Bimmercode is going to be one of the better options, It is what I use on both my wife's F56 and my R58

Ok, so wheels are tires are coming, now I need a spare and jack. From what I have found a small 15" emergency spare should work for the back, and I will have to move a back tire to the front if I get a front flat. Is that generally correct?
For a jack, is there a special jack or block? Can any scissor jack and wrench work?
You are correct on the tire, with a front wheel drive car you should always have standard wheels on the front and the narrow spare on the rear.
As for the jack, the MINI uses jack blocks not pinch weld jack point like most modern cars. So you will need a scissor jack with a flat jacking pad like the photo.

You Autocross season hosted by BMWCCA NCC is off to a hot start again this year with a lot of competitors. We have 6 driver's signed up for the full season and have had 9 different driver's competing in the class over the first two events. We have your top 3 finishers from last season returning with Corey Brown @1975_mini back to defend his title from last year along with Mark Drew @MarkDDrew who finished second, and David Widdifield @Widdie who finished third in his second season.
We also have several drivers returning for their second season and a few rookie drivers joining us this year.
How do we award points, we try to keep it simple 1st place at an event receives 10 points, 2nd place 9 points, and so on down to 10th place receiving 1 point. For the season total it is the total of a driver's four best events. We a not pro driver's and we know family, work, friends can cause you to miss an event. By only counting your four best you can miss an event and still complete for the season.
With two events down we have two winners, Corey tool the first event of the season with Mark grabbing event two. It looks like we are going to have tight battles up and down the points standings this year.
We are on our summer break (IT IS HOT OUT THERE) and the next points event will be Sept 6th. There will be a test and tune in August if you would like to have some fun and feel out your MINI in a none competitive setting.
Feel free to post below or ask at any one of your driving events about Autocross if you think it is something you would like to get involved in.
2025 Autocross dates:

Ok, so I've decided on swapping the wheels/tires this fall once the weather is cooler. Since I'm running the track this season I think I'm going to wear through these runflats a bit faster, and I want to have an all-season this winter since its my daily driver.
So here's my question for anyone: Does it make any performance (on or off track) if a 225/40 is mounted on an 8.5 inch wheel vs an 8.0 inch wheel?
From what I can tell the section width on the tire would be about .2" wider, but tread width would be maybe half that. So is .1" a difference? Or is it just fitment in the wheel well and overall look that is the deciding factor? I don't want my wheel/tire to "poke" out so I'm leaning to 18x8 ET45 but if an 8.5 is better....
Any thoughts/advice?
Don,
there is a minimal preference difference, a wider tire on a narrower wheel can allow for more sidewall flex. This is when going several widths different then what is standard.
you can run a 225 on an 8 without any noticeable difference.

Our fellow MINIacs were out in force for the start of the BMW National Capital Chapter (NCC) 2025 Autocross season, with 6 competitors registered for the season and always a few additional competitors at each event. This year’s season will consist of 5 points events hosted at Summit Point Motorsports Park in West Virginia. BMW NCC kindly offer a MINI classification allowing the MINI to compete against each other. If you would like more information on taking part in these events or what is autocross check out www.nccautocross.com or comment below.
Event 1 was held May 17th, and was a quick flowing course combining large radius turns, a slalom, and several hard braking elements. Our MINIacs mastered the layout quickly and their times started dropping. With 7 MINIs competing you had to keep an eye on the leaderboard with positions swapping with each round of runs. Event 1 ended as follows with the entire class separated by less than 10 seconds :
1st Place – Corey Brown (2012 MINI JCW Coupe)
2nd Place – David Widdifield (2012 MINI Cooper S)
3rd Place – David Tracz (2005 MINI Cooper S)
4th Place – John Preston (2021 MINI Cooper GP3)
5th Place – James Wade (2013 MINI Cooper JCW)
6th Place – Don McClure (2020 MINI Cooper JCW)
7th Place – Brandy Brown (2021 MINI Cooper GP3)
Congrats to everyone on a great start to the season, Event 2 will be held on June 21st and we currently have 8 MINIs registered to compete. We will keep you all updated on the season and hope to have more of you join us.
2025 Season Schedule

The computer uses resistance of the circuit to measure if the light has failed. LEDs have a lower resistance causing the light.
you can find adapters on places like amazon but it is a crap shoot if they will work.
Also the sell light with the proper resistance through mini focused suppliers like DetroitTuned.com and waymotorworks.com

OK Sorry I have not gone through all the chats but:
What is a good catalog to buy parts and mini stuff?
Also a good shop in the Arlington area?
Thanks
The two shops used often in the area are GT Peace in Chantilly and PTuning in Manassas
Online shops are Detroittuned.com, outmotoring.com, and waymotorworks.com these are businesses run by MINI people that know what they are talking about and stand by what they sell.
Minimania.com has been going through some financial issues and I have hear some issue with order fulfillment so use at your own risk.

Welcome!!
First question what do you want to do with the car, straight line speed, better handling on back roads. Is it your daily driver? Do you intend on tracking or autocrossing it?
Having messed with MINI for a little bit, in my opinion, power is the last area to mod. Happy to offer tips once we have a better understand of your use goals.
When it comes to chip/remapping if you have not added any of the accessories to support the increased air flow and offset temp demands it is not the best investment.
These turbo engines are basically vacuums and the more air you can move the more power you can make, that being said for longevity purposes I would personally not push over 250hp without changing some internals unless you want those internals to become externals sooner rather than later.

All,
We are in need of a drive leader for an OPEN run in the month of June. Because we have a run on May 31st, a run in the middle, or end of June would be preferable. If you're interested in leading a run, please respond below-thank you!
I will take a peak at my calendar and see if I can put something together

I got a paint chip in the hood of my Countryman. It was deep (down to the metal). Based on the positive reviews in this thread, I took my car to Darryl. He was able to custom order the paint, apply it and blend it perfectly. And he charged a very reasonable price. I'm thrilled with his work and highly recommend him. Before and after photo:
Thats awesome, Darryl runs a great shop. I had him correct and ceramic coat our new to us GP3 last year

nice, always a good add, catches the blow by and limits the coking issues the valves have resulting in a waltnut blasting.

Last time I was in at Passport for my free state inspection, they lied to me and said I needed new front struts (they were torn). After I quested them, the picture link they sent mysteriously disappeared. Took my car to my Mini Doctor and he laughed and said they were just fine.
Won't darken their doorstep again.
Oh, and they wanted over $1365 for new tires. $775 at Costco.
Sorry you had a poor experience, when was this. Our recent reengagement with PMoA was due to a complete change of management from the general manager down.
I agree the are always better prices on tires through big box stores or wholesalers. I purchase tires through costco as it comes with free mounting and balancing. Going third party in tires allows you the switch from run flats which is a major cost savings, and better performance.
Is that tire price difference like for like (i.e. both were high performance all-season tires), I still pay around $1000 a set for tires that are the quality I would run on my MINIs.

Here are the full result to include your times for all your runs
How to read times. You will see the time for each of your runs, with the fastest time displayed under the “total” Column. If you run time is followed by +dnf, you were off course and the time is disallowed. If you time is followed by a plus sign and a number (i.e. +1 or +2) that is the number of cones you hit and each cone adds 2 seconds to your time (example: 52.345+2 seems your time for that run is 56.345)

So as of right now it is looking like the high pressure fuel pump we are getting low readings from the fuel rail on the high pressure side going to check and see if there is a leaking fuel injector but because it's a misfire in a single cylinder it is not likely. I am going to do my best to make the run on Saturday but chances are that might not be possible.
HPFP is a common fail item on Gen2, very good chance that is the issue.

Good news that is cylinder 1 and 4, so not adjacent cylinder that could be a cracked cylinder wall or head gasket. Could be a few things with that: could be it you just replaced the o2 sensor it could have been ready incorrect for a while and created a rich condition resulting in fowled plugs. A common issue on gen2's is coking on the backside of the valves, of time this buildup will effect the seating of the valves resulting in misfires. Luckily that is easily corrected with a walnut blasting of the valves. usually around $350 or so.
Keep us in the loop on what they say

I am all registered for my first MOTD! Still need a place to stay… I’m fine with camping in my car. Fontana doesn’t allow car camping, does anyone know where I could? The deal gap motorcycle lodge allows it but they don’t take reservations so that’s risky.
Fontana says they don't, but they are not actively looking and several people do. There are rooms available in the lodge if you call Fontana village and say you are with MOTD. Fontana also has a camp ground at the base of the Damn, just outside the village.
You can also post on the MOTD facebook page that you are looking for a room/couch there a typically people with multi-bedroom cabins looking to rent rooms.
Here is a link to all the lodging options in the area.

So I was hoping someone might have some insight on this new issue. I just recently did the downstream oxygen sensor and it was spent for sure, put in the ntk as it said that is OEM. So the day after this being done she ran great. Then this morning I start the car up and heard a noise in the rear almost like something was loose then I got a light pop up which is a half lite up motor, looked it up and it said engine power reduced or something like that. Anyone ever have this or any ideas as to what it might be I would appreciate it. Note: no check engine light came on and on the return home that light went off
Unfortunately that is the default light that displays for anything feeding the ECU values outside the acceptable range. You really need to pull the codes to get a better understanding of the issue. When abouts are you located?
