  1. I have always been a fan of the euro stripe, with the number meatball on it.

Also drawing in the thrid color, Brandy's ebony had a gun metal grey as the larger primary stripe and the orange was the accent pin stripe the first time I did it.

Then Ali took brandy to the darkside (orangeside).

Sara was orginally going with orange stripes until she thought of the houndstooth idea. Ice blue and orange look great together.

  2. That is why I like black or dark grey base, everything pops off of it.

it's the color wheel orange is opposite blue so they contrast and pop off of each other, but it works better if the intensity of one of the colors is different then that other one. Cobalt blue and orange can be overpowering if there are large chunks of both colors.

Electric blue and orange or ice blue and orange work.

Then there's secondary complimentary colors. Next to orange is red and yellow, both of those colors will also contrast nicely with blue but they aren't as intense.

Then as you move around you start to lose contrast if you put blue with it's neighbors of green and purple, still pretty but now it's more harmonious and less contrast.

And Voila! there's your art lesson for the day

  3. All,

Unfortunately I am sliding the Run to the right. Due to the predicted high gusting winds and likely patchy ice on the secondary and tertiary roads that make up the route the risk reaches a level of risk I do not feel comfortable exposing the group to. I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

I am not cancelling the run, just rescheduling!!! The weekend of Feb 28 looks clear on the event calendar, and the extended weather report say it will be in the high 50’s. I feel this will allow all too truly enjoy this route, and each other’s company.

I am posting this on the forum and also PMing all that have RSVP’d yes or maybe. If you can respond confirming the change so I know no one is going to arrive in the morning. I will likely be there just to be safe.

    Thanks,

    Corey and Watson

  4. I want to pull the group for there option. I just checked the weather for tomorrow. It will be 10 degrees at the start time, no precipitation, but sustained winds of 30 mph with gusts to 50 mph. There is also the possibility of patches on ice on these road from the precipitation this evening.

Do we want to still go in the morning or slide it a to the right. The go-kart outing is next weekend, but one of the following to days.

I want to make the call by 5pm today as I know people likely have plans tonight.

  5. I am keeping an eye on the weather and will keep everyone informed. I am also concerned if there is a decent amount of rain Saturday with freeze temps all day Sunday. Fingers crossed.

  6. UPDATE: THIS EVENT HAS BE POSTPONED DUE TO WEATHER!!!!!!!!!

  7. Speaking from experience (I'm no lightweight at ~250 lb), you'll definitely be feeling it in the long straightaway... takes forever to regain any lost speed from the last hairpin prior. Still a blast to do though!

Distance races I run have recently added a Clydesdale class (over 200lbs), we can have our own unofficial category. It also give you an easy excuse for any slow times you may turn.:top:

  8. Hey Corey - where are these scrapped R53s? I'm on the lookout for a front passenger seat (upholstery irrelevant) from an 01/05 build or newer 1st Gen (R50, R52, R53 - doesn't matter). I need it to scavenge the passenger weight sensor embedded in the seat (not sold separately from the upholstery).

The ones I hit up are called pick-a-part and there is a yard around the corner from me in Stafford and they have another in Fredericksburg.

I can check when I am out there.
