  1. GTPeace in Chantilly does pre-purchase inspections if you could get the one you're thinking of purchasing over there.
  2. That is a cool idea. Maybe a strip of foam around the top edge of the car to create that "lip" that is on the top edge of the wagon?
  3. Missed this thread before I replied to the "parade prep" one! I can make up a bunch of Santa hats with the "MINI" logo on them and (maybe) elf ears attached for any walkers/riders that wanted them. I was thinking the regular red/white fur but that may be too close to a "Santa" so maybe green/red fur. I've never made elf over "shoes" before but I may mock a set up and see how they turn out. Let me know what you think!

    Parade prep

Is there something that we need for the walkers or riders? I've made Santa hats before and could put a MINI logo on them and maybe even add elf ears.
  5. Got my first "snowflake in a triangle" warning while driving to the gym this morning with the top down since it was only 35 degrees F. I figured it is only 2 miles and it made sure I was awake when I got there :-).
  6. I RSVPd as well and did not get a reply. Not done with my costume yet - but been working on it daily and it is finally starting to come together. Still have to work out how to keep his pants on since they fell off while I was doing his last fitting - and we won't want to have that happen at the event :-).
  7. Left a "tag" note on a green MINI cabrio with white stripes that has been coming to the Saturday 8am class at Orange Theory Fitness in Fairfax for the last few weeks. Tried asking who's it was as I was leaving the 7am class but no one claimed it. If it was you, hope to see you at MINI's take the beltway!!

    Lunch Run

Ditto! That was really fun! And it was a beautiful day to be out there with the top down. The "twisties" were exciting and I think I caught some air going over those hills. Maybe you can see me yelling "wheeeeee!" in the video :-). Thanks for setting it up!
  9. Love it! Should we all RSVP to them individually if we are dressing up or are they watching the post to see how many of us are coming? I suppose I'll RSVP and just tell them that I'm on the list above so they don't double count me :-).
  10. Just got home from the clinic - learned a TON of stuff and took a lot of notes. I especially loved those "well, the instructions on the bottle say x - but what you REALLY need to know is y" stuff. It was a great. Thanks for setting this up and thanks to Darryl for hosting it!
  11. Got mine ordered too - now I'll have to schedule a tune up and get ready to drive!
  12. Will folks be parking in the same place - Target Third Floor?
  13. For this one, we don't have to be able to drive in costume, right? Meaning that I don't need to worry about obstructing airflow or other mechanical thingys like tires. Looking at some pics from previous events, it looked like the cars got dressed stationary - so that opens up the options quite a bit :-).
  14. Their site says "our techs are all ASE certified Technicians as well as factory trained" - now I have to go google that to figure out what that means :-). They checked my MINI out for me the week after I bought it (they do PRE-purchase inspections but I was too anxious to buy it so I did a POST-purchase instead) and they were really great. Galen put up with all my silly questions and pointed out safety things like my needing to go get a slime kit since I have non-run-flat tires. I was really happy to find a shop I can trust and omg their shop is so clean you can eat off the floor. And make sure you ask to see the video of the surfing pig when you're there.
  15. Wow - that is really cool - 115mph?!! It got a little scary when the car in front was breaking :-).
