lunch that's fine too. Just don't forget to get tickets if you're going to be able to make the bottling workshop.
  11. Oliver got new wrap, bonnet stripes, PPF and ceramic last week. It's coming together!
  12. Earlier
  13. My Saturday is currently a mess, but I'm still trying to see if I can rearrange things to attend.
  14. This event is one week away ... a couple of Carlisle MINI club members signed up, where's the DC Metro represent?? Must have a ticket (free) and there are a limited number available, so please get a ticket and RSVP asap. I've done the bottling workshop a couple of times and it is fun, interesting, and educational .. For clarification, the drive is from the Filling Co to the Distillery -- it's only about an hour. The bottling event is at 10 and I can't set an alarm any earlier. Well, I could set an earlier alarm, but I don't wanna
  15. So I ordered a set of 18x8 ET 45 Neuspeed rse11r wheels, and despite the claim from the manufacturer that they are "designed to elevate the Mini F56 driving experience", and multiple fitment sites showing successful projects and stating they fit, they don't actually fit. I am now one week away from a 2000 mi road trip and my wheels and tires don't fit, and my runflats need replaced. I am in search of wheel spacers that can be delivered in time to wedge back into a shop schedule, but not sure if 5mm spacers will even work since apparently small spacers like that may not leave enough hub for the wheels to mount. This seems to be a really over complicated process of determining what will/wont fit on this car. Hopefully we get it fixed...if not and you are looking for some wheels let me know. : /
  16. Ok, never mind.. I found CANbus error free lights on amazon that I installed and the light turned off.
  17. And does anyone know how to turn the function that checks on the lights off? I'm getting cc id-131 because I'm using led light's Thanks

  20. Bimmercode is going to be one of the better options, It is what I use on both my wife's F56 and my R58
  21. Ok so, im looking for suggestions for an OBD2 app. I want to use it to check for codes (duhhhh) and mainly to adjust features. The main feature i want to turn off is the one that went on when I changed the daytime running lights to LEDs. Or is there something else I can do about the light code?
  22. You are correct on the tire, with a front wheel drive car you should always have standard wheels on the front and the narrow spare on the rear. As for the jack, the MINI uses jack blocks not pinch weld jack point like most modern cars. So you will need a scissor jack with a flat jacking pad like the photo.
  23. Ok, so wheels are tires are coming, now I need a spare and jack. From what I have found a small 15" emergency spare should work for the back, and I will have to move a back tire to the front if I get a front flat. Is that generally correct? For a jack, is there a special jack or block? Can any scissor jack and wrench work?
  24. Looks great! Thank you!
  25. Perfect! I updated the event with the details, let me know if you see any errors. I also put in a plea for a Navigator for this run.
  26. We will start in Poolesville. Driver's meeting at 10:30, leave at 10:45. Michael will be leading and will need a navigator. The route will be about an hour. Harpers Ferry Brewery is family and dog friendly (dogs need to stay outside) and they serve food. I will be at the brewery because they are having a market day, so I will be set up as a vendor!
