My first new car was a 4 speed 1980 Chevette. I learned a stick on it and had it 3 weeks before taking a road trip to San Fransisco. What was I thinking?
Somehow I did it, and I definately used my emergency brake a ton
Craig and I found a place where we can do a Seafoam party and we won't get dirty looks. Ed at the Do it yourself mechanic said we can use his parking lot
Tigger's about due for another treatment
I just heard from Steve, he has the CF version of them and he loves them. Said they were really easy to install.
Glad you knew he had them Jim, it's always good to have a personal endorsement.
Slowly I am going to kill the chrome. Yesterday Mark said to me "Well you've gone half way now, just kill the rest of it"
I appreciate all the input
I got $100 for my birthday and want to spend it on Tigger. I saw these blacked out tail lights for about $130.
Are these hard to replace?
Anyone know anything about them or have a recommendation for something better

I wasn't taking it as sour grapes at all. I'm happy you enjoyed the event, I wish I had realized earlier there was an issue but there was no way to know.
I think that we really didn't realize the impact of how much goes on at the very end. Picking the
Well you did win a super nice prize for taking first in MD.
Everyone was really fun to work with yesterday. It was hot, there were a lot of things going on and the end point in the middle of a busy Harris Teeter parking lot was not ideal.

Way back in the 70's when I learned to drive a clutch I was told that you don't ride the clutch but it's OK if it's all the way pushed in. So that's how I have always driven, I'm very careful about riding the clutch. I often sit at a light with the clutch fully depressed.
Recently a guy told me that the new clutches are different and if I sit at a light with the clutch fully depressed that I'm still wearing on it.
Is this true? I already had the clutch replaced on Tigger at 30k and I want to be sure I'm driving it properly.

There were definitely some lessons learned. I am thinking of putting together some questions to ask the participants. There are all kinds of ways to do this kind of event and maybe next year we can do a different kind of twist.

Mark and I just did our final test run. Wow that was fun and kind of hard.
I would strongly suggest everyone bring a stop watch, it will make your life easier.
We have 17 registered (including Jim) and room for 10 more

It would be very challenging to hit the times, and the checkpoints and do the challenge questions without a navigator.
I hope Jennifer feels better soon, I'm so sorry to hear she's sick

Been tagging MINIs everywhere with flyers for MINIs Rally Against Melanoma.
And I've had a good week for waving. One of the rare times someone waved before I got a chance. I love a good proactive wave.
