On my random Craiglist searching, I came across this gen 1 body kit. I figured I would share for any Gen 1 guys out there.:top:
-
So to clarify you want to replace the rotors, pads, and calipers?
Ali is right, rich said his place is always open and he has a lift if I remember right. That would make life easier for sure. Try sending him a private massage.
I have a hand pump brake bleeder, and the cube for the rear caliper (it sucks to use). You can borrow the good caliper tool with the dogs from autozone. You shouldn't need the caliper tool if you are replacing them though.
If you can't use rich's sweet setup. I can always lend a hand for some driveway wrenching.

Other corner done. Time? 35 minutes :top:

Dan,
How much time did the first corner take and how much time will you be able to knock off with lessons learned.
Are you replacing with coil over kit or just the springs.
Started lowering the R53 today... Got one corner done... Lessons learned1: If you're following insctructions, DO NOT SKIP AHEAD!! Nothing like trying to get the lower collar loose when you've already got the top mounts loose
2: If the lower perch comes loose, make sure you put it back on in the same orientation as the other side!!! After re-assembly, my spring was rubbing the unibody, and it took me a couple minutes to figure out why.
3: Pay attention when taking everything apart! I didn't realize for a few minutes that a bracket on the strut slipped into the color to orient everything properly.
Other side should go a lot quicker tomorrow... LOL

I was amused when I called all the local parts houses trying to find a rear wiper blade for my R53... And then I felt like someone was trying to abuse me in a sexual manner when I called the dealer and got a price for it!!! :stupid:
I do laugh at dealer prices, often the same OEM parts are 50% cheaper through rockauto or other online source.
Point on the bear where they touched you.

You forgot to mention it is from MINI's 50 shades of grey collection. Lol

See all the work people have been doing, made me get my but in gear. Since it was a nice warm day I decided to install the A-panel wrap, bandy won in the MTTB raffle (donated by Itchy Pig)
Started by cleaning the MINI and Clay Barring the A-panel.
To get a clean look with no visible edges I removed the scuddle, beltline, and fender flare from the panel.
Dry fitted the vinyl and rough trimmed to the panel
I used the wet application method (special thanks to Laura for the tips). Trimmed the excess and this is the final result.
The wind kicked up as I was finishing the drivers side, so hope to get the passenger side done tomorrow.

Thanks all. It's not me though the kiddies have it.

What do you mean by suspension stuff. Sway bar, springs, coil cover kit, etc. just so we can have an idea of the effort and additional tool required for the job.
-
I do it twice a year. Once in the spring and once in the fall. I doubt mind doing as a group.
-
Sorry, I have to back out. The stomach bug has hit our house.
-
Sound like a good idea.
Maybe after the clinic we could get lunch and then visit Old Ox Brewery... -
Now there is proof Rey is your favorite. :hahaha:I like the idea of Rey being in charge.
So since I can't make it Darryl asked who's in charge. I told him Rey is in charge and Corey is 2nd in command. I have no reasoning behind this decision and I don't think you have to do anything. I just randomly picked someone to "Be in Charge"Feel the power!!!! :top:

Little Bruiser is starting to think he's a racecar.... Gonna have to talk with him.... :motor:
Looking good
-
is there a particular spot in the bar we are meeting:questionmark:
-
Looks like a nice kit, just keep in mind that "cross drilled" rotors are strictly for looks nowadays, and offer no real performance improvement....
I disagree the sweet looks make you stop ten feet shorter. Also every aftermarket performance sticker adds 1.5 bhp. Lol

I was going to answer, but looking at your header you have figured it out
dumb question how can i upload my own pic for a avatar? -
Brandy and I will be there, look forward to seeing everyone.

Capital Driving Club:
http://capitaldrivingclub.com/ This is who I run with, really laid back, multiple locations (not always a good thing) LOTS of events (two a month). No classes, but you get time added to your raw time based on tires, weight,HP.
There are more around but these are the main 3 that I am familiar with
I wonder what the time added is for 36hp and 10 inch rims.
Welcome I am sure the group can covers all your interests. Also match.com may be a bit to classy for this crowd. We are more like craigslist personals.

Welcome!
Showing up with fireworks would definitely endear yourself to the group.
Welcome look forward to meeting you soon.

so next week I will be finishing up the seats, changing the water pump, changing the supercharger oil and gaskets, changing the front brake sensors, and putting on motegi 18x8 wheels! This guy is excited!
That's a check list. Making me feel lazy. I keep using the garage is to cold as an excuse. Need to get my butt in gear.

Craig, I don't think of you as obsessed as the other two weirdos.:top:

Slap some orange on something and you are guaranteed to sell at least two in this club.
