  3. Glad to here it was a simple fix.
  4. I bet the plastic guides the timing chain rides on broke or began to fail, this is a known failure part. This causes the replacement of most peoples timing chain under warranty.. Good thing because if is breaks while running very bad things happen, n14 is and interference engine. Also the tension screw for the chain comes through the back of the engine, and has kind of a low spring tension. Some have it upgraded to help prevent this problem. Glad to hear everything worked out
  5. Shouldn't this say book your shoot with AWARD WINNING Photographer.:congrats:
  6. Laura, Sounds a lot like what was going on with Ebony, it ended up being carbon buildup. Had the walnut blast done, and it was night and day difference. Unfortunately not a DIY or cheap fix.
  7. Edge is our resident encyclopedia on MINI.:top:
  8. My wife got me a blue tooth OBD2 port that works with an app you install on your table or phone. I was skeptical on how well it would work as a 20 dollar internet purchase, but works great. You can read codes, and reset. Also display different gauges in real time, like temp, boost, etc... Maybe she will be nice enough the weigh-in with the link were she got it, Brandy_Brown
  9. Wisconsin is known for its Mountains:stupid:
  10. You can get the codes scanned at any autozone or other parts store for free.
  11. Disclamer: I only play a mechanic in my garage on the weekend, and classics are my forte. P2277- is O2 sensor stuck rich, if that is the case it would be giving a false reading and the computer would be leaning the engine out to correct a rich mix that is not really there. Causing the P2187 - system to lean at idle. So bad o2 sensor would be causing all the lean codes. There is one before and one after the cat, not sure if you disconnect one o2 sensor connector if it will default to running off only the other. If so the could confirm this bad and which, but if one is bad its good practice to replace both. They are a common fail part. Hope this helps. I will stick to my carburetor, these computers make gas, air, spark way to confusing, lol.
  12. That cover always goes bad, there is a seam from the molding process where the vacuum hose (i.e. Seafoam intake) attaches that always starts to fail. I search the deepest depths of the interweb and about the cheapest you can find it is 350. I know some key personnel moved on since may of those reviews were written, Ali would be a good person to poke for an update. ALI!!!!!!!! Leaving your club badge hanging on the review mirror when you drop it off is a good way to not forget, or if you use them often and you have a good SA they know or can make a note in your account.
