  1. David has been watching the weather and it looks like Sunday may have a bit of rain. He would like to still do the run, but he's trying to determine if there's enough interest because of the weather forecast?

If you've decided not to go because of the weather, would you please decline on the event link as soon as possible so that he has an idea of how many are still interested.

I will be completing a reconnaissance check for the Winchester Run tomorrow (23APR23), if anyone would like to tag along.  I will begin at the Run’s starting point, the Leesburg Public House, at 0930.  I plan to depart by 0945 and drive the entire route to check on timing/route compatibility (no dirt roads).  I will also be sampling a beverage at Vibrissa Beer and Kitchen, then heading to the outdoor walking mall for lunch.  If you are planning on attending the April Board Meeting via Zoom, you will probably have to do it from Winchester.  I will be posting the GPX route by Tuesday.

We're really looking forward to this run, thank you so much for doing it!

  4. Event Title: A Winchester Run

    Event Date: 04/30/2023 09:30 AM to 04/30/2023 02:00 PM

Event Address: 962 Edwards Ferry Rd, Leesburg, Virginia, 20176, United States

Please join us for a Sunday drive through Virginia’s rolling countryside.  Our drive will begin at the Cars & Coffee in Leesburg and we will head south and west through some of the prettiest scenery in Virginia.  This run will be limited to 15 MINIs and will be focused on enjoying the countryside in a controlled driving experience.  We will pass along two meandering rivers (makes for nice twisties), cruise by many of Virginia’s horse farms, make a quick pit stop in Marshall, pop over the Blue Ridge Mountains, skim the Shenandoah River twice (if you put your hand out it will get wet), and eventually arrive in Old Town Winchester (https://oldtownwinchesterva.com).  Our final destination will be at Vibrissa Beer and Kitchen where we will have lunch and discuss our Little Virginia Journey (LVJ).  If you haven’t been to Old Town Winchester before, we are only two blocks from the Walking Mall which has unique shops, ice cream, restaurants and three breweries (an extra one is only a block away).

Start Point:  The Leesburg Public House – 962 Edwards Ferry Rd, NE, Leesburg, VA 20176

End Point:  Vibrissa Beer and Kitchen – 10 N Kent St, Winchester, VA 22601 (vibrissabeer.com)

    Schedule of events:

    09:30: Driver’s meeting

    09:45:  Run Starts

11:15:  Pit Stop (Food Lion, Marshall, VA)

    11:30:  Leave Marshall, VA

13:00:  Arrive Vibrissa Beer and Kitchen

Does it need to be on a Saturday? I could do 23rd or 30th. How long does it need to be and do we need to end at a restaurant or Brewery/Winery?

Hi David, we'll take any day anyone is willing to do! Saturday or Sunday

-We have our club Board meeting on Sunday the 23rd at 2:00 so that wouldn't be ideal

-If you wanted to do it on the 30th Mike and I would be available to assist. The length of the run is up to you.

-We did our last run to a sandwich shop, so any where you'd like to go to we'll follow!

  6. Hey fellow DCMMers, we need a run leader for April's open run.

As you know, we only had a HSB for March because of the AutoX event, and April is shaping up to (only) have a HSB because of lack of help.

Corey & Brandy will be off to The Dragon, and while Mike & I are NOT going to The Dragon this year, we are busy with our daughter's wedding, so we can't plan a run.

We really need someone else to step up and volunteer, as this is an ALL volunteer club.

It does not have to be an all day run, and if scheduled on the 8th/15th/29th Lorri & Mike can help with the run.

    ~Thanks, Lorri (STXMINI)

  7. We created a YT channel to wrangle all of the DCMM run videos that are posted on member's private YT channels.

You can find the new DCMM channel here:

    https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6CfKtGq4rnA1EUvvqtOnUQ

Don't forget to subscribe If we get 100 subscribers, I can change that loooong URL to a custom one that is shorter. '

** If you have videos you'd like to upload to the channel please contact @STXMINI for access to the account.

Added wireless CarPlay to the Roadster old CiC nav setup. Zero instructions, so it took a bit of fiddling to get it all hooked up (and disassembling the entire center stack all the way back to the armrest to get to the i-drive stalk). But works really well and definitely updates the car.

That looks great, and your Waze map looks bigger then the one that shows up in my OEM nav system 🤣

  10. Registered users, if you have found your way to this post looking for information to sign up for the Autocross school, registration is currently only open for paid club members as a benefit of their membership. We will open registration for all on February 8th.

If you have been considering a DCMM membership anyway, individual yearly memberships are $26, and couple's yearly memberships are $35, membership purchase can be found in the DCMM STORE

  11. Hey friends!

I may be missing some people when sending out the monthly newsletters each month, so I'll be posting them as PDF's on the public events page, just in case you didn't get it. (If you didn't please make sure you let me know so that I don't miss you the next month.)

The newsletters are a condensed version of everything that is happening with the club each month, and for those that are not on social media.

  12. Fun day today everyone! Thanks for being willing to come out on such short notice. It was a great turn out for a hastily pulled together run. Thank you to Tom for sweeping, and to everyone for the much needed (On my part 😆) socializing at Vanish
