  1. I wrote him about the drivers seat as mine is torn, but I bet it's gone
  2. Since Mike was Army and we have leaders within the run representing the various forces, Greg Trnka has agreed to sweep. He's retired Army and is honored and happy to help. Geno is leading (Marines) middle leaders are Quitta (Navy) Sherm (Air Force) Sweeper is Greg (Army) I'm really looking forward to Sunday!
  3. What ever is easier for you. You can pay the club and we'll be making a big check, you can write a check out to the charity (which helps for the tax donation) or you can pay in cash, in which case we'll include that in the big check from the club. Ali
  4. 30 miles in this area would not guarantee you a 1 hour commute, especially if you live outside the beltway and are coming in. I live inside the beltway and drive to DC, I leave the house at 6:50 and still hit some traffic making my 11 mile commute in 30 - 40 minutes, if I leave the house later at say 7:15 it's 45 minutes min, and when I've had a dr appt and left at 9:00 it takes over an hour. Chris suggested Fairlington in Arlington, they are older townhouses, but usually fairly reasonable for Arlington, it's not near a metro. However, depending on which part of George Mason your office is, it may not be near a metro either. If you can get inside the beltway you'll be happier. I'm on the Annandale line and it's more affordable here then Arlington and still inside. Our traffic is bad on a normal day, if it rains things come to a standstill. So you want to get as close in as you can afford
  5. You can buy a pair and split them. They aren't expensive. I ordered a pair in orange (what else) I have to figure out how to turn them into a pendant, but I may stick one on Tigger after he's repainted
  6. I Know!!! Alta is well regarded for their chrome, but before buying the paint wrap, we should research more. And the stuff isn't cheap
  7. So I did some research on the paint wrap and found this thread on the DipYourCar site http://www.dipyourcar.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-406.html They did some testing against PD and said this stuff didn't hold up as well. They also state that a lot of the pics on the site are actually cars done in PD and stolen pics from other sites. If you scroll down far enough they eventually talk about the test results.
  8. That stuff looks awesome!!! I like how they say you can add scents
  9. That's awesome. Reminds you that you did a good thing and you're a hero
  10. Good to know, I just noticed that they said you can't put them in the kiln
  11. Stay safe Dan!!!!
  12. Welcome Scott and Eva, I love when the MINIs are all named when they get here. Be sure to check our events to see what's going on. MINIs Take the Beltway MTTB is coming up soon. You just missed the annual Halloween party, but there are pictures at the thread. Hope to meet you soon
  13. For the type of glass that I do, this would be nearly impossible. If I did torchwork it would be more feasible, but not in fusing. This stuff isn't even glass, I suspect it's a resin method
  14. I'm thinking where the clear bra would go. A few years back we tried road wrap and that was a spectacular failure, but we know PD and it will work great
  15. They come as plain cabochons, I bet Laura and I can put our heads together and create Dragon Eye pendants. Not sure what you guys would do, but you could glue them onto a badge.
  16. I found these on Etsy http://www.etsy.com/shop/Nixcreations?page=2 I ordered a set and will figure out how to turn them into a pendant. Shouldn't be too hard. We could all get some to match the MINI. You could actually get some smaller ones and put them inside the eyes of the "Cooper" on the boot. I ordered 16mm to turn into a pendant.
  17. That's really pretty. I wonder how long that will last. I think Mike once dipped his whole car. MINIs are small enough that we can do this stuff. For the Dragon we should all PD the snouts to protect them from rocks on the trip down there and back
  18. Uhhhh yeah, well that part was an add on by a "competitor", I didn't want to take credit or anything. You see, Tigger's costume failed to cover his boot, and there are some that were concerned about this and had to make adjustments. You MIGHT see this again at next years contest, it has inspired me
  19. I hope you wore some sort of mask so you weren't breathing that crap in. What ever is in the filter, can't be good for your lungs
  20. Ugh, I hate tire problems. Glad Passport took such good care of you
  21. Here's Tigger's costume as an evil Fairy Princess Ballerina
  22. Catalina won that awesome MINI bag
  23. Tigger too, we got a beach towel, and Hillary got a prize for Zoro, a stuffed bulldog
  24. I had a blast!!! It was great seeing so many cars so decorated up like that
  25. Thanks Merlin!!!! Tigger has the other part of his costume and lighting for Craig. I'm not even sure the whole costume would fit IN Tigger
