  1. 13s just haven't developed a taste for oil yet, they're still babes. Give them a year or so. Really it's pretty simple Turbos like oil.

    Thanks everyone for your input.

My 2008 S consume about 1 quart every 1500 miles. So it seems to be on par with most other 07-08 S posted here.

So from the information posted so far, seems like the 02-06 is fine, and the latest 13 model is fine too. All other models should definitely check their oil regularly :-)

    Please keep this information coming.

  2. WOW, and the award for most confusing answer to a simple question goes the Ali.

Yes you can use your GPS to get between places. At least I don't see a rule against it.

In this case a your GPS is not a navigator. Your navigator is the person that looks at the clues and works with you to help you go find them. Then you find them and you guys go take a picture of it. You don't have to have one but they do make the day more fun.

For example the clue is to find a business with the name MINI in it. A GPS may not be that useful, you might need your smart phone for that. Having a real human means that they can be researching clues while you're driving around to them. The navigator helps you stay organized. Making sense?

  3. I'm not going to answer that.

It's not about speed... it's more time management. Since it's in Northern VA, there's a lot of traffic, so if that's an issue for Watson you may want to reconsider. I do my best to have clues that take you off of the main/busy roads, though.

Cool, he is good is traffic and around town. It is extended highway driving, the water pump is driven of crank, so fast you go faster it spins. To qoute 80s rock, "I can't drive 55"

I will talk to brandy and make it a solid yay or nay.

SO there's a bonus for driving a classic mini, right:top:

  5. Easy way to stop it, would be to send the person a traffic citation for every infraction in the video. You are posting evidence of you violating the law on a public forum, not a smart move.

Not claiming to know the in an outs of the law, but seems like it wouldn't be much of a stretch for them to do it. do much different then a speed camera or stop light cam.

  6. I hope everyone had an enjoyable memorial day weekend. We have one spot left, any takers.

  8. Lets make this an official event!!!!!!

Who: Their website is www.nolimitmobilewindowtinting.com They have been in the tint business for 22 years and have many examples of the work on the webpage. Also some nice exotics if you just want to oogle some cars (talking to you Tyler). The brand of film used is Global Window Film the quality is High Performance. They have used this film for 10 years and never had any issues. They can provide 7 different percentages ranging from 50 % to 5% as we all have car registered across the beltway.

Fun fact: if you resister your car for commercial use in VA you can get around the tint laws.

Where: Craig’s has been kind enough to volunteer the GarageMahal

When: June 15th or 22nd Looking to do this on a Sunday (Something about Craig wanting to play with his new toy.) I will post a poll to lock down the day.

    -$200 for a Clubman.

Please let me know if you’re in and the time slot you would like, also the day. Thanks and hope to see you all there

  9. Doing it yourself is pretty easy. Two bolts and caliper comes off. What I will say is do not get the pepboys non-oem replacement sensor, the connection is not a match.

You can always just cut the sensor cable twist the two copper wires together and wrap in electrical tape(no more brake light), if you not what to deal with the sensor.

  10. Well Ebony is safety in the garage, but daughter birthday didn't leave it to do a detailed inspection.

What I have been able to do in a quick diagnous:

-engine idles fine in park or neutral.

    -car free rolls in park.

-if put in drive grumbling (technical term) sound from transmission

    Possible likely casues:

-broken input shaft (pinion and drive transfer gear on this tran)

    -ring gear

    -broken axel

The shift linkage with the engine off moves freely through the gears, and if it was transmission was the issue park would likely still work.

Hopefully I will be able to get her jacked up and do some crawling around underneath this evening or tomorrow and have a clearer picture.

    Update to follow soon.

  11. Brandy said Ebony was shifting roughly, so I drove her to work today to find out what she was feeling. All seemed to be fine, but then without warning while driving back up the hill to the house after cross a speed bump, I step on the gas climb to 3k RPMs and BANG!!!, instant lose of drive to the wheels, and the tinging sound of metal bouncing around.

I rolled backwards into a parking spot, Park does not work, set the parking break and walked home. Did not climb under due to being in chuck's since its Friday.

Once it's stops raining I am going to do some trouble shooting, to see if its catastrophic or just first gear that's gone and I can nurse it the mile to the house.

The damn automatic transmission strikes again.:banghead:
