  1. I was doing 45 but wasn't really paying attention as I can down the steep hill there. He was coming the other way I glanced at the speedo and saw 54, oops. He flipped his light as we passed each other so I pulled into that turn off and waited, try to score some brownie points. No luck.
  2. Yeah I heard the radio heckling as you all went by. When you have bright orange mirrors and rally lights I don't think the ranger believed that I lost track of my speed.
  3. 1 mile an hour under wreckless, thank you mini for the 3 mph buffer on the speedo. First ticket in 10 years. 35 is really slow especially on the downhills.

  13. Brandy and I are in. Picked up ebony from Dr passport today, she had spiked a fever, lucky no EBOLA just a bad thermostat housing. [emoji6]
  14. I painted the wife's. It is a pretty easy process: base coat, wet sand, clear coat, wet sand. It like 20 bucks in supplies.
  15. Cooling fan motor crapped out.
  16. First Brandy got sick of me smelling like molasses, so she bought me these. Should come in handy with the looming Ebola outbreak too. The block has crawled out of the ooz after 3 weeks and I am ecstatic with the results. Paint oiled, and will try to get it to the machinist to have the cylinders honed this week. Some Additional parts I let soak for a week and hit with a fresh coat of paint. Put the crank, cam and pistons down for a soak today.
  17. Great idea for a thread, thanks for posting it

  19. wish I wasn't traveling. I need to make the next one
  20. Pulled the head out of the molasses bath today after two weeks. Powerwashed, baked at 200 degrees for 30 minutes (don't tell brandy), taped, painted, and oiled. Sorry Ali no orange decided to go with year collect black. just need to replace a valve guide on cylinder one and it will be ready to reassemble. for the guide I plan to heat the block and freeze the guide, hopefully that gives enough play to press it in with my 3 ton press.

  22. I didn't get to name my car, Brandy told Ali she like Watson, and that made it offical.
  23. and it's about two inches longer than that smart car of yours.
  24. I left this with the block and head going down for a molasses bath. I decide to take a peak and see how it was doing today. This was what I found when I popped the top, I guess that means its working Here are the pieces hosed off they are sqeaking clean, but going to drop for another week to finish off the trouble rust spots in the water jackets and thermostat housing. Very impressed with the results of a $10 bottle of molasses and some water versus $150 to have it hot tanked. hope to be painting them next weekend:top:
